Morbid Curiosity (A Chara/Genocide Route Fansong)

Ойындар

Warning: Creepy imagery!
A Chara fansong! or rather just an all around genocide route song. The more I think about it, the more messed up the genocide route really is, taking the lives of the beloved characters we grew to love and enjoy... just because "we need to see it."
I think the ending for genocide is very fitting, and I felt like I had to bring light to the beautifully crafted, cold ending... realizing that you just killed everyone, and made the biggest mistake because there is no going back.
(oh and also woo demon chara)
Art is by me!

Thanks for listening :)

I think one of the scariest details is that, aside from a few exceptions, monsters don't bleed. They turn to dust. So who's blood was it that ended up on Frisk's hands..?

Really captures the feel of a certain kind of devilish player just discovering the existence of the genocide route. They want to explore everything the game is offering because why not, this world is just a toy. They've heard a few things about chara but they don't really know what chara is or does yet. But seeing the devil they glare back on them snaps them out of their god mentality,, but they push on through, to finish the curse.

Funny thing that in game, in the genocide ending dialog, Chara specifically says: "...HP, STR, GOLD, EXP, LOVE, Each time these numbers increases, that feeling... That was me." I do not know if toby fox had somehow this same interpretation when he wrote these lines, but the fact that they perfectly support your idea is quite revealing and forgotten on an idea of what is Chara, and it's role from player.

I think someone else said Chara works really well as a force of nature. I used to be on the "chara's a good noodle" side of the fandom debate, but now this song is making me reconsider. This human has rotted and decayed, from the Dreemurr's beloved child and hopeful savior of monsterkind, to this one-dimensional incarnation of the dissatisfaction that drove them to kill themselves. The urge to kick over a sandcastle, throw away everything you own, turn into oncoming traffic. It's still tragic, but it makes a lot more sense from what little we get to see in game. I really like that you don't GET Chara's perspective in this song. I assume it's the player talking, finally coming up against something which they believe has power over them. There's no substance to them but the sensation of blood on your hands and the smell of something rotting in hell. You can't judge Chara anymore.

I've come to see the difference In paths that I could take. I wanna see the havoc that my childish hands can make. I've heard of beings that I can only hope are fake. A personality of death, destruction, and decay. A being made of pure hatred. Led to water yet it won't drink. Who's to blame them for their outcome Would you judge the ground you stand on? What was the purpose of this nasty thing? Was it the product of a failed humanity? No one knows how, no one knows why. Yet the sound of their hatred calls out. I feel it drawing closer, but what is it that's near? Is it to late to turn back, I do not wanna be here. I think I've finally done it, but what is it I've done? I should've turned back when the hand was outstretched and open. The sulfur stench is in the very air I breathe. It feels familiar yet it cannot put me back at ease. I know those eyes like they're mine, I know their voice as well. The very demon that encouraged me was from hell. I start to panic as they directly speak to me. I realize my sins have finally caught up to me. The demon gives me a choice, one I don't wanna choose. The bloodlust in me went too far now I'm the one to lose. Did I do this on free will? If not, then who pushed me? This world died because of my morbid curiosities. I shake the hand of the dead. The deed has now been done. I hang my head in regret my hands now covered in blood.

You don't understand Chara is literally my favorite character fucking EVER so when this popped up in my feed I was so excited... I love love LOVE how you portray the relationship between us as players and Chara in this one! Many people tend to lean on "Chara is pure evil!" or "Chara did nothing wrong!" but Chara's very nature is inherently mutable--yes, they were a depressed, nihilistic child who found love in the arms of people who loved them back--but they are also inseparably a reflection of a typical RPG player's conquest for power! "I am the demon that comes when you call its name" and "Time and time again, I will come", IE: Every time we choose to play an RPG, we are calling forth Chara, AKA: We "move onto the next world", as they put it. And that desire for conquest is not just something that they gained from the genocide route (though I would say we definitely pushed that trait out in them, the same way we can show Chara love in pacifist (if you believe in NarraChara)). The alarm clock dialogue shows Chara, even pre-genocide, had some very strange notions about "efficiency". It's a callback to the all-consuming idea of "meta" or "optimal character builds" that often permeates the spaces of RPG games. Now that I think about it--this song could be from either the player's perspective OR Chara's. Yes, the ending seems to make a pretty direct reference to Chara's ending monologue, but nothing in the song is explicit--you can argue that, since Chara and the player post-genocide are supposed to be reflections of each other, lines like "The Demon gives me a choice/one I don't wanna choose" could be a reference to our actions during genocide, OR it could be from Chara's perspective--they don't WANT to kill their friends and family (there's a lot of evidence to show that Chara has some regrets in genocide, such as how we, the player, are the one forced to manually input the button to kill Flowey/Asriel (the advance dialogue button), but Chara/Frisk automatically hit sans after he dodges without any input from us). During the events of Genocide, we force Chara's hand--and if we choose to go back on those values, if we choose to say "No", despite EVERYTHING we've shown Chara, they rightfully get pretty confused about it! And then they ensure we can't have a happy ending--after all, just as you said: "I realize that my sins/Have finally caught up to me" I think there's some portrayal here of Chara being more evil than neutral, but I think it does serve your focus on the horrors that we bring in the genocide route, since that seems to be what this song is describing instead of a full-blown Chara analysis. Overall fantastic! I will be listening to this for at least 2-3 business weeks and you cannot stop me =).

About "from Chara's perspective": If you kill a lot of monsters and Chara sees it (Sans later assumes that you was looking for people to kill to take their money), Chara doesn't start doing the same. Just like if you're very rude to monsters and act like you don't care about their lives, Chara's behavior doesn't become more focused on that behavior either. And you didn't express why you were killing on the path of genocide - Chara just saw it, an idea came to him, and he decided that power could be achieved through it, so Chara wants to participate (I also think Chara is soulless, which makes the job easier, even if Flowey's behavior and reactions at the beginning of his journey and Chara are still [very different, and Chara wants to get this power. That's his purpose now. Otherwise, we have to tell Chara exactly what to do and why he should do it. This does not happen in the game. Chara just watches our actions and makes some conclusions in his head based on them. He decides for himself what to do it for. And Chara can stop participating at any time - there's an example with a monster whose murder Chara demands (Snowdrake) and then refuses to participate if you didn't do it, calling you failure. And you still emptied location to get this line of dialogue. Moreover, Toriel, who is Chara's former mother (and a role model, if you believe his formal way of speech came from her), even before us speaks about the importance of mercy and good behavior. Why should our actions be more important to Chara than her words, if he just listens to us, and doesn't act according to his preferences? Papyrus DIRECTLY offers "guidance" to a good path. Chara doesn't care - he just takes steps again to start the battle, and calls Papyrus "Forgettable" in the CHECK. So here it's more likely Chara's own decisions. Chara's priorities. Just to make it clear: There are good qualities in Chara (for instance, I believe Chara cared about monsters in his own not-so-healthy way, and along with destroying the humans Chara wanted to free the monsters), just like in any person. Nothing is black and white. But to put it simply, on the path of genocide from the moment Chara decided to take part, he is evil (Chara is not evil before that). Evil by his own will. Being aware of your actions, but doing it because it seemed beneficial to him - to take advantage of the situation when your actions gave birth to the idea of power through killing. Just like Flowey are evil as long as he doing bad actions. And Chara decided to take a darker path, ignoring all the monsters around, even Toriel, and *their* guidance, but participating with you in a mass massacre, is exactly because he is not "the greatest person", like Asriel called him. Who from the very beginning believed that murders are quite acceptable when they are committed for the sake of achieving something. Because that was his plan from the very beginning - killing for something. I believe events in the village had its own impact on Chara's decisions after death and and the lack of any reaction to the fact that you kill monsters - Chara never tries to say that it's wrong, although he knows that it's wrong, and just keeps silent. Personally, I think Chara kind of thinks that monsters (Asriel) are to blame for the fact that a human is now killing them - Chara tried to help them in his own way (to free them and "clear" the surface for them from humans), but his help was not accepted (Asriel). So Chara is now silently accepts what is happening as a given on a neutral path, and begins to take advantage of the situation on the path of genocide when Chara comes to the conclusion that it is even possible to have something from it. He chooses to be a killer as well. Chara does has his own mind and head, right? I don't think he's so mindless. "Guidance" card is not a free pass to do a bad things just because someone else does it. Ironically, Chara's sprite at the end of the genocide path is called "truechara". You're on the path of genocide giving more and more free rein to the dark side of Chara's personality, and it begins to prevail more and more, until in the end it leads to bad consequences. On the path of genocide, he has a plan, he sees his purpose, and he wants to do what he could not do in the past (while using monsters as a source of power). It is just a little easier for Chara do bad things, but he give an account of his actions and just take advantage of the situation. >“Why was I brought back to life? You. With your guidance. I realized the purpose of my reincarnation.” It just means that our actions inspired Chara. After all, if you believe in the theory of Narrachara, then only on the path of genocide does Chara call you a partner, only on the path of genocide does he reveal his presence and only on the path of genocide does he reveal a lot of personal information. In that case, only on the genocide path you deserve it. Thus, only the path of genocide is perceived by Chara as something worthwhile and for which he will participate much more actively and personally. And also Chara himself refuses to continue participating if you don't kill Snowdrake, although this is as unique a monster as Gyftrot (who you can just skip). And after that, he even resents your actions: "The comedian got away. Failure." How will some stranger be a role model for him and someone who matters more than, for example, his former family? Toriel talked about mercy from the very beginning - Cara ignored it simply because you decided to ignore it. Papyrus offered guidance, Chara kept taking steps and called him "Forgettable." Thus, he refused the monster's guidance and preferred to continue what was already happening. You can see Chara's priorities. . Inspiration can be the same kind of guidance, because Chra just watched what we were doing, and he independently came to the conclusion that he wanted this power. We didn't tell him ANYTHING so that Chara would be under our guidance as some kind of student. We were just doing our thing and Chara after watching us decided he wanted to do it too - we didn't say he should do it and didn't say why he should do it (for power or for some other thing). He came to all his conclusions on his own just by watching us, and thus the main reason why he participates is because he decided that this is a worthwhile thing. And you helped him come to that conclusion. It's the same as "inspired". So he considers you a partner and considers you worthy to know about him personally and to know his personal information. Why he doesn't do it on other paths? He simply rejects all other offers of guidance (Papyrus) and words about mercy. And again, when you killed every monster in the Snowdin (16 monsters), but did not kill Snowdrake as Chara told you (although he is as mandatory for genocide as Gyftrot is mandatory - he is not needed, you have already killed 16 monsters, and Snowdrake is among these ordinary monsters in the counter), Chara refuses to continue with words "The comedian got away. Failure". Although you have as much power as you would have had with Snowdrake's death. You will not berate someone's actions if you consider every their actions as something you should follow to. . Yes, without us, this idea wouldn't come to Chara. But it doesn't mean that you can somehow insult Chara's trust. I don't think that Chara is trusting anyone at this point. But you're useful partner. And you helped Chara to realize some things and fullfil them. For which he's grateful. We can do even more worse things on the neutral path, and Chara won't behave like us. Like killing some characters over and over again just to reload and kill them again. It is canon since Flowey reacts to it. Making MK fall, still killing Papyrus when he offers mercy, haunting people for money, etc. It is because Chara enjoined what we're doing because it gives a sense of power. Again, we didn't literally guide Chara. We didn't say a thing about why we're doing this. We didn't do it for power, even, we did it out of curiosity. Chara came to his own conclusions and why he wants to join. Sans' guess is that you're doing it not for power but out of curiosity. Everyone makes conclusions based on their own thinking. Chara said that he's enjoying increasing numbers: * ATK. HP. DEF. LV. EXP. GOLD. * Every time the number increasing, that feeling... * That's me. So Chara thought so because he projected himself on you.

About pressing Z button: We need a FIGHT button to make a choice, not press a Z button. Ummmm what? You also need to skip the dialouge in order for Toriel to whack Asgore with fire, are you telling me Toriel just stood there patiently waiting for you to press z before attacking? Or even better that you were the one who fired the fireball and Toriel just wanted to take credit for it? Continuing dialouge is way of moving time/the story forward, sometimes characters do it automatically to represent that they are rushing through what they are saying either out of fear or excitement. Once they stop this you must skip the dialouge. Flowey is desperately trying to convince Chara why they shouldn't kill them and are afraid of death at any moment so he rushes his dialouge. However, Flowey last words aren't rushed because he has nothing to say after them, it is a desperate cry of fear, ergo you must push enter or z to continue the story, eg his death. You are just moving time forward not killing him. Earlier, after Flowey's words about how they wouldn't hesitate to kill each other if they got in the way, Chara started approaching him in a threatening manner and appeared to have a smile on his face. So he had already shown Flowey that he was going to kill him, too. And you're saying Chara hesitated? Lol, no. This is a game, and this is the mechanics this game required. It makes no sense in the context of the game, especially considering that Chara killed Flowey in the most brutal way and then appeared in front of the Player with a smile on his face, thanking them and calling them a great partner. By the time this happens, Chara already knows that Flowey is Asriel. He knows this from the very end of the Ruins, in fact, where Flowey recognizes Chara and says that they are "still inseparable, even after all these years." So we control EVERY character that doesn't attack unless we close the dialog? We close the dialog. This simply moves the plot from a dead point. And Chara decides to attack and leave no trace of Flowey. The Player doesn't press the attack button. The Player closes the dialog, and the characters act on their own. And to say that Chara was manipulated by someone isn't right. We don't interact with Chara in any way, we don't say anything to him. Hell, we don't even know who Chara is until we meet him at the end! Chara just sees it and makes his own conclusions, his own decisions. We killed 20 monsters, didn't interact with Chara about it in any way, and Chara decided to join in. That's all. You are not able to manipulate someone with whom you don't interact in any way (they only interact with you) and just do your thing. And you can kill even a hundred or more monsters on a neutral path, but that doesn't teach Chara anything at all. Chara makes his own choices and conclusions. He chooses to be the bad guy. And the fact that killing hundreds of monsters doesn't make him a bad guy, and Chara only does it when he can get what he wants, proves it. If you don't kill Snowdrake, as Chara demands, he'll say: * The comedian got away. Failure. And the genocide will fail. The player does not say ANYTHING and does not express ANY thoughts. The player just does what they does, and Chara makes his own conclusions and choices. No one takes him by the hand and tries to make him kill. No one tells him how good it is to kill. He does everything on his own. Because he's a character, not some weak-willed puppet who has no will and no personality of his own. From another person: Just a reminder that Chara berates the player for failing to kill Snowdrake, which shoots a hole in the notion that Chara was only doing what the player expected of them. A student does not call their teacher a “failure” when they’re supposed to be following whatever rules the teacher dictates. Also, one can kill just as much, if not more monsters by choosing to go the bloody neutral route (imitating a genocide route, leaving at least one monster alive before leaving the Ruins, then continuing the genocide route as normal, grinding for multi-battles along the way). Yet doing this does not cause Chara to act the same way that they do in the genocide route. This proves that Chara is not at all “corrupted” by the kill count-if they were, they would act the same in both the genocide route and the bloody neutral route. This isn’t even mentioning how they hold the entire world hostage in order to bargain for Frisk/the player’s SOUL, even though the most righteous thing to do would be to leave the world empty in order to remind the player of their heinous actions for all eternity. And need I mention how the soulless pacifist route ends? Conclusion: All of Chara’s actions on the genocide route are completely voluntary. They do not aid the player because it’s their only choice, but because they want to. Every action they take is in an effort to bring them closer to their ultimate goal-exacting revenge on humanity and obliterating all that stands in their way. . This is not a reason to help some stranger in the extermination and in the end destroy the world. And in particular, the murder of those who once cared for Chara. And isn't Chara ALREADY acting independently of us on the path of genocide? He literally leads the Player to the end, not just spectator. He acts on the path of genocide. He helps on the path of genocide. He guide you on the path of genocide to the ending. He destroys the world at the end of the genocide, regardless of your choice. Your words only apply if Chara is just watching and not doing ANYTHING. But this is not the case. So the words that Chara didn't lose his mind, memories and the ability to think, but only lost his soul with love and compassion, still remain. This does NOT apply when Chara is very revealing himself and active on the path of genocide, and it does not apply when Chara has not completely lost his memories. How do you get the idea of "killing is good" into someone who has memories, has a brain, has principles, has personality just because they have lost the ability to love and have compassion? Why do people think Chara is their favorite character? For lack of identity? And the Player doesn't even express ANY ideas. They just kill. They don't say "Killing is cool!", do not give Chara a knife and lead a hand to kill, do not force him to kill a kitten on pain of death. Chara makes his choices, his conclusions. Chara just sees it and decides whether to start participating directly or not. According to Chara's state of mind and priorities. This is only possible if Chara was originally capable of such a thing. They don't give "top 10 reasons why you should start killing". They. Simply. Are. doing. Their. Thing. On the path of genocide, everything even screams that you should stop, and your actions are bad. Papyrus offers to do it. But Chara doesn't care. Both the Player and Chara choose to keep doing it all, don't want to stop. And Chara sees it all and decides to join in. The only time Chara really clearly joins in on anything. Chara could join the killer and start killing his former family and monsters, only at his own choice, when the Player didn't express any ideas, didn't promote them, and Chara just watched. How many people start killing just because they saw the murders? For this, shouldn't a person have a predisposition from the very beginning and their own thoughts towards it? And that's not even to mention that Chara should have an awareness (no love needed here) that killing monsters if he doesn't have any resentments and frustrations on them is a bad action and should be condemned, not supported and not helped. It's not even strangers he sees for the first time in his life. The only way he could have started killing them after someone had shown him this way might be if Chara didn't care about the monsters and their fate absolutely after death, and only the benefit to himself through these kills was important to him. And that's why he joins the genocide. Chara's actions are just as justified on the path of genocide as the actions of the Player are justified. Chara about Toriel if you try to talk: * Not worth talking to. Which of his loved ones was killed? Froggits, or what? Chara is already in the Ruins looking for knives and helps you kill Toriel and the rest of the monsters after. No one told them that killing was good. They just looked and drew their own conclusions. Besides, who even starts killing their loved ones from watching 20 murders? Even what kind of child will do this, and not just sit in the corner and do nothing as much as possible with fear? And why doesn't Chara do the same thing on the neutral path, when you can kill a hundred monsters like on genocide?

**Another person:** Flowey said that "Creatures like us, wouldn't hesitate to kill eachother if we got in each others way" Chara didn't hesitate. You needed to proceed the dialogue because the Player wouldn't know what's going on without taking a breath (like multiple youtubers did). How I said, no one said to Chara do anything, they did on their own, no one proceeded the dialogue to kill Flowey, probably almost everyone didn't even knew Chara's existence. The Player isn't pushing Chara to kill, because Chara is the one in the control, they are the one killing Asgore and Flowey, they themselfs said that. There is no FIGHT button on the genocide path when killing Flowey. We don't press any button other than the "Z" button to close the dialog. And I VERY much doubt that Toby assumed that a Player who is completely unaware of what will happen next would decide to quit the game at all at that moment. So it doesn't count. Since when has the "enter" button become a FIGHT button? This button does a lot of other actions. Like the choice between ACTion, MERCY, closing dialogs, moving dialogs further, and so on. Yes, we need to push buttons, because this is a GAME, not a movie. But this does not mean that the characters are not able to perform their own actions because of this. Or did WE also pushed Toriel to throw a fireball at Asgore, when we pressed "Enter", his dialog closed, and Toriel attacked him? Or did we kill Asgore on the neutral path when, after closing his dialogue (pressing Z button), Flowey attacked and killed him? The only special case is Sans, because he is the only one whose dialogue Chara interrupted during the battle. And that's because Chara needed to catch him off guard, and you again and again failed to kill him. Also, the mechanics here work in a different way. Here, the cutscene trigger is pressing the FIGHT button to attack. In the case of Asgore and Flowey, the cutscene trigger is pressing the Z button to close the dialog (because you couldn't press any [interacting] button - FIGHT, ACT, etc). Nothing ever happens without it.

"They don't want to kill their family and friends" Chara before killing Toriel: "Where are the knives" - red text, kitchen. Chara when you're trying to talk with Toriel: "Not worth talking to." Chara, Demo, the end of the Ruins after talking to Flowey and killing Toriel: "That was fun. Let's finish the job." - red text, slowed down Anticipation theme plays on the background. Chara with Flowey in the New Home: threatening him with the fact that Chara can easily kill him without hesitation, and scares him off with Chara's creepy face. Again slowed down Anticipation theme plays on the background. Chara before the battle with Asgore: cuts off his dialogue and starts the battle but you need to press a Z button to trigger a cutscene with attacks here. By closing Asgore's dialogue. You have no choice. MERCY button has disappeared even. Same with Flowey. But Chara kills him in the most brutal way possible still hitting even when there's only pieces of Flowey left. In the end, if Chara didn't want to kill them, he had every opportunity NOT to do it. It was his choice to join. We don't give a choice for Chara to join - we're just doing our thing, and Chara decides to join. We don't force Chara's hand. In the end, you can try to leave Waterfall before killing all available monsters there. And you will see: * Strongly felt X left. Shouldn't proceed yet. Who's forcing Chara, again?

@@justauser6078 To be fair they don’t urge you, The Player to kill everyone, they just let you know how many monsters are left. You can abort the route any time, you have the choice to, you can even force quit during Chara’s monologue using task manager. In the end, it’s your choice. There is no possesion in real life happening, it’s always been you who had the choice to pursue this path or not. Heck, Chara doesn’t even stop you from aborting the route during the many stop points the game offers you, it’s when you make the decision to ERASE or NOT, is when the consequences finally sink in.

"The sulfur stench is in the very air I breathe it feels familiar but it cannot put me back at ease" Y'know, this probably wasn't your intention, but that makes me think of how Noelle says she finds scary things nostalgic and comforting. It really reveals a darker side of her, the side of her we invade and manipulate into Snowgrave. I definitely like this song, I believe in Narrachara and I like the emphasis you put on how we should "Judge the ground you stand on" and stuff like that. FUCK YEAH. Personally to me Chara isn't some perfect sweet baby child but they're no evil incarnate either. But then again, we, the anomaly, the player-- The SOUL. We corrupted the mind of a dead child, probably no more than 15 years old. They're convinced that murder is right, while also ANGRY. Their family was stripped away by another Human, proving their point that humanity is flawed and evil.

I've been listening to this again and I love to reverse the expected perspective to be from Chara's POV talking about the player/Frisk instead of the other way around, before they become one and the same. "A being made of - Pure Hatred" "Led to water yet - It won't drink" I feel this line is referencing the existence of the Pacifist ending, seeing as how the game all but pushes you to get the 'good' ending, but the player will eventually choose to betray that for their own curiosities, or as Chara still interprets it, their Hatred.. "What was the purpose - Of this nasty thing?" "No one knows how - No one Knows why" "Yet the sound of their hatred - Calls out" Chara still can't understand the thinking process of the player, even comparing it to a "failed humanity", likely paralleling to themselves. "Is it too late to turn back - I do not want to be here" A moment of humanity from the Chara that is just a child that wants to go home. "The sulfur stench is in the very air I breathe - It feels familiar yet it cannot put me back at ease" The empty world about to be erased brings the same feeling of hollowness when Chara first died. "I know those eyes like they're mine - I know their voice as well." "The very Demon that encouraged me was from Hell" Chara was awakened by our SOUL, and started following in our footsteps during the Genocide route. How do you perceive the existence of the player? As an angel, or a demon that will leave the underground empty. "I start to panic as they directly speak to me" "I realize that my sins have finally caught up to me" Chara thinks back on their original plans, poisoning themselves and trying to get Asriel to kill humans, and how it got them on this path. "The bloodlust in me went too far - Now I'm the one to lose." "Did I do this on free will, if not then who pushed me?" Chara and the Player both push off on one another during the Genocide route. Although the player did most of the work, it all rubs off on Chara who finishes the job. "This world died because of my Morbid Curiosities" "I shake the hand of the dead, the deed has now been done" "I hang my head in regret - My hands now covered in blood" Chara has the SOUL of a murderer after the deal is done, our SOUL.

I love how you can tell Chara is the one singing the first half but the second half can be left to interpretation on wheter Chara or the player are the ones singing. If Chara was the one one singing then the meaning of the second half would be Chara realizing they MAYBE shouldn't have dealt the final blow to sans and Asgore and also them realizing their only choice now is to erase that world and move onto the next even thought they don't want to... On the other side, were the player to be the one singing, then it would most likely be a player who has only heard rumor's about chara appearing in the genocide route and deciding to try it out for themselves only for them to realize a bit too late that after dealing the final hit on flowey there's no going back and acting like nothing happened, there's only Chara (The demon that encouraged them to continue out of THEIR morbid curiosity) standing infront of them and giving them a not very fair choice, since after all wheter they choose to erase the world or do not doesn't matter, all that matters is wheter they listen to chara and move onto the next world (game) or they sell their soul so they can keep playing in that world, be it with the fact that they can no longer achieve their true happy ending.

That question about whether or not they did it of their free will or if someone pushed them sounds like their relationship with the player. The singer here feels remorse, while a player wouldn't.

If you think about it, Chara is us, reflects our choices, our path. They're chaotic, cruel, and inherently human just like us, And technically we made the first choice and they followed like a dog smelling a new treat.

This song made me understand why Chara said it was them in the mirror, it’s because Chara is a reflection of YOU. Edit: This song makes me uneasy, knowing Chara is a horrifying reflection of me.

I've always liked undertale/deltarune fansongs, but yours are the best for me. I would like to tell you more but i can't explain. Good job. Remember, take time for yourself. I would really love it if you could make another fansong for Chara.

Ah, this reminds me to someone that said that the Chara we see at the end of the genocide route is a different being that takes the form of Chara, not her true self but "THE DEMON THAT COMES WHEN YOU CALL ITS NAME." A being that just thinks about getting stronger and killing, this just fits that perfectly but maybe im just overthinking the meaning of the song or smth, regardless i love this!!
