    Kaz Matsui had the best debut. Can't beat a HR on the 1st pitch in your debut. He actually went 3 seasons in a row hitting a HR in his 1st AB and they might have all been 1st pitch (dont remember). One of the craziest stats/facts in sports imo

    That last fielding play was not AT third base. The play was at first. By the third baseman, obviously. From third base, absolutely. But AT first. Yeah, I can be a PITA.

    Not even close. Just thinking of guys like Jason Heyward who hit home runs in their first at bat. Basically all of those guys would clearly have a more electric debut than a singular base hit late in the game. I would even argue with Heyward he was just as electric of a hype machine when he came up.

    For a couple seasons at least. It's been desperate watching the Jay's the past couple seasons. They should be generating so many more run based on the talent on paper. Unfortunately the game isn't played on paper and there is something very wrong with the Blue Jays offense. Blue Jays batting ranking by HR2019 - 2023, in order, 9(247), 8(88)*, 1(262), 7(200), 16(188). *If they kept that pace for a full season it would have been 237HR. They've dropped 40-50HR from that time, and currently rank 16th for the 2024 season. What is going on???
