    Thanks for showing the parents. Have you ever done a video on the different colors? I'm great at canine color genetics but don't understand the snake names or dominance. What makes a "clown" a clown? What is "Pastel"?

    She laid them like that. I don’t know the exact reason for it but it happens some times. The eggs are still healthy and hatch normally but they just look wrinkly. For whatever reason they calcified that way. I’m not sure if it’s related to diet or hydration or maybe how the eggs were positioned while developing. I feed, water, and care all of them the same but it seems every season I have one or two clutches like this. 🤷‍♂️

    Does mould form on the eggs if they’re left with the mum?

  • @ashrowan2143

    @ashrowan2143

    It's not necessarily any more likely to form on the eggs with or without the mum. Mold generally happens either if an egg dies or if the eggs themselves get wet

    Not really, mold forms no matter the case. He puts the eggs with mom because, from the moment she gets pregnant she doesn't eat anything, and she will continue not to eat anything until her eggs hatch. Most species of snakes form no bonds with their children, they leave the moment the eggs have hatched. Not to mention putting them in an incubator increases their chance of hatching, survivability rate, amount of control in their "nest", and is overall more safe AND healthy for the mother and eggs. To answer the question with a question, would you rather have a baby in a clean hospital or dirty den?

    I guess you are referring to the Burmese pythons in the Everglades. There are actually 40 different species of pythons. Not all are big and invasive. Out of curiosity do you comment this on cat videos? Did you know cats are far more invasive than pythons? I’m not saying that the snakes in the Everglades are not a serious problem but cats much more invasive and are destroying bird populations. But the media doesn’t report on it because it’s not a scary sounding as snakes. www.scientificamerican.com/article/cats-kill-a-staggering-number-of-species-across-the-world/
