You guys destroyed Art that inspired millions. It was something strange that made people stand up and take notice of the Desert your so fond of. If you want to protect the planet, try visiting the factories in Asia where your flashy camera and tech gear is made, look at what goes into making those lithium batteries, the metal for that climbing gear, or any of the gear you hippocrates you use. You destroyed Art, you didn't save anything, you just made a whole lot of people angry and upset who now associate your cause with the destructive and selfish act you committed. If you wanted to help you should have hung out and educated the visitors but you choose your ego instead and to destroy not only something that captured peoples imagination but any influence or opportunity to truly educate and connect with people on the very issues you want to change.

@@mitchtalmadge Lol *I'm* the one picking and choosing? I am merely noticing a public phenomenon and respecting it despite the fact that *some* nature will be affected. This portion of land is not particularly remarkable and can handle some enhancement and public visits. Do you actually think I'd be on here defending 1000 Snickers wrappers on the ground, or even good art on significant national heritage sites? No, I wouldn't be because there would be *zero* public support for such a thing. The monolith was there for over four years and nobody knew or cared. The site was never accessed by anyone during that time, so clearly you're only offended because of the traffic, not the structure. Once it was discovered and public interest was established, it became larger than just trash or private property that anyone could or should remove. A larger conversation should've been had and deep down you know that's true. I love nature but it's absurd to treat all land equally - clearly some of it should be enhanced for human needs and progress. I fully assume you live in a home built on once-pristine land, drink water that could only be accessed by drilling into the ground, and type on a machine reliant on wires strung along for miles to your house. I fully understand your logic, but it's simply not a defensible position for any honest person.
