Does anyone else think that the choreography for the cutscenes is simply amazing? The attacks and movements are fluid and have tangible weight behind them, and a lot of characters get to have their personal fighting styles portrayed accurately as individuals (Johnny with his exaggerated movements like flip kicks and splits, Jax throwing heavy haymakers, Sub-Zero using his ice only to supplement his already impressive technique as opposed to relying on it, etc)

Especially every knockout during the fight in Quan Chi's fortress with Johnny and Sonya, and also the scene where Johnny beats up Smoke and Jax in the forest next to the entrance to Raiden's Temple

Quan Chi's death scene is my favorite moment in the entire series! It was so cathartic seeing Hanzo finally gain closure for his tragedy. Not to mention that "GET OVER HERE!" was just beautiful!

Throughout the MK timeline even until MK11, Raiden remains the character that sacrificied the most to save others

I loved the look on Liu Kang's face when Dark Raiden asserted himself. He went from vengeful revenant to "Welp, we are so fucked."

I still can't get over how Johnny Cage went from a cardboard cutout character to one of the best developed dudes in gaming.

This game's cutscenes really were filmed a lot like a movie. They used actual custom environments instead of just re-using stages like MK9 did. It's very professional and just makes me like the presentation a whole lot more.

It looks like they are even going further in the next installment, with that crazy and funny plot involving time travel and younger or alternate versions of many characters facing each other. Lot of potential for unexpected twists and interesting situations that fans cant wait to see. The story mode in the fighting games is a secondary aspect but still relevant part that developers use to neglect. Since the MK2011 reboot Netherrealm is giving to the plot the attention it deserves, with enhanced cutscenes and more depeloved general storyline, resulting in a more cinematic and interesting tone that improves the game.

By the end of Mortal Kombat X, only Jax, Sub-Zero, and Scorpion were freed, with the others just spouting out hateful comments to their opponents when they had to fight, but were otherwise empty husks. Then when they take over the Netherrealm, they go to war with Earthrealm (where most of them were born), kill Sonya, and act like Evil Demented childish psychos. At this point, everyone has lost sympathy for them since they're not brainwashed anymore, and even their past selves call their revenant selves out on this

That did not hit me for years until i was playing the mobile game for a while with bo rai cho.

I had such high hopes that Raiden was going to battle Shinnok and bring the revenants back.

Even the new mortal kombat movie was nice, these cutscenes pieced together are a masterpiece of epicness.

According to the MK creators, Johnny cage was supposed to have been the main hero slash character from the beginning.

The funniest thing is watching them say an "intimidating" line before a fight only for the video to cut to them knocked out on the floor half a second later.

Amazing scene

I miss the good ole days... the hay day of this game. It felt sureal looking back at how much fun I had playing and watching Sonic Fox destroy all the tournaments. 2015-2018 were amazing years for Mortal Kombat in my house!

The ending still hits hard. Seeing raiden do the monologue was too cool

What I learned in this video: 1) The Lin Kuei temple has an ungodly amount of stairs, which all Sub Zero's subordinates need to haul ass up if they want to speak to him; and 2) Sub Zero spends at least a portion of his day lording in an enormous throne room.

Watching this for the first time ever right now, and at least as of just a couple minutes in, I have to disagree - I think MK9 looks way better so far. Maybe not as realistic, but the characters feel a lot more expressive and the style has more personality. Raiden in particular looks like he underwent a MASSIVE downgrade.
