What's funny about the first iteration of Shang Tsung is that the only reason he had his morphing ability is because there wasn't enough memory left to give him proper attack animations beyond shooting flaming skulls.

Og Hanzo was something else, he managed to move on from his grief and vengeance and found his redemption in Kuai Liang. It was truly a beautiful arc. All told in walls of text. Excellent character. NRS stripped Hanzo of his complexities and compassion and made him an angry man-child. They never did Hanzo justice.

MK bosses: "To hell with your clan." Scorpion: "NO. TO HELL WITH YOU."

I honestly think Shao Khan was worse in (U)MK3/T, he was less predictable and the jumping knee charge and hammer being added gave him more moves for you to have to anticipate.

Half of it being just straight-up cheating on the A.I.'s behalf because you couldn't throw them and they could duck your uppercut and do their own uppercut, which you couldn't duck. Shang Tsung though, in the first game, was honestly not that difficult. Sure, you'd probably lose once or twice because you wouldn't anticipate him morphing the first time, but Shao Kahn's moves were all faster and would take out like a quarter of your health in one hit. Jump-kicking was also way less safe with him, he could punish that shit so bad.

In Deadly alliance they're using actual styles. For example, hapkido and tang su do. I took both styles and some of the moves represented in the game were actual moves we learned in class. After scorpion wins when he puts both his fists straight down in front of him, that's called ready stance and is the stem of all moves in hapkido. Just thought it was cool to see stuff I learned for 8 years in a video game.

Battle Stances is like a precursor of MKX Variations, but can be swap during gameplay anytime to make long combos..and its not affect special . Still, variations suck ass.

Out of all my complaints of deadly alliance I say it’s greatest weaknesses is the music was boring and some stages were too but some were decent but the fighting styles weapons and graphics are better than deception or armageddon

Man Shao Khan used to feel impossible to beat. Finally beating him was like a right of passage lol

Man, the graphics and art sytle for Deadly Alliance hold up incredibly well!

Scorpion/Hanzo always had a soft spot for Kuai Liang. Can't believe it traces back to his MK2 ending.

Mk1,MK2,MK3 my childhood. Good old day's, wish I could go back , what a nostalgia. 👏🤙👍

To this day the way scorpion kills onaga is still my favorite character ending out of all mk games! The dude used his own body like a f**k off cannon shot through onaga's chest! That's just badass.

Maybe Scorpion is evil throughout story modes (mk 9 and most of mkx), but at tower endings he seems to be a hero

Man this was like watching my entire childhood in 30 mins lol.

I remember the first time I beat Onaga in deception I didn't know that you could destroy the crystals to make it easier so I ended up beating him without breaking them with Kabal so I'm still kinda proud of that.

Deadly alliance was so awesome when released. (specifically scorpion). Awesome character design and fighting styles.

Shao Kahn, Corrupted Shinnok and Kronika will forever be the Hardest Bosses to face on Very Hard mode😭😭

I mainly remember deadly alliance but i must say, the champion screen of shang tsung, quan-chi and onaga are pretty freaky to me. Especially onaga

It's to expand the Scorpion vs Sub Zero Rivalry since now it's a fued between brothers and not just two ninjas who are basically the same type of ninja/character but on different clans and just different powers. It's not that bad now that you think of it.

I remember watching you play a wrestling game and the fact that you named your character Sub-Zero and your youtube named finally clicked lmao. Proudest moment of my life.

Not gonna lie. MK3 was low key the best looking game up until MK9 and after. Those middle years were hella flaccid. Glad to see MK finally making a worthwhile comeback 🥳

Don't know why but the scorpion from MK9 feels the most Dangerous scorpion.

Scary is probably not quite the adjective, they are definitely less cartoonish and much grimmer, more atmospheric. The original MK certainly had a more serious and authentic martial arts tournament feel.

shang tsung fireballs sound gave me so many nightmares when i was a kid

Kuai Liang is pretty badass as scorpion. Love the change. It suits him.

MK 1992 to 11 was Hanzo Hasashi. MK 1 was Kuai Liang, who was replaced by Hanzo Hasashi after Harumi's Revenge.

I miss 3D arenas and combat styles so much. Mortal Kombat used to be so inovative.

I always hated winning and getting a shitty ending. But always thought it was funny that you whoop an ass so hard they explode.

Now if Shang Tsung had the ability to transform into someone mid fight in the newer MK games he’d be OP as hell but extremely hard to play as

In the 90's at the arcade MK 1, 2 and 3 were pure dope. People crowded together to see if someone did know how to play and know the fatalities. There were guys trying to cover their hands while doing fatalities because they didn't want to share the holy secret moves :D

Beating him was a matter of retrying until he didn't spam shoulder charges followed by multiple hammers, if he turned it on you were auto-toast.

MK 1,2 and Umk 3 are the best Mk games, I also like the new one
