F22 production was halted because production of more of them was simply too expensive and F35 can do many of the same stuff with less cost. also even older fighters like F16, F15 and F18s are all more than a match for Russian fighters. In terms of air superiority, Russia doesnt even come close compared to what USA currently has and even more so when more F35s are produced to replace lot of the older fighters. F35 is the future along with new stealth bomber jets (cant remember the name) that are going to replace B52s and B2 Spirits

The USA still won't sell allow it to be exported. It makes me wonder what the F22 is hiding that the F35 doesn't have; other than the obvious improvements in all around performance, range, payload, and radar signature. Other aircraft in that non-export category are the B2 and retired F117. Lockheed has proposed putting the F-35s sensors and computers inside an F-22 airframe for an easy gen5.5

Well ofc it wont be exported when USA doesnt even manufacture more of them for their own needs. The production was halted around 200 fighters and F35 is advanced enough to really give pause to Russian fighters. Ofc we dont know exactly how more advanced F22 other than ofc it performs better in air to air combat but when stealth is the key I think both F22 and F35 are more or less on the same page when it comes to killing Russian fighters without getting detected themselves

Now (2022), the export ban is still in placebut even if allowed it is too late to economically restart production, at least without some substantial upgrades.

I served as Chief of Staff to Major General Roger Ramey, Commander, Eighth Air Force. I had the rank of Colonel. (5) In early July, I received a phone call from Maj. Gen. Clements McMullen, Deputy Commander, Strategic Air Command. He asked what we knew about the object which had been recovered outside Roswell, New Mexico, as reported in the press. I called Col. (6) After the plane from Roswell arrived with the material, I asked the Base Commander, Col. Al Clark, to take possession of the material and to personally transport it in a B-26 to Maj. Gen.
