Actually, Wolverine did free himself, without Jubilee’s help. It was during a storm. Only after he fell to the ground, is that he spotted Jubilee and asked for help. Storm’s ineffectual leadership led to the X-Men’s disbandment.

Actually no relation between Marc and Alan. Marc's wife is lingerie model Bridget Silvestri though. She's actually been the reference model for several of his female characters, notably Emma Frost when he worked on XMen with Grant Morrison.

I don't think they meant for it to be offensive, but it was clearly inspired by a crucifixion, if not THE crucifixion. I do think we, as Christians, need to recognize the difference between make-believe entertainment and blasphemy. I assume the person who thought of this idea was not a Christian, and wasn't thinking about how it may offend some people. Either way I think it's cool, and I don't think they were necessarily comparing Wolverine to Jesus. We all know that Deadpool is Marvel Jesus.

This was the first issue of Uncanny X-Men that I bought when it was on the racks. This issue marks the end of the outback era. All the Reavers had felt wolverines blades in one issue or another. Three of them were mauled by Logan in a story titled Wolverine Alone.. during the now classic Dark Phoenix Saga.. a pivotal issue up to this point whereas it demonstrated Logan's loyalty to his teammates as he fights to save them! Also his character but above all else showcasing how badass he is. Cole,Reese,and Mason were guards at the Hellfire Club. Three others Bone -Crusher,Scull-Buster, and pretty boy remembers of the original Reavers(who the X-Men kicked out of their own base and moved into it, beginning the Outback Era). Lady deathstrike and Donald Peirce finish this formidable lot! Wolverine returns to headquarters and instead of finding the X-Men is jacked by the Reavers in brutal fashion!!! In this story titled fever dream Logan walk crucified seize past Friends and Lovers in this motivated by them to fight, and to live. Wolverine is essentially a sacrificial lamb here, being mocked and torchered. The story is a culmination of the fear and hatred experienced by the X-Men.. it's the end of an era leaving a future completely uncertain. The X-Men are no more!!!!

I'd argue it was either getting ripped in half by Peter Parker in Web of Shadows or that time in Ultimate when he switch bodies with Peter and it's implied he copped a feel on a 15 year old MJ God Ultimate Wolverine sucks. He's like the only bad version of Wolverine. The writers decided "feral, acting on instinct, lacking in subtleties, lots of teen girl/dad vibes" means "statutory rapist"

That being said there are some gems Ultimate Fantastic Four gave us The Maker, who was pretty much the last good thing Marvel did in like 5 years. He was a great twist because they spent years reminding us that Ultimate Reed is a bored autistic sociopath that's one bad day from going full Ming the Merciless Ultimate Captain America gets written off as a racist (which he isn't, he's more Clint Eastwood than John Wayne) He's got some great moments of vulnerability and loss, and nearly all of MCU Cap is derived from him. I especially like the bits where he's just openly disgusted by the military industrial complex, especially around super humans, and you can tell he feels responsible for all the freaks made trying to replicate him. And Ultimate Peter is just perfection. The ONLY character in this godforsaken universe that isn't a selfish asshole. He's a realistic, angry and somewhat self-destructive tool at his worst. He's like they took all the best runs from the 60's 70's 80's and 90's and distilled them into a pure Peter. There's a very good reason every single Spider-Man movie/show has basically been lifted from the pages of Ultimate Miles Morales is a good character, and I think now that they've had a good decade to shake out some kinks, I think they've started to nail him. I still think he'd do better under his own unique superhero title like Arachnid or something like that

She grew back into that age so she is in that age bracket proper same as any isekai protag. Having old memories isn't going to change you're living an entirely new life. 💁‍♂️

This issue came out when I was in high school. I took a lot of delight in showing my classmates the cover.

One of the best issues from one of most unique runs on x-men.
