Reminder that (one of the) Doom's origin story has him witnessing the future where he rules everything and he sees a paradise without violence, strife, hunger or disease. And he's STILL fighting to earn that future. He's a villain, no doubt, but is a villain worth checking out

He forgets about Freedom of Choice. The right to say "no." The main reason Cap fights him. I would say "yes" to his paradise, but only because I chose to. Not by force. He would do a better job just leading by example and convincing people, but he seems too arrogant and/or oddly impatient to do that. Doesn't help he flip flops on mutants too depending on writer. You think he would be more sympathetic to Magneto since both suffered under police states and both are Romani.

Keep in mind he does rule a country, Latveria. That place is not a paradise. it doesn't have much in the way of violence or strife as Doom controls the military and has the people completely oppressed. There is still hunger and disease there, (though no more than anywere else. Very little technology for the masses, pretty much 100-200 years behind current technology, with the exception of doom who has all that for himself and doesn't share (and is probably 100-200 years ahead of current technology), so makes for a really weird wealth/tech gap with his citizens.

Yeaaaaaaaah... about that comic. That was an alternate universe Doom who was trying to convince him he didn't have to be a villain. Doom destroyed that entire universe to prove he's not that soft.

​@@RacerC45recently it has. Madame Web was possibly the most nothing burger of a movie that has ever been made and their recent movies have genuinely sucked. I still have hope that Fantastic Four will be good. Doom is one of the only characters I'm excited to see anymore.

Doom pulling up to Latveria riding a bear goes so hard because the first thing I thought of when you said it was the giant painting Vladimir Putin has in his office of him riding a bear, clearly to stroke his own ego. Doom did that. He literally did that. I know Doom is a fictional character but having him just randomly do things real world politicians say they will do in the future to cement how fucking cool Doom is could be a hilarious running gag.

Doom is technically not a villain, but an anti-villain the opposite of characters like Deadpool, Doom is a guy willing to destroy worlds to give us what we all ever desired: No disease, end of poverty, death to suffering and so on... Naturally under his rule that is... Sounds complex, but is pretty simple actually

Doctor Doom is the reason wizards cant wear heavy armor in RPGs anymore.

I truly pray the MCU doesn't screw up Doctor Doom in live action again since he's such a three dimensional villain and multi faceted character who's earned the right as Marvel's greatest villain and possibly one of the greatest villains in comics. With how promising the Fantastic Four is shaping up to be I hope whenever we do get Doom they do him better justice than the Fox movies ever could. Btw I love that they pay homage to MF DOOM😂

Like yeah the guy is a tyrant and all, but he doesn't actively oppress his people, Latveria is a total paradise, were no one goes hungry, discrimination mostly doesn't exist to the point where Doom even had a mutant force that was willingly helping him, no wars since Doom doesn't drag his country on unnecessary conflict, everyone loves him and they know Doom is a villain, he doesn't try to hide his deeds from his subject but he is just such a good ruler they don't care, I honestly would love to live in Latveria.

The thing about it is, Doom is not 100 percent a villain. He is loved by his people, took them from a destitute nation to a powerhouse to rival Wakanda. Literally want for nothing. Doom is trying to save the world, but his methods put him into conflict with others. He has been a hero and a villain. Which is why if he is ever introduced into the MCU, and done properly, he should not be killed off like Thanos or Ronan.

I’m glad that Galactus is back on top of the food chain of power. I always thought that he should be more powerful than the molecule man. Also being far above mortals as well as his heralds being galaxy buster characters that at one point it was said that compared to Galactus theirs were nothing.

Hey so this may not be related to the video but I wanted to say over the last week or so I've been listening to your videos while going on my stop smoking journey. It's given something for me to focus on aside from my cravings. Thanks for being such an engaging content creator, and thanks for the video!

So to put it simply, Pride can be a good thing and if you work towards everything you'll become great but at the same time it'll become your worse enemy. But like any story, nothing can be defined with one sentence.

I’ve only seen Doom here or there but I absolutely love that one comic I think involving Reed Richard’s daughter who goes to visit “her uncle” because someone told her to trust in him. She’s also smart enough to even figure things out before him. (I actually think it’s the Hickman Fantastic 4 run so makes sense) Even though he’s a villain, it’s those fun dynamics that I think makes comics shine. Also holy shit Doom getting his shit wrecked by Galactus sounds amazing. Of course he would fight a godly being with 0 hesitation. The entire story sounded so wild and fun. With a bitter yet perfect ending that GETS Doom! It really makes me think Doom wouldn’t be done well in the MCU unless you have writers and directors who REALLY gets Doom

@@Heyimpops he isn't, Doom himself has admitted he's afraid of Mandarin & prefers not to face him, that's why he's such a great character, because he knows when to pick up a battle & when doesn't

I would also love to see some videos on PreDH! It seems to get very little coverage, but it's very neat and just as nostalgic! I have an Arcanis, the Omnipotent PreDH deck and I've had a blast regardless of what other PreDH or EDH decks I've gone against!

@@pizzacole609it depends on which part of space you were in. Measure a temp in the vacuum of space on one side of the moon or the other you will have two separate numbers.

I would love a 20 min film of this comic and to be paired with mf doom as the sound track for it. reading it this while playing mf doom in the background was other worldly.

I find it funny the only person to solo outwit and beat Dr Doom was Ash Williams from The Evil Dead. And all he had to do was dress up as a Doombot, lol.

David "Prepared for that possibility," he was almost as Crazy Prepared as Doom himself! (Yes, that's how Doom would see it. NOBODY is as powerful, as brilliant, as awe-inspiring as Doom! Just ask him, or don't; he'll tell you soon enough either way.)

Despite his rivalry with Reed, I love how caring he is towards Valeria to even go as far as going back in time and rewrite history (just to be proven wrong later on lol)

Doom has always been my favorite anti hero, he really took off in Wizard Magazine. Also in epic fantasy battles he's taken out Vader and Lex Luthor. Really would love to see a Doom movie. Maybe him as a egotistical Anti-Hero duking it out with some "big brain" villians. Charismatic national leader who actually does right by his subjects eliminating poverty hunger and disease but also dealing harshly for anyone who offers opposition anyone who is divergent from his plan. Maybe he's gone as far as having people's careers and potential mates planned out. His opposition aligns themselves with outsiders people who actually have very ill intent for the general population. Make a story that solidifys him like a leader as Tchalla/Black Panther.
