    Medal-wise, Scherbo is "more successful" just by medal count i guess, but All-around medals should be given extra points due to being the most difficult to medal in by far. Scherbo won a SINGLE world championship AA title, and only placed THIRD at the Olympics in 1996...Kohei has won SIX world championship titles IN A ROW, two Olympic golds in the all-around, and a bronze. He literally won 8 all-around titles in a row, a record nobody has come even close to. Kohei is more successful medal wise and obviously skill wise is miles better. I know there was no need to explain this because everyone knows it already, just had to get it off my chest.

    G Gaviria Shcerbo was the best back then, yes, no one denies that. But if you compare Kohei‘s moves to Vitali‘s with slow motion, the difference can‘t be ignored. Kohei is a machine, perfection, that‘s what every professional judge has said. 2 times Olympics champion in row (all around), 6 times World Champion (all around). Uchimura has dominated the gymnastic world for 8 years, like no one. Now beat that.

    Goes to show you that US Men's Gymnastics has to step it up. They really don't have a good dynasty like the women have. The only one that springs to mind is Bart Conner. But you have to go way back to the first olympics and the first worlds up to the 40's to know how long it's been since the US men dominated.

    +Thinkthank Indonesia And what else did the USA women's gymnastic team win in 2004? Except for team medals, winning the AA doesn't mean dominating the sport. The 2000 and 2004 quad was dominated by the Romanians. The 2008 quad was dominated by the Chinese. *(Note that I said quad, not the Olympics) And now, the Americans.

  • @DeepSeas..

    @DeepSeas..

    Huh? The 2005-2008 quad was not dominated by the Chinese. Look at the medal tables. The U.S. had Johnson, Memmel, Sacramone and Liukin. China's biggest accomplishments that quad were a team gold at worlds, Fei's vault domination at worlds and the team gold at the Olympics (won under dubious circumstances, no less).

    There are many mistakes in this video. The subscriber should check the statistics carefully. A significant one is that Li Ning won 14 world championships in his career, not just two. Only in Los Angeles 1984 Olympics did he win 3 gold , 2 silver and 1 bronze medals. In China, Li Ning is well known as Gymnastics Prince and his position in Chinese gymnastics is regarded as unsurpassable just like how Michael Jordan is known in basketball.

    It is only me or gymnastics looked much more interesting, creative and elegant in the 80's and 90's? I mean, there are a lot of great gymnasts today, but I have the impression it is all about acrobatics, what is not bad at all, but it just feels a little boring...
