Most Exciting 2024 TVs | The TV's We'll All Be Talking About

Ғылым және технология

With CES now in the rearview mirror, I've had some time to ponder which 2024 TVs I'm most excited for -- the TVs that will be the center of conversation for the whole year. In this video, I talk about which TVs in 2024 are worth being excited about -- which might make our Best TVs of 2024 list. But, perhaps more importantly, we talk about WHY they are actually exciting -- and the reasons may surprise you.

Indeed. I'm also very interested in seeing a direct comparison with LG G4 83" vs Sony Mini-Led 2024. Given their top prototype has +50% brightness, 3x dimming zones and uses 20% less electricity vs the X95L, it does sound something I'd be extremely keen to buy. My X95K 65" is slightly bloomy, but already a fantastic TV otherwise (parring issues with Nvidia GPUs), and going up to 85" with a clear step up is a great value proposition for an upgrade.

I upgraded my 2017 65" LG E7 with a 2023 65" LG C3. I picked it up for just over $1,500, roughly $1,000 less than it went for 10+ months ago. Definitely an upgrade, better picture for sure, but the biggest thing is how much faster it is with Streaming, how quickly things 'pop up' and the WebOS is laid out SO much better. The picture is fantastic (once I got it the way "I wanted" it). Connected it to my Bluesound Pulse+ soundbar and Yamaha sub, easy plug and play. OK, so waiting for the 2028's to come out. 🙂

Caleb, can you please do a "Deep Dive" on the new MPEG-H technology that is quickly emerging now in the marketplace? This is going to allow the end-user to have direct control over the levels of individual aspects of an audio presentation from a TV show, movie or live sporting event. You'll be able to dial up the dialog/voice-over while turning down (or even off) the music or crowd noise in the case of a sporting event. This will be an absolute game changer in the world of home audio for movies and TV - and it's something that consumers have been BEGGING for!

@@billtinnell2206 we’ll see. Out of the ones I have watched I feel like this is the one that I liked the most. I feel like all the Samsungs had some annoying “stuttering” which I did not like. Also I watch at least some shows that need very good upscaling and here as well x95l seemed like the best Choice. I liked the x90L as well but with discounts in my country the were only like 300$ apart so I figured it would be a bad place to save money. Afterall 300$ is what one might accidentally spend on a night out 😬🤦‍♂️

The Samsung has been plagued with firmware problems from launch and over a year later they still can't get it right. If the 2024 Sony is anywhere near as good as expected I'm going back to Sony and probably won't be going to another brand anytime soon if ever.

When it comes to IMMERSION, a 100-inch TV cannot compete vs a UST projector that can do 150-inches or a long throw projector that can do 300-inches. TV's and projectors have two different target audiences. Projectors will still be relevant until Micro LED becomes affordable to mass consumers. The 115-inch TCL TV doesn't compete vs a UST projector like the AWOL-Vision LTV-3500 Pro which can run 3D movies at 150-inches.

All these mega screens 98" plus are cool and all, but people don't realize these are going to cost anywhere from 7 to 10k, which is way more than the masses are willing to pay... Plus, not one person anywhere has mentioned DSE on these huge screens... unless there has been some major upgrade in screen uniformity that has been done by these companies.. time will tell

I will do the mini led. I have 2 Hisense. I was waiting to buy the UX all year in Canada they dont release. It’s something d larger screen the better . Because lager screen objects are stretched OUT u need brighter highlight, MORE transition shades in between black n white to look more 3D pop. OLED looks very black yes but their SDR image are sitting dead at around 480-500nits peak. That’s like iPhone 8 level dim. So in LARGE tv like u might actually start to see OLED look more flat, since their Brightest Shade of White is just (light blue, light green/beige) . If someone buying large tv they obviously have huge living room lots window/door. That mid day..u have tons light coming in. The brighter the tv the MORE crisp n clean. NO JOKE. Kinda like billboard on highway,,the brighter the billboard the MORE crisp n Plesant to the eyes they are. But since the Hisense/tcl can be Dimmed down for cloudy day or night. They are d MSOt flexiable . When OELD just utterly will look a lot like a Dim goo during the day or have lights on when ppl come over they things at background in d shadow usually the images are lost cuz too dim out zoom out. 😅

Question about the Sony A95L. I bought a 65 inch Sony A95L on Black Friday, and have mostly loved it. The only thing is the black levels look a little gray, or raised as it’s referred to as, but not as much as I was expecting. I was expecting this because of no polarizing layer, but it still has bothered me a little, so I bought a 65 inch LG G3 to compare to the Sony A95L side by side. The LG looks the same as far as black levels go, it looks a little gray, not more inky than the Sony A95L like I was expecting. Does the Sony A95L actually have a polarizing layer unlike the Sony A95K? Or does the LG G3 not have a polarizing layer? Also, why do they not put polarizing layers in QD-OLED TVs? Also, so far I’ve liked everything about the 65 inch Sony A95L better than the 65 inch LG G3.

I assume what you're seeing is just the result of the currently used anti-reflection coatings. They're a bit more matte than they used to be a few years ago, and matte surfaces end up looking a little grey if you're in a room with any environmental light. You'd have to compare to a 2021 or older OLED to see the difference in blacks I think.
