Haokah is the Lakota-Sioux Spirit Clown. Wakinyan is the Lakota word for Thunder Spirit

Raiden sounds like an old master. His voice lines sound like he smokes a lot, but it also makes his vocal chords sound like lightning is surging through it.

From actually wearing a straw hat, to plain robes and that raspy voice. The biggest of smiles plastered themselves across folks who grew up with the original movie. So awesome.

Chris Lambert brings such a level of class to the Raiden role, even with just voice acting! As if he never left it in 1995!

Christopher's voice really fits a badass old mentor Raiden, which he is. The skin and the voice are only reasons I might actually come back to this game.

Game Raiden has always been monotone and boring. Lambert has always been the best version of Raiden.

17:13 Chris' voice just works so incredibly well for more somber interactions like these. The way he says "I sense you have lost faith in me", he sounds genuinely sad to know that he let Kung Lao down. I wish Raiden gave more emotional depth like this more often.

DAMN!!!!!! more than 20 years later and he can STILL do that epic voice.

His raspy voice fits the character of Raiden well...almost like he speaks electricity in a sense.

Every time a movie skin intro took place, I smiled hard. Especially with the Shang Tsung ones!

Christopher Lambert is an absolute legend. Glad he did this and glad everyone had the foresight to get him in MK media at least one more time.

Damn. Making a movie skin AND getting the original actor to play him?! That's authenticity at its finest. Also, THUNDER TAKE YOU!

No matter how old he gets, Christopher Lambert's voice remains badass! Too bad when he goes up against Dark Raiden, he never says: "There can be only one!" though. That would be icing on the cake! xD

“HELL YES!!” Hearing the original MK movie actor’s voices just brought me back memories of the 1995 movie, also, it references Carl Weathers doing Jax in MKX. Christopher Lambert is well casted as Raiden back in 1995, I’m so glad to hear the OG trio’s cast today, it made me want to watch the movie again.

A definite shame they couldn't get Robin Shou to reprise Liu Kang.

It's why Joker is a frequent appearance now -- the events of those two games and Vs. DC Universe are canon to the events of Mortal Kombat. Somewhat. I think. It's kinda murky, but I *think* it is. Perks of a multiverse in storytelling, canon kinda becomes irrelevant since anything could or could NOT be canon.

How disappointing that NRS didn't write a mirror match intro with Raiden with him.prclaiming "There can be ONLY ONE" Knowing they'd have Christopher Lambert to play the character in a Premier Skin again....

It would be cool if they recorded the rest of his dialogue later on, but as is, this is more than fine. Lambert's voice may be damaged but he still has singular charisma to rival Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa; it's a non-issue. Netherrealm really went above and beyond for the DLC here.

I felt the same way about Tagawa. There's nothing wrong with his delivery - he's still the smooth affably evil Shang Tsung - but it's way too low for the environment. If not for subtitles, I couldn't make out what he's saying.
