MORE JAPANESE MEMES EXPLAINED

Ойын-сауық

Funny Japanese meme compilation
My second Japanese Meme Review! Explaining things I find on Twitter related to all types of Japanese culture, from obscure to mainstream.
---
Here's the text from the part I cut, if you're interested.
Obviously I made the last Meme Review video for, what I assumed, would be at most 300 views. I was not expecting, in any world, for it to be as big as it is. Keeping in mind that 99% of the feedback is positive, I would like to address some criticisms.
1) I completely missed the ASUS reference to The Golden Axe Aesop fable. Yep. Completely. Oops. I had never heard that fable before, to be honest. I just thought it was a common fiction trope they were being cute about.
2) I missed the Baki Oliver thing, but I caught that pretty early and made a comment about it. Actually, during the creation of that video, I asked a few of my Japanese friends if I was missing anything and they didn’t understand it either.
3) I didn’t explain who the people were in the idol meme.
I’ll be honest. I’m not huge into Japanese subculture stuff. I barely watch any anime, I don’t read manga, and I’m not interested in idols. I’m also not Japanese. So I’m going to miss stuff, and there will absolutely be times where some of you know more about random references than I do. I’m super happy if you guys add more information in the comments. These meme videos are legitimately just memes that I’ve found funny in my personal life, and bookmarked. That’s why they’re all from Twitter - I don’t use Instagram or Tiktok or whatever, but keep in mind that Twitter is relatively much more popular in Japan.

The only time you stick chopsticks straight into rice is when you serve a meal to a dead person. Sticking them into your own rice is also against manners and very surprising. It is worse than overturning a plate.

I just discovered this channel a couple of days ago, and I did not know how much I wanted a series like this. I also gotta thank you for giving me more things to talk about with my Japanese friends as well. Keep up the good work!
