I was in a medically induced coma back in April because of an intentional overdose. I was in that coma for nearly 3 weeks. When they pulled out the breathing tube they were literally praying because at that point only God knew if I was going to make it. For some reason I was never offered physical therapy. Then my father committed suicide a little over a month ago. I picked up yoga again shortly after that. Yoga is one of few things that are helping me today. My mother even practices with me sometimes. Thank you, Adriene, for this beautiful practice. I got frustrated at first because my wrists and knees are still weak, but the sweat and shake reminds me that I'm still alive. Even if things are messy and difficult, I'm going to keep moving. I love you and I love everyone in the yoga community. Pain is temporary. 🖤🖤🖤

Luka I’m proud of you for having a forward attitude. Something that really helped me after I lost my son was The Trauma Prayer by Jim Banks. It’s on KZread with a heart cover or blue jay - they are the same , about 20 min. I would listen to it at bedtime to calm my thoughts and physical body. I believe it will help you too. Hugs to you!

I cried about 1 minute into the video, while doing child's pose.. I felt so lonely. Being an adult is more hard work than they let on 😂 I cried again just now because I realised over 10,000 people did the yoga with me. Not so alone after all. That's a nice thought to hold on to. Thank you.

Literally was in tears... That practice left a strong impression on me. Now almost a year later I was able to finish it with all the planks, but that wasn't the most important I realize. @@fluffyross2297 Happy Monday, yogi Sis. It's cool we were on our mats at the same time in two different time zones. Thanks for the well wishes. I am getting my groove back and feeling better. I had another great run this grand rising. Now, it's time to grade before I run some errands. I hope your day is off to a wonderful start.

Hello from São Paulo, Brazil. Today was my 1st yoga practice since the passing of my loved cat Donatela, on April 1st 2022. She used to stay with me while I practiced yoga and meditated. She even used to lend me "her" yoga mat. I finally got back to doing yoga again and, amongst so many good yoga instructors on the internet, I chose Adriene who has a soothing voice and very good yoga classes. Thank you, Adriene.

I had a little moment during this one - I've never quite been able to connect to my breath as "spirit", but when you said that the breath could relate or even depict, I suddenly saw my breath as my internal storyteller. As a writer, this really hit home, and got me excited to build the habit of checking in with my breath throughout the day, and catching up on my story.

I was unfocused and antsy, but when she said that, I came back to my breath and felt the perspective switch. It’s scary how impermanent and changeable perspective (and therefor life) can be with a simple awareness to a motor function, or maybe the scary part is that we aren’t all doing it all the time.

Greet, May 19, 2024. This definitely generated some heat. I think I did this practice around the same time in May 2023 or possibly in April 2023. Today I may have made mental noises of dissatisfaction when attempting to do the hover with knees. However, I noticed I remained in hover and in plank poses much longer. That's not to say there wasn't any wobbling. But the wobble effect took longer than the last time around. 😊 Building of strength and flexibility continues. Namaste 💙

This morning as I was practicing I felt myself getting dizzy, several times having my blood pressure drop when I got up from one of the movements. ( I have this sometimes especially if it is hot and I am not getting enough water or salt. ) I realized it was too fiery of a practice for me in that moment, drank some water, and sat down as the video continued. Doing some neck rolls and seated twists I listened as you explained the vinyasa that I was no longer following and I sat in appreciation knowing there was a community of people who also listen and practice along and joined them for the final stretch at the end. For years now I have been picking a new YWA video to practice each day, tuning in and moving. Today I am remembering my love for this virtual yoga community and space. So just wanted to say thank you. Thank you Adriene and this whole community of practice ❤

I have fallen out of my yoga practice and did a video three days ago that reminded me that I feel my best when I am practicing. I decided that day to practice once a day and follow the December calendar (or a video that makes most sense for me that day if adjustment is needed) so that I can be prepped and in a routine by the time the January calendar begins. Today was a little difficult and wobbly for me which frankly I am not used to! I cannot wait for some of the muscle memory and strength to come back as I get back into the swing of things. Thank you Adriene, your energy never fails to affect me even on days I do now want to be on the mat! xoxo

Like before, but not on a gravel floor w/o a mat. A good sweaty workout! Side planks are tough but doable. Practice, practice and more practice! Core feels pretty good. I notice when I have spinal compression spasms, I fall back on my core and realign it which helps a lot! Let's go out and enjoy some Tennessee heat! Gracias nena!

I woke up late this morning, so I did this practice at night after I got home from work. Coincidentally, someone from work upset me and I used this yoga as my anger relief - which is working! I feel a lot better, I forgive her and I let it go. Namaste.

This was my first day doing this video, and my third or fourth day in a row of doing yoga regularly for the first time in a long time. My sessions are focused on connecting to my heart space usually for emotional release, and for movement in the morning and/or at night. I jumped into this this morning just wanting to kind of move and wake up, it wasn't specifically heart focused so I wasn't expecting it to get intense but it really did! This one was one of the more physically strenuous practices I've done, and I got really tired near the end. I wanted to stop, but something within me told me to keep going because I was connecting to my strength, look how long I was able to hold the weight of my body up.. I always doubt myself, and my strengths, and this was a wonderful, physical way to remind myself that I'm stronger than I feel most of the time. I started crying, and it was very good. Thank you so much for this work you do Adriene. 💛

I feel really good after today yoga practice. I had to pause the video quite a few times, because of my joints hurting like they do with the fibro. But I really enjoyed this practice, thank you so much Adriene. You are amazing, see you tomorrow Namaste. 🙏💙
