Most Difficult Egg Rescue Ever

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Even before this sweet little duckling was born, I had to come to the rescue… twice! 30 years of incubating eggs, and this was the most difficult save. But she made it…
*I’m so happy to announce my Merchandise shop has gone live! Have a look and let me know what you think!
All eggs need to loose weight during incubating, but some just don’t. What most often works is bringing down the humidity, or scratching it with sandpaper. What is important is to cool the eggs (especially waterfowl) for some minutes a day. But some eggs just don’t loose the needed ten percent. And those eggs usually just don’t make it. Now, although it felt weird to do so and since they die without intervention anyway, I started to experiment on the egg and made a small hole in the egg. Usually this would be a threat because of bacteria entering… but I had to do something if this chick were to stand any chance at all.
Disclaimer:
I don’t breed with these ducks… but I do like to give them a chance to live.
Please if you incubate eggs… don’t help with hatching before you ate absolutely sure you don’t have a choice. It is normal for a chick to first pip the egg and then wait for 24 hours before it starts making it’s round.
And please, always feel free to ask me for advice with a difficult hatching.

@@kathyflorcruz552 Many rescue channels are fake I am not saying that this channel is fake, because I know it isn't But many are, that's why I recommend you to closely observe everything in there videos Some people deliberately hurt animals and show themselves as rescuing them They show wounds that heal in a month but should have healed in 3 months or even more, that too with no scars. That's because they first record them when they have no wound and then they deliberately hurt them to make the wound. Also, some put the animals in dangerous situations and show themselves as rescuing them. They use the same animal again and again until it dies So please be careful with this channels

Information about "the peroxide method" of egg cleaning, egg rotation, acceptable heating and humidity fluctuations are all over the net but this is the first new (to me anyways) information I've come across in a while. Thank you for posting this. If I do start hatching duck eggs, hopefully this will help increase my hatch rates.

This was my Wobbles 😭 He needed help at hatch, and I did exactly what you did. Hearing his little peeps are what kept me going. He lost some blood and was just so weak, he couldn't even hold his head up, he would just flop onto his back, unable to right himself (hence how he earned his name). But with TLC, some electrolytes, and a lot of warmth, he made it!

We rarely know them for what they are when we see them, but there is so much goodness and beauty out there, and it is people like this, showing it to the world, that give me hope because they are spreading it and working hard to show others how much better it is to live with kindness and love. Do not give up hope, even though things are hard now. Especially now. Look for the good, and look for ways to help and to be helped. Much luck to you.
