I used to play scorpion because he's been my favourite mk character since mk9, but picked up fujin and started to main him after he came out. Reason why i main only fujin and scorpion is because both has such badass play styles. However I would like if Fujin got a little buff, I can safely say that after almost 1 month of his release that he needs a little buff. Not dmg wise, but more of his crushing blows. like I mean it, the amount of crushing blows you can't combo off is annoying. For example I mean that I should be able to combo off fujins 11U4 after he gets his crushing blow, if I'm not wrong shang thung has a similar string where he can combo off if he gets a crushing blow on it. Last is, some of fujins attacks need speed buff, after playing alot with him I can assure you how hard it's to punish other people with him, speed is not the only reason it's also because he's attacks that you can punish other people with have a really short reach and you need to be right up close to hit most of his safe attacks. So I think if some of his attacks got a little faster while would be great. Fast attacks with low dmg.

Bro... I'm actually still looking at who my main is... I've tried every character.. And so far.. It's between geras, Kano, sub zero and scorpion to be Hounest... But in online.. It's been geras and kano... Sub zero is good but for some reason I can't use him as I should use him... I did decide Baraka but he's boring..

I honestly don't have a main though I play Noob and Sindel the most. I play Noob because I remember playing back in Mk9 and really loving him. Plus Black is one of my favorite colors so yeah 😅. Sindel is because I have an easy time playing her. I'm able to do some high damage with her and really enjoy playing her. Also just for a bonus I do play Frost, Erron Black, Fujin and Joker Sorry if this was annoying to read. good video mate

I play a few characters D’Vorah, Kabal, Baraka & Shao kahn D’Vorah because she was new in MKX. I mained her there, Brought her back for 11. Kabal because He’s a speedster(I love super swift characters, and I also play every fast character in any fighting game. Plus he’s safe on a lot of stuff) Baraka because He’s typically known for his damage, but I play his other two Variations Bone picker & Berserker because I find the damage in marauder to be mainstream or overrated. And I was in love with his third variation when it came out. It was meant to be lol. Shao Kahn because He’s Considered low tier, and the boss/big bad character for like 25 years or so? Lol. Also, Shao Kahn has some nice looking combos.

I was completely new to fighting games when I bought MK11 last year, so I knew absolutely nothing about mechanics and playstyles and such. The first character I picked up was Skarlet. I chose her simply because I found her blood powers really cool, and to be honest, because I find her stunningly beautiful. She’s still my main. Everyone says she’s low tier, but to me, even though she lacks in some areas, she’s amazing. By using her online, I win more often than I lose (unless I fight Scorpion or Kung Lao lol). That’s why I don’t like tier lists. Even the characters at the bottom of other people’s lists can be the perfect character for you, like Skarlet is for me. I’m still learning about fighting games, so I actually found this video helpful. For example, I had no idea what footsies were, but now I do, so thank you!

Same, when I started I picked Sindel, and, I’ve never played a fight game so...it was difficult in the beginning because I didn’t get it how to punish or make a combo but, Today I think I’m a good sindel main, and is so much fun playing with her, better than play with Liu Kang or scorpion or subzero, I’m kind of tired of playing against them they are soooo annoying 🙄

Ana Luísa Souza I say as long as you have fun with your main, that’s the most important thing. I’ve played Sindel quite a bit and she really is fun to play. And I completely agree about fighting the same characters over and over again. It gets old very quickly. It’s a lot more fun when there’s a variety in opponents.

Tier lists honestly don’t mean anything unless you’re playing in a tournament. If you just a casual player or online warrior just play whoever you like. I’ve mained Raiden and Shao Kahn since the game came out and they were bottom of tier lists for the longest time, yet I was getting consistent wins with them over Scorpion or Sub Zero.

Actually he is considered a zoner. I researched and his clone is considered a projectile. He plays best mid to long range because of his clone. That is not to say he is bad at close. He is a neutral Playstyle which means he can get in. But also notice that the clone has no hit box? So it’s an actual projectile otherwise it will have a hurt box making it a part of noob

Justyn jmsr considering his play style involves around his clone, which is a projectile, a zoning tool by definition means he is a zoner play style. He is most effective playing zoning. I would label him a neutral character. Because he heavily relies on spacing. He dosent have the best mix ups to open people up. Just because a pro player uses him does not mean that play style is define by that. Since they are pro players, they can use anyone and play them efficiently outside of their normal strong suits. Justyn jmsr did u read the part of former pro player? Not just content creator, heck sonic fox is now one too. I mean it does not take that much to analyze and honestly all perspectives are subjective. But based on tool kits you can make up on what they are meant to be. Not sure why u think everything that sonic fox says is valid or 100% true. He once made a tier list covering all character stating they are all well S tier or something. And said the community just sucks. Tier list is constantly vastly different from each pro player. Will you play a character the same way he does? Impossible because he uses flawless blocking, wavedashing, perfect blocking etc, stronger mechanics that rewards rushdown/closequarters. Which most of the playerbase cannot utilize that stuff. Besides, I have played him, I even made a combo guide with him in the past. Sure I dont play with him much but I have noticed his playstyle. The most tools he offers are from far to mid range. That is not to say he is terrible at close range as he is a hybird but that is where his strength relies on.

Justyn jmsr the way ur commenting u must be a child or a major sonic fox fanboys. Noob saibot isn’t a rushdown character and sonic fox has never said noob is a rushdown character. Noob is a neutral character and he’s not a zoner either but the term “zoning” has a few different definitions depending on who u ask. The definition I agree with when it comes to zoning, I don’t consider noob a zoner simply bc of the fact he doesn’t play the same way like skarlet or cetrion does who have multiple projectiles and play full screen. Noob likes to play from mid screen/ full screen at times. He is not a rushdown character by any means, he doesn’t have any high pressuring staggers, he doesn’t have any mids he can stagger to generate pressure either like most of the rushdown in this game. U just seem to be delusional or idk what it is bc it’s so odd u took that much offence to someone saying noob is a zoner. He’s sure as hell not rushdown

MadDoggGames noob isn’t a zoner, he’s a footsie character that rushes down people. Noob wants to play at his f2 or b3 range. Full screen is where he struggles most

I use Liu Kang because I love Shaoilin monk and Bruce Lee inspired characters. The bicycle kick and flying dragon kick are two of my favorite special moves in fighting game. The plus for me is that Liu is top tier and I love his design and balanced playstyle.

Your video just made it even clearer to me why I chose Raiden in the first place. I think he covers all the things I like the most about a character, from his background (a mentor and, in his "dark version", a fallen hero) to his play style (not exceeding at anything, but being able to do a little bit of everything) - although it's been really hard to learn how to use him well, mainly due to footsies. Amazing content, MadDogg! Glad to see people like you do some much for this community! :-)

Kabal is my main, personally my favorite character in the MK franchise. Pretty neat power he has too

Good strategy. I recently used some of these same ideas to pick up Sub-zero full time--the mix-ups, ease of combos, and also nostalgia, as the avalanche traps reminded me of his MK2 & 3 play style.

My choice depends on the game, but I usually go for the more agile characters like Kitana, Mileena and Sonya, with Kitana being the go-to; however, for MK11, I've found that I really like Sindel and she's actually become my favorite character for this game. Her uppercut is killer; her moves are fun, but it's her combos that are great. Hard to block for many. The only downside is getting a long-range "spammer" who just throws stuff at you. I can do that, too, with her, but it's hard to get into close range to stop the other opponent.

I'm a huge martial artist nerd and I've been in love with Kung Lao's strings since MKX because they just look so awesome. Yea I main Kano

I’ve been a Kung Lao fan for decades. The hat throw is my favorite MK attack. Recently I changed to Kabal and Jade, they just sense to me.

I main Scorpion, I’ve mained him in every MK game I’ve played (5, 9, X, and 11) mostly just because he’s cool. In 11 I made my own Scorpion variation that’s kind of a zoner and kind of an all rounder, using death spin at long range and demon breath at short range to force opponents back or knock them down

Reptile, Kano and Kung Jin were my mains in mkx. That carried over into mk11, so now I main Kano (Dirtbag and a custom variation)

My main is Jade. I like her speed & agility as well as her use of weapons like the staff & razor rang. I also like how she’s very poised & almost doesn’t look like a fighter until you see how effective she is! I also enjoy playing with Baraka & Kabal. I guess I like how they’re all pretty slick & use handheld weapons as their main attack.

Jax main since day one. I’ve tried to play with other characters, but I just don’t feel as good as I do when I play as him. Like I don’t have as much fun. I remember when I first got the game, I tried out everyone in practice mode and Jax happened to fit like a glove. I like the sounds his fists make when he hits other characters and how they heat up. Plus, he’s a bully in this game.

Great video! Personally, I'm a Liu Kang main. Really I picked him because as a kid I loved playing as the main hero. Plus when I play him today, I found his easy to pick up, balanced style was what I was looking for. The other characters I use are Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, and the Joker. Now my reasons for picking them are not really on playstyle. Shang Tsung I picked because his morphing into the other ninjas reminded me of Chameleon, a character I like. Nightwolf? I loved his revenant skins and over time liked his overall presentation. Joker? Favorite DC villain, hands down.

Speaking as someone who last was a serious fighting gamer when Tekken 3 was the big hotness, I tend to favor a character that can do a little bit of everything like Jin Kazama with rushdown tactics being my backup style. Funnily enough, this made Nina Williams my secondary main because I could ignore her command grabs in favor of waiting for my opening and just going blitz on the opponent. These days, I don't have time to get into the Meta so I just pick characters I think are cool and learn them as best I can.

Came back to this video after first seeing it elder gods know how long ago and found myself agreeing with it even more. Currently Maining Noob, Sindel and Frost while having The Joker, Rain, Spawn and Shang Tsung as my sort of back up or just for fun characters. Oh and awesome video👍🤘

My mains are Kollector: He was the character that mad fighting games click for me and gave me success early and now Raiden: Love the lore, powers, and spacing of him Fujin: Im all about high execution things Kotal: Counter zoning with that heal and those totems

Honestly boys, just go for the one you like. It doesn't matter if their playstyle is "zoner" or "pressure" but if u only pick a main for abilities and not actually like them, you won't have fun playing the game

I main Robocop. His whole play style is keeping the enemy far away (he has two short and easy combos that are designed to punish the enemy for getting too close, and force them back into a corner), and then hammering them down with projectiles. He’s incredibly difficult to deal with, unless you’re Jade, Nightwolf or Jacqui.

lmao Johnny, Cassie, Liu Kang, Kung Lao will close the gap quickly before you can react, robocop is a very bad character. Jade is really not much of a rush down, she has long reach with her stick but she is also slow and vulnerable.

Hey I'm new to your channel and I love it already! I'm looking forward to watching more and applying the knowledge to the game. I've been maining scorpion but I want to find a new character to learn and thinking Liu Kang.

Scorpion’s my main for the whole MK franchise.

My main is Spawn, because he's just the most fun to play for me, and all his actions are really badass. Not to mention that he is actually my favourite comic book character, so not only I like him the most as a playable character, but also as a character in general.

This is the best “how to pick a main” video I’ve seen.

I main Noob Saibot. I was the button masher type of player, but now I’m a combo player. Noob’s regular attack combos are super easy to do, and I found this out by button mashing and now i’ve mastered how I mash the controls to get the good combos. I’m also a huge fan of his special attacks.

In MKX my main was Tanya (the stick variation). I was so good with it and enjoyed it so much. In MK11, well, I've only started playing it two days ago so I don't know yet, but I like Jade's play style so far.. Haven't even tried all characters yet.

Somehow fell in love with Raiden during my journey of being in the MK fandom, I loved his powers and callouts but as I played through mk11 I really started to like his personality too. He's always been my main player. Kitana is my 2nd place if i'm bored as Raiden or lost as Raiden too many times. She's just a badass and I love her designs. She's also fun to play as in general. Liu Kang is my favorite as well but I hate playing as him because I guess I prefer playing as long range/spacing characters with combos that are easy to remember. Random characters I enjoy playing as from time to time are Johnny Cage and Kotal Kahn.

I like Scorpion and Lui Kang because of quick combos and learning path. And for the somewhat agressive playstyle if done right

I am new to MK11, I main Sonya because I like the play style, she feels like a brawler. Plus she was the first I tried and I just stuck with her. I can do high damage combos but I still have much to learn. I’m 2/2 so far in Kombat League

Before I bought MK11 I planned on main Skarlet and Erron Black because they looked cool, but once I picked up the game I found myself more comfortable using Sonya and Kano. Kano is still my main since then because I LOVE his design in MK11 and his fatalities are great, plus I love his introductory lines and attitude lol. Lately I've been playing a lot with Johnny and he's super fun to use too!

Im in the process of maining Rain. He’s safe of 80% of his attacks and his dash speed makes it easy to whiff punish which I love doing.

How I pick main character: trying combos in practice mode with standing opponent for 15 mins > finding opponent in online matchmaking > ending up with 1/6 ratio

Having only played Mortal Kombat 11, meaning it was my first experience in playing the game, I wasn’t sure who to main. However after watching gameplay as well as the cutscenes of the stories of all MK games, I decided I’d main Sindel. The reason for this is because she, as a character, really intrigued me, I just loved her design, who she is and how deep her lore goes. I was just drawn to her. Anyway, That’s why I main Sindel XD.

Same. Ppl say she’s a bitch now and they hate her but I really liked her and I didn’t know her as a good character bc I haven’t played the older games. I think it’s a bias of the fans knowing her heroic side. If she had always been evil it probably wouldn’t be a big deal and they could appreciate her character now the way I do

@@nevafails6185 It may not seem like a big deal, but having that disconnect from Kitana and the rest of the Edenians because she is evil honestly makes me hate the new change. I loved the special relationship she had with Kitana, and in turn, Kitana saving her from mind control was honestly what made me love those two characters. The evil Sindel honestly is bad just because of her only liking Shao Kahn, she has no interesting relationships with anyone because everyone hates her now.

@@viktoryc like I said I didn’t play the games where all that happened but it looks like that’s going to happen again. Katanas boyfriend is in control of time. She probably won’t be evil much longer. I only know the evil version of her and she’s a bad ass villain imo. But I can see her being a heroic character as a cool thing too.

She is pretty damn bad ass so I'd want her to become heroic, but still not take crap from anyone who tries to control her (aka making the redemption arc actually character developing) so I like the kind of sassy personality, just not her intentions

Main D'vorah up here. I absolutely love her look, playstyle - and her overall creepy bug vibe. I love what she represents also - protecting your family at all costs. Everything she's doing its for the Hive. I adore that. Her voice, attitude, and everything about her just drawing me to her. P.S - I really love that they added her stings out at all time - it is completing her bug look.

I have been using noob as a main forever but after applying your tips I changed to Erron black. 🎉

I decided to main Spawn and Scorpion (I also have Rambo as a pocket fighter) mostly because I enjoy fast gameplay and flashy combos from both of these characters. Though Spawn may be slower his combos never cease to impress me.

I have been doing sub zero lately I'm starting to learn him more and more

I just watched this for fun! My main has been liu kang since mk9 because of the story mode and all the way to mk11. I still enjoy picking him till this day

My mains: Scorpion: He was easy to learn and has good kombos and his skins are very suitable for him. Kabal: He is very easy to learn and has safe and unsafe strings but you have to be smart and his skins are amazing. Sub-Zero: He has possibly the easiest krushing blow and is a good rush down and zoner but some of his skins are terrible. Noob Saibot: He is a good zoner and rushdown making his kombos even more deadly and his game play deadlier. Liu Kang: He is probably one of the most easy to play and high damaging characters in the game and his game play is excelent. Kitana: She is very easy to play and got alot of buffs making her gameplay even deadlier and stronger Jade: Has easy game play and good kombo starters, she is a god. And her skins are awsome Raiden: He's got alot of safe strings and he is a top tier character with alot of good finshers

Is anybody gonna realize most of his character skins are the klassic skins? Well i mean, yeah i gotta respect that, id main all of the klassic skins.

U with Johnny is like me with jax I've been playing him sense I've picked up the game when I was 7. I love the character ,play style and have a very high win rate that I can only achieve when I use him

I main lui kang because i got a coo skin for him and i like fire (keep up the good work)

I main Cetrion for her playstyle, lore, and just her character in general. I also side main Sindel because she is a baddie and her playstyle is fun!

Rambo often people underestimate him but once you learn how to play him you are unstoppable. I also like his playstyle Edit: I also main scorpion because he is well rounded in every place

I like to have both a male and female main, plus a couple backups. It’s always been Kabal for me when available, and Mileena. I pick them based on style of play and the bonus of looking good in the process. Before Mileena I rotated between Sonya, Skarlet and Kitana, as they are all uniquely engaging via pressure game, mixups and zoning. Now that all characters are out though I’m leaning towards Rain (great pressure game and so many options) for my backup male main and either Sindel or Sonya for backup female. I’ve been away from the game for a while so will need to lab them both to decide. Probably Sindel since she’s much further from just a female equivalent of Rain.

Haven't played MK11 yet, but in other fighting game I usually pick a Grappler type character, so maybe I'll start things off with Jax, Geras or Sheeva. I do like Kung Lao a lot from his portrayal and looks, so that might be another option for me when I buy this game in the future

I decided to main Noob Saibot on the first day MK11 was released since he was my favorite Mortal Kombat kharacter. I began to memorize his gameplay and turned him into an amazing rush down kharacter!

How did I pick my main character, Kotal Kahn? Simple, because he looks like my former main character from another fighting game, Tekken Tag 2's Ancient Ogre👍🏾

For the longest time I mained kabal and thought I was good with him. I was really just incredibly random and spammy with him. More recently I picked up shao kahn and I somehow do way better with him. I have a more gameplan, I play calculated mind games, and I love putting people in the corner with him. Honestly he's my best character at this point, which is kinda wierd. If I ever come across someone who can consistently flawless block my forward 3,4 I'm basically handicapped, playing about half as well as usual.

i main scorpion, mainly because my dad got me into MK when i was young and it was his favorite character so i kind of just picked up on it and loved the way he played and looked
