USA one is unrealistic, wacky cartoon characters, bright optimistic them tune, bright colour grading, and jokes that are obvious and come one at a time, not layered or with nuance or subtlety. Or jokes you only notice on the 20th re-watch (not that I could actually say). Makes no sense that a documentary crew would be filming for 9 Seasons. They even kept it going after Michael Scot left. The entire premise of the show is ruined, and the fact that they are being filmed at work after such a long, long time is something I cant get past. UK one is realistic colour grading, characters that could really exist, office environment that's realistic and drab and depressing. Only two seasons so the premise makes sense and within them in almost every moment you can pause and point out several funny happenings that will be flying over people heads on first watch. It is true art. The episodes pieces together like songs on an album, perfect, thoughtful arrangement like a symphony. The USA one is another sit com idea rinsed dry for money.

@@Dushmann_ London during the 80s/90s was generally good and very multicultural (great food/ music). I worked in about 6 different jobs in that period and typically within an office of 30 there would be 2 or 3 people who would make comments showing that they didn't like people that looked like me. Normally I would just walk away but if they persisted over a period of weeks then one day, I would confront that person 1 on 1 whether they knew karate, were physically bigger than me, or even an ex-army man I recall. I'm a normal ordinary very easygoing guy and talk to anyone but I don't tolerate subtle verbal bullying from anyone in the workplace. After the workplace confrontation, the person would typically stop saying anything offensive but would also spread rumors saying I was sensitive, or they were only joking. Most people in London are great and when I go back, I will be heading to a friendly pub for a Guinness/ food.

I really don't know what went on in offices some 24 years ago but I am sure this kind of "office humour" is just unheard of in today's environment. You will automatically lose your job or be demoted if you tell these kind of jokes.

In the office of life, where suits are worn with pride, I strut upon the stage, the boss, no need to hide. My jokes, like paper, crumpled and tossed, A dance of words, a comedy embossed. With wisdom profound, or so I believe, I navigate the waters, like a captain, no reprieve. My charisma, a beacon, shining bright, In the fluorescent glow of the office light. I am David Brent, a legend in my time, A rhyme of confidence, a rhythm so sublime. In this corporate ballad, where laughter and work entwine, I'm the star of the show, the boss, forever in prime.
