Moreton Bay line burners
Took advantage of the great run of weather and headed in to Moreton Bay via the Brisbane river. Had a quick look for a jew but no luck. Caught a few small fish at the mouth while I waited to see what the wind was going to do.
When I was happy it was going to be a good day, I headed out looking for surface action. It didn't take long and I was casting stick baits to surface feeding Longtail Tuna. After catching a couple of them, I headed back to Harries to try for a big snapper. Not sure if it was a snapper but I sure hooked something big!
Full noise on the way home is always a sign of good weather!!

Great stuff....I left Se Qld to move back to Adelaide....been here 6 weeks ...geez I miss the tuna....got a few longtails from the kayak last two seasons now the real challenge is to catch a Southern Bluefin locally on lure or fly....could be epic or incredibly frustrating.......I'll have to live vicariously through your content which is always good and very informative...thanks

Mac tuna are just as much fun as longtail imo mate. Obviously not as good to eat. Cheers mate, get back out there mate, now is the time!

@@Peter_Herbst_Fishing I’ve been here for 10 yrs this May mate. I really miss the ocean but have taken up deer hunting and fish some of the lakes and rivers locally. It’s not the same, but does appease my need to hunt and gather. Hoping to visit my folks on Straddie this time next year. Take it easy Peter. New sub here 👍🏼🇦🇺

@@Peter_Herbst_Fishing during COVID we were able to purchase 9.5 acres with a tract of woods connected to a 650 acre state forest. We back into a 180 acre corn/bean field. Lots of white tail deer traveling through. My boys and I have great success every season. Love fresh venison!

Man, there are some freight trains at your snapper spot. You do well not to lose your cool when you get a bust off!! What weight Amegari were you using, mate - it looks like there are a couple of different weights in that 110 size - a 48g and a 30g. Cheers...

Seems ok for a pretty cheap reel tbh. Think I’ll try a Saragossa 6000 next. Hard to find a strong spin reel that doesn’t brake the bank. Pretty happy with my Vanford 4000 on my lighter rod.

If your looking at buying a new reel I’d recommend the shimano Stradic SW 6000xg. I was also thinking the Saragossa 6000 but you don’t have the 6.2 gear ratio. Definitely need the faster retrieve rate chasing the pelagics in the bay!
