♛ Find the opening variations of the Colle-Zukertort System shown in the video in this blog-post - chess-teacher.com/colle-zuker...
In this video lesson, GM Igor Smirnov shares with you one of the most underrated chess openings for White: the Colle-Zukertort System. It is a universal chess opening system that can be played against any move by Black.
Similar to the London System, but more aggressive and less well-known, this opening system typically follows this move order: 1.d4 d5 2.Nf3 e6 3.e3 Nf6 4.Bd3 c5 5.b3 Nc6 6.0-0 Bd6 7.Bb2 0-0 8.Nbd2.
It's important to note that you develop your queenside knight to d2 instead of the usual square c3, as you want to keep the diagonal open for your dark-squared bishop on b2, which will be a key piece for your future kingside attack.
Watch the full video lesson to learn the common opening setup, key ideas, and middlegame attacking plans for White.

For those interested in this system, look for games or books on the Rubinstein Opening, which is its correct name. It is also advisable to check resources on the better known and more popular Nimzo-Larsen Attack (in older books, Queen's Fianchetto Opening) which sometimes transposes and has similar motifs in its Classical Variation.

The Colle-Zukertort is my favorite Queen pawn game. The Bishop on b2 affects the center (unlike in the Colle) and the back rank is vacated so the Rooks are connected. I knew you played a3 at some point to keep the N from attacking the B, but the explanation of a heavy piece occupying the c-file and the subsequent pressure on the c2 pawn was very helpful

Maybe consider making some chessable courses Igor. Including this opening. By the way as an idea I suggest looking at the opening that Mark Hunt uses. The famous MMA and kickboxing star is very good at chess with peak ELO of 2065 in bullet which is almost all he plays. One can see why he could be so effective in combat sports with that level of fast intellect and incredible power along with an ungodly chin. Anyway the opening is a double fianchetto. Check out some of his games. MMA is probably more up gotham's Avenue but it's impossible to contact him so if you can tap into the MMA fanbase to grow your own subscriber count why not.

Hi Juan, blacks 3...Bf5 is called anti-colle, and really, really annoying. Stronger players always seems to play this move. I suggest 4.c4 immediately then they go e6 then you play 5.Qb3 attacking the weak pawn. Since their bishop no longer can defend their weak pawn, they will play b6 mostly.. Then you go 6.Nc3 and from here black has a plenty of options. He can play 12(!) different moves, one is a blunder. Some are mistakes and others are good... Moves are: Be7, c6, Bd6, Nc6, Nbd7, c5, dxe4, a5, h6, Ne4, a6, Na6 where last move is a blunder. So there are so many lines in this anti-colle variation takes some time to learn 😅. Good luck!
