But they get a pass from me as long as they make sense for the character among other things

There's a part in the movie when Nitara first shows up, and Shang Tsung says "Isn't she beautiful?" And then Kabal response with "Her shrieks are a real turn on."

So my theory is that Shang Tsung was hooking up with Nitara. He calls her beautiful of course. But notice how out of all the fighters, it's Kung Lao he kills? Probably because he was the one who killed his beloved Nitara.

Annihilation was great. Cheap and rushed but lots of fun. Very much like a cutscene you'd see in a MK game at the time. If you don't like it you're just mean and like to pick on people slower than you.

I liked that subtle nod to Noob Saibot when Sub Zero was getting beat by Scorpion & Cole, he removed the blue parts of his costume leaving only the black. I wonder if they’ll add in Kuai Liang’s Sub-Zero in a sequel.

The thirst for Mileena is real....and accurate.

I saw this in theaters and when Kano went “Womp womp” to Sonya the sound of the film was so low and subtle I thought it was someone rude in the theater. Later knowing it was actually Kano in the film made me love that character so much more than I already did.

WWE superstar The Miz has shown interest in playing Johnny Cage. He is arrogant like him and kinda looks like him. Why not? He's already got the muscle. Perfect choice in my opinion.

Hopefully they give the next one a bigger budget. Altogether, with what they had to work with, it turned out pretty good.

The budget wasn’t the problem. The story was weak and the main character was a wet blanket and a total bore.

This was the best MK Movie recap on the web. Im still cracking up!

You got it right...not a perfect movie but was fun to watch and love your expressions are priceless....your truth and seeing positive instead critizing like a wannabe pro you rather saw the goods it showed....good job and thanks for keeping it humorous

At 8:28 where you talk about Kano going "Whah whah!", when the wife and I heard that in the theater, I totally thought some kid behind us made that noise. Later she said, "No, Kano did that." I was like, "Nah!" Then we watched it again on HBO Max, and I was like, "Hell, he did!" Lol! I'm glad he was so enjoyable in this, as Kano has been my favorite character since MK1 in 1992.

I went into the movie with zero knowledge of the games or shows other than someone ripping into the 90s movie(s?) and honestly it was still a fun watch. It was cheese in a good way.

u forgot the part where scorpions arkana activated and he caught flames and disappeared after he died meaning he was still alive all these centuries.

Scorpion's Revenge does a good job going into what Scorpion was up to after he died.

No he's Scorpion jr. so Scorpion can be even more important because Neatheralm loves fanboying their mascot. Scorpion is the most important guy in the movie even though in the orignal game his and sub-zero's fued was a side plot.

That Ninja Turtle Reference made me laugh way harder than I should. Probably because I watched the movie so much as a kid that even nearly 30 years later I can quote scenes verbatim. I also felt that the best thing about the movie was a tie between the beginning and Kano. Kung Lao was also really fun for the short time we had him and Liu Kang was at his best when paired with Kung Lao. Everyone else on Earthrealm side were varying degrees of a bit too understated with Cole Young being the worst offender. Raiden reminded me of someone's dad more than an imposing god, but his lines and acting were sharp enough to help move me past that.

I really love this movie. The portrayal of Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Kung Lao, and Kano were perfect. Raiden and Shang Tsung were fine, but not as great as the 1995 ones. Reptile was just awful. The fights were the best part. Hopefully the next one will feature the tournament.

I personally "liked" this movie it breaks my heart that people are tearing it apart 😢

It was kinda of a let down..but i enjoyed it for the most part..it has to have a better plot and more fights..like actual martial arts skills..not this arcana crap..thats what hurt the movie..not too bad but come on..how do you train to fight just to spam special moves?..i want more real fights like blood sport..

Everyone has a problem with Cole... but I loved his connection to Scorpion. I didn't have any issue with that. Personally, I loved this movie.

I was never a Mortal Kombat fan, never played the game, and I love this movie so much.

I hope Andre does review MKL: Scorpions Revenge. IMO it is the second best MK film after the 1995 one. I also want him to review the cinematic abortion that was MK Annihilation lol.
