At least Gervais said he was a funny bloke, instead of the usual hyperbole of ooh he was comedy genius, funniest bloke on the planet etc.

The comedic timing on the Don't Knows is legendary

When 'don't know' is removed from his options you just know he is going to ask what the options are again, despite having totally forgotten the original question, but it is still hilarious because if you have ever worked in an Office it is all just SO soul crushingly real!
“Brent mused…” never fails to make me laugh!

Very LinkedIn.
The scene with Keith is hilarious. it's probably the first time Brent is actually doing his job correctly, and the frustration he feels with Keith is how management feels with him.
Academy Award winner Olivia Colman writing an article on David Brent. Just shows how important he is to the paper industry

it also shows how important he is as a chilled out entertainer

The introduction to the Swindon staff made my toes curl 😬
I don’t think you win a Pulitzer for filth
Laughed out loud at the very last comment, wife thought I'd lost it.
I forgot Olivia Coleman was in this!
Just so very sad the big fella’s no longer with RIP mate‼️
7:13 I swear the guy on the left in second row has been blurred out? Perhaps he was laughing during the take. It looks like he was smirking.

I'd say so. Can you imagine how hard everyone in that room is digging their fingernails into their legs trying to keep a straight face whilst Ricky Gervais (and Smerch) is coming out with some of the best British comedy in the lat 40 years.

@@hitchslap8254 the “ONLY ME!” and look to camera kills me every time. I do know for a fact you see the actress who played Rachel break character and laugh during the Brent dance.
The one time I felt sorry for David was when he was doing Big Keith’s appraisal. It was like pulling teeth.
Well are you getting it down? 😆
Jesus, it's just so, so funny.
The acting is so underrated.

On the contrary, it’s very highly rated.

I wonder did this drive Sophie to take the loan manager job at JLB Credit

I never really understood the difference between Neil’s shit jokes and David’s .

Neil's jokes might have been bad, but they weren't just terribly-delivered material cribbed from better comedians like David's jokes.

@@philiphunn194 true, but Neil did put David off and a phone rang ruining the experience. And if only people knew who Eric kitchmo was.

@@e.smiles450 Getting to know people? I don’t agree with that in the workplace.
Brent secretly realized that he wasn't as young or as chill as he thought, yet put on a brave face as he responded with what was a sterling reply.
I worked in a Vodafone Call Centre in Swindon (for 3 weeks) in 2000 and in a JobCentre+ in 2001/2002 as well as a number of Public Sector Admin short term Agency contracts. When it was released I struggled with The Office because it was so real it was like being back in those absolutely soul destroying environments but now I do laugh at the sheer banality of it all and frankly just miss being young again. I recognised it is a very slippery slope from being Tim to being David Brent if you hang around these places too long and thankfully I escaped into The Highlands and the great outdoorsy life. Some very good people in these places though and ultimate respect to those who had the financial and family responsibilities that I didn't in terms of mortgages and kids, who stick these places out for decades.
Love Gareth having to duck and cower from the swing of David's sudden stray Goose Step
