Thank you Sir! FYI, Samsung then sent me a $50 coupon and was then able to apply that to the total. So I paid $767 total (tax included). Cant beat that with a stick lol

Watch the price of the 85-inch Sony X90L or X90CL. It seems to be fluctuating between $1,999.99, $2,199.99, and $2,499.99. I think this is a perfect sweetspot between performance, size, and price. I've had mine set up since December 14th, 2023, and so far I have no regrets. I use it with a Sony UBP-X800M2 4K UHD Blu-ray player for discs, and my laptop for streaming. I'm not a gamer.

I highly recommend the X90L but I'm annoyed by Google TV OS and so for $1999 you could go for either the Samsung S89C 77" or X90L 85" and I think you get a bit more value with the S89C; HOWEVER if youre coming from an old Sony TV, then the X90L is a winner.

Depends on you. If you want cheap but good enough get the U7K. If you want the better hardware, good motion, best HDR, good port/gamer options get the QM8. If you want the better software/best upscaling/good motion/ best PQ EOTF tracking/ and more liberty to be able to change your picture in order to make it look better get the X90L. You can't go wrong either way since they are all the best at something.

I just found your channel and subscribed -- great content presentation! I just purchased a Samsung 65" QN90C, and I'm pretty happy with it, except that I have my latest edition TIVO Edge that the Samsung sometimes cannot find, and I have to restart the TIVO box in order for it to be found. It doesn't happen regularly, but often enough for me to want to return it. I was considering the 65" (maximum size to fit my area) Sony A80L, which is similarly priced, but it's an OLED, which I was afraid to get because of the possible, though unlikely, burn in, and hoping that my Samsung issues with my TIVO might go away. I'm also a bit concerned, as it has only 2 HDMI 2.1 inputs, and one of them is the eArc, which I assume I should use with my Sonos sound bar, which I like. I really would like 2 free HDMI 2.1 inputs for my Apple TV box, as well as my TIVO, and the occasional blu-ray disk. (I also considered the Samsung S90C, but I'm afraid that it may have the same TIVO connection issues) Any comments or observations would be very much appreciated, as I'm within the 90 day return window for my Samsung.

The Sony A80L may also have trouble with finding HDMI connections - generally, LG is most solid when it comes to HDMI handshakes. As far as 2x HDMI 2.1, it's only really important if you need 4K120 gaming features on all 4 ports but otherwise 2x is enough if you're only using 1 for dedicated gaming. The image quality and sound quality for streaming/content watching are identical for all 4 ports on all modern TVs today!

Wow! thank you for your quick response. I'll ask just one more question: if you had a choice between the QN90C, S90C, and the Sony A80L, which would you pick? I'm googling a lot about the connectivity issues, and I'm in process of trying various setting changes on both the Samsung and the Tivo. Thank you!@@stopthefomo

I’m saving money now to buy between Black Friday this year or Black Friday next year a new tv. But what is today a good budget for a bright 77 inch OLED or 75/85 inch high end Sony Mini Led? Distance 9 (on table) to 10 feet (on wall) but 83/85 inch is the limit for my wall. I hope somewhere between 1250 (with mini led) and 2500 (with oled) EURO but thats still a great gap. I will buy it in the first place for streaming 4K films and will connect it with a home cinema system. For the 2nd place i will buy it to connect with a Playstation 5 PRO (or maybe for the first time Xbox PRO version). I don’t play shooter games so 144hz is not nessesary. I will buy GTA 6, Race and sport games. And still important most of the time i’m a offline gamer. Today i have a >250W Panasonic Plasma radiator. Only HD 😂 so i will get 9 or 11 times more pixels with 4K but my old 42” screen will also upgraded near to 4 times bigger. I have a preference for Sony but 2500 euros is the limit. Otherwise LG with the G3/G4 MLA tech, TCL and Hisense seems also to become more and more attractive in the last years. Minimum 3 hdmi 2.1 ports So the chose is MLA OLED, QD OLED with Sony or Mini LED with Sony, Hisense or TCL. I have a feeling (can’t explain why...) that Samsung isn’t what i need + the miss of Dolby Vision (futureproof). And if i’m realistic Panasonic looks now too expensive. I don’t now if i need to chose Mini LED or (QD)OLED. The only thing im scared is that processing of mini led zones and some flickering or subs blooming. Today i think we can say no dramatic accidents with Oled and burn in. No need of more than 2500/4000 nits peak brightness. More important is a capabilities of around 250/400 nits full/90% screen (brightest oleds can do that now) for sport/games, 500/600 nits full screen is more than enough but only with mini led today. I think my ranking on qualite is 1 sony 2 pana 3 samsung and lg 5 hisense 6 tcl But Price/qualite 1 tcl 2 lg and hisense 4 sony and samsung 6 panasonic

For most people who can afford it and are not moved by the FOMO, then ABSOLUTELY, it is a great TV, period. I sit almost exactly 10 feet from my '09 Samsung 46" 8500 series LCD. It's still performing well and looks fine. While I know ANYTHING would be an upgrade after 14 years, I can't see putting a 77" let alone 83" in front of me. It's too much money. Cost-wise, my limit would probably be the 65" S90C. And that would be a stretch financially. I would hang onto it until it stopped working 🤣😂🤣. I qualify for the Samsung Educational options but the prices aren't as low was one would think. Costco's prices are the same and you get a 5 year warranty at no additional cost. Samsung I gives you 2-3 years I think and you have to pay for an extended one unless you can sweet talk the rep on the phone. I guess I could go for a larger TCL or Hisense. But I still wonder about longevity. To me spending $1000 is not throw away money. Buying a new TV every 5 or so years seems like a waste. When I visit my parents and watch their 65" Samsung, that almost seems like too much screen. The people are so huge 🤣🤣🤣.

@@bradhaughton6698 big shame. i'm just glad i noticed a slightly different model number before i almost bought one. i looked this other version up and found other people saying it was terrible in comparison. i believe it's a bit more so the more offbrands like TCL and Hisense, but you never know.

Because Google TV doesn't elevate the Sony X90L, but I originally did include it as a selection for Size + Image quality but felt the TCL Q7 QM8 and Hisense U7K U8K were better values for most people while the 77" S89C Tizen and image quality was better enough to trump the 85" Size. I did struggle with leaving it out though - I will include it in my summer blowout special when Sony drops the price of the X90L further.

I wish I can get The 85” Ux ! No joke u smart that tv they lose money by selling it in USA . in business school our business professor would tell us the concept cars, the crazy rare TVS they always lose money by making it. So they make small quantities. Even tho they lose money it’s like advertisement. They have to make those cuz ppl judge the brand integrity n worth by those beasty TV n bragging rights . 😮

I saw the deal on the U76N 100 inch on BestBuy and almost pulled the trigger but the TV is actually not a Mini-LED so I am a little hesitant. Will go see it in person to decide.

The TCL 98n inch S5 for the same price is a better tv overall especially when it comes to upscaling. Yeah, the U76 has local dimming, but the HDR on it will be weak and it will give off blooming. Not worth it being just 4% larger imo. Hisense also has much worse quality control

The minimum acceptable size for 2024 should be 100 inches. Everything that's smaller is just too tiny and should only be installed in a sauna if you have one or a typical European apartment which is hardly larger. I mean it's like 14 inch TVs from 1995. So stop bragging about all these minuscule 75 and 85 inch models and buy yourself a model for a real man - 100 inch being the smallest. Go Texas!

Except you lose sharpness the bigger the TV. However there is good news! Samsung has this new upscaling A.I. called Super Resolution, and the sharpness stays the same no matter how big or small the image got. IDK if this is a prototype or a 2024 TV but it is a Mini-LED at the very least.
