♛ Find the opening variations of the Colle-Zukertort System shown in the video in this blog-post - chess-teacher.com/colle-zuker...
In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov shares with you one of the most underrated chess openings for White: the Colle-Zukertort System. It is a universal chess opening system that can be played against any move by Black.
Similar to the London System, but more aggressive and less well-known, this opening system typically follows this move order: 1.d4 d5 2.Nf3 e6 3.e3 Nf6 4.Bd3 c5 5.b3 Nc6 6.0-0 Bd6 7.Bb2 0-0 8.Nbd2.
It's important to note that you develop your queenside knight to d2 instead of the usual square c3, as you want to keep the diagonal open for your dark-squared bishop on b2, which will be a key piece for your future kingside attack.
Watch the full video lesson to learn the common opening setup, key ideas, and middlegame attacking plans for White.

For those interested in this system, look for games or books on the Rubinstein Opening, which is its correct name. It is also advisable to check resources on the better known and more popular Nimzo-Larsen Attack (in older books, Queen's Fianchetto Opening) which sometimes transposes and has similar motifs in its Classical Variation.
I just started to play this again due to your old video, happy to see a new one about this ! Thanks again for your videos !

You = ♟️+ HATE?!
The Colle-Zukertort is my favorite Queen pawn game. The Bishop on b2 affects the center (unlike in the Colle) and the back rank is vacated so the Rooks are connected. I knew you played a3 at some point to keep the N from attacking the B, but the explanation of a heavy piece occupying the c-file and the subsequent pressure on the c2 pawn was very helpful
Igor your videos are so nice, easy to understand, perfectly explainted. But could You please named these openings in describtion? So we could save these videos and come back to them. Thank You for your job (:
Great lesson as always!!
Thank you ones again and again, fantastic work 👏 and thank you
I started off with the Colle-Zuckertorte. It's a great choice for beginners.
Thank you GM Igor! I have been playing the London System lately and this is a really great variation to add to my toolbox!

Maybe consider making some chessable courses Igor. Including this opening. By the way as an idea I suggest looking at the opening that Mark Hunt uses. The famous MMA and kickboxing star is very good at chess with peak ELO of 2065 in bullet which is almost all he plays. One can see why he could be so effective in combat sports with that level of fast intellect and incredible power along with an ungodly chin. Anyway the opening is a double fianchetto. Check out some of his games. MMA is probably more up gotham's Avenue but it's impossible to contact him so if you can tap into the MMA fanbase to grow your own subscriber count why not.
Nice! Thanks 😊
I used to play these lines many years ago. It's all coming back to me. I often would play it online or at the park against the chess hustlers.
I've been having a lot of fun with the stonewall lately, and I like how this transposes into that, but with a dangerous fianchetto'd bishop.
Excellente! it looks good. I have not seen that before, and I will try it in several games. For me that is the best from Smirnov.

Igor, I've been looking at the colle and i am pleased to see your videos on this opening. However, can you do a video on what to do when black plays an early C5 (Benoni style) . the computer keeps playing this! Thanks again for everything you publish

Igor please make a video on the Catalan
What about anti colle system with 1. d4 d5 2. Kf3 Kf6 3. D3 Bf5 ? What is the best answer ? I assume c4 ?
Susan Polgar had a great DVD series on this
GM Igor, can play couple simulations with your subs after tutorial such this ? Please...
Utterly destroying oppenants in rapid. Wow I like it! Very easy to learn. Thank you so much Igor Grand Master

Awesome! Cool to hear.
If they play B f 5 on move 2, is it better to exchange Bishops, or is their a better option? Thanks
To be one of those people: Do you have a reccomendation against the 3.Bf5 "elephant in the room" ? it's quite popular aswell.
I play this opening in bullet games. It's a pretty good opening and my favorite.
Sir can u make a video on middle game plans
you: D4 your opponent: NF6 you: resigns
I would recommend playing this opening till ur 2000fide, well u can stop at anytime but I recommend playing e4 2000+ level 😅
This looks beautiful
CLEAN 500K SUBSRIBER !!!! GZ
I usually play jobava London but I like this setup
When I play e4 and black plays c5 I play whatever the gambit is called where you sacrifice a bunch of pawns to get the dark bishop on that diagonal. People forget about it ALL THE TIME! 😂
Does this work against King's Indian / Modern type setups?
this addresses the london system's weakness: .. c4 as a beginner, looking for my own style, openings that i might try, i tried to use the london.. but once black pushes to c4, you now can't put your bishop to d3. b3 addresses this, and prepares the aggressive b2 bishop.
Colle-Zuckertort! sweet😀

After Knxd7, d4xc5 black can take the pawn by his bishop to open his queen on the 7th rank and support his king
Can you make a detailed video for petrov defense
Hello igor I start playing chess from 13 Jan 2024 now I am at 1100 and your video helps me a lot. now I am struggling with the black please suggest the best opening for black.

Happens only 1% of the games, so very rare move... More to worry about is anti-colle.
Can you actually get a title when you only play online? Or is it mandatory to play official tournaments over the board?
B-f4 would interfere with the Colle more than B-g5 . It takes away White's b1 to h7 attacking diagonal
Whitd should be aiming for C2 C4 in this system!
Zuckertort was a 19th-century chess master who played Steinitz in the first official world title match. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johannes_Zukertort
What is f5 is played. Double B sac does not work so well then
i tried 20 moves win thank you
From the thumbnail I thought he would start the video with "Hola jaquetones, que tal, como estais?"
They always play h6 after I finish preparation
Yes, its close to shuger-cake, but an e is missing at the end, apart from this, "Torte" is a special CREAME-cake, the generell word for cake in german would be "Kuchen".
please Make video alien gambit
I wonder what white should do if black castles long?
You missed including lines against black's king's Indian fianchetto set ups.
My new favorite opening(London player) ...please archive this video before black learn how to crush it... lol
I feel like you didn’t address the night on F7 protecting the king when you were showing us all the checkmate attacks
I came up with it without knowing what I was playing 💀
Ah. The stone wall. My fav is either white or black
I am gonna use this because i only knew london
What to do if black knight goes to b4?
My new favourite opening, bye bye London.👋👋👋
From black’s perspective I always play anti-colle.😂 The kingside attack is nothing to afraid.
Please wish me good luck for my tournament.... Gonna play this oppening and defeat my opponents. 😊
Name of the opening?

Is this the StoneWall?
Put the pawn on c4 and I have more respect for that sort of system!
What if he castle the other side? 😂
I tried it it doesn't work on computer (master level)
Igor, I've tried this a few times, and to me the real elephant in the room is their black Knight to e4. Do I sacrifice my bishop to get rid of it?

What to do if they play Bf5? I see Bg4 is covered but Bf5 messes me up. Any advice?

Hi Juan, blacks 3...Bf5 is called anti-colle, and really, really annoying. Stronger players always seems to play this move. I suggest 4.c4 immediately then they go e6 then you play 5.Qb3 attacking the weak pawn. Since their bishop no longer can defend their weak pawn, they will play b6 mostly.. Then you go 6.Nc3 and from here black has a plenty of options. He can play 12(!) different moves, one is a blunder. Some are mistakes and others are good... Moves are: Be7, c6, Bd6, Nc6, Nbd7, c5, dxe4, a5, h6, Ne4, a6, Na6 where last move is a blunder. So there are so many lines in this anti-colle variation takes some time to learn 😅. Good luck!
