    I absolutely love my S8's. They are so incredible. Hell, I love everything from moondrop. Everything they make is gold. My Kanas Pro, KXXS, Starfield, Blessing 2, A8, S8 and Solis are all outstanding. My favorite iem company without a doubt. I don't ever find the Treble to be to much on any moondrop product. Especially the S8. They have extremely buttery smooth Treble that's actually rather rolled off while still maintaining great detail and resolution.

    @@whitewolf_5 both are some of the very best in their respective price categories. I personally and subjectively find the Starfield to be the very best in the $100 area. Just the right amount of bass impact without it crowding the other frequencies. The mids are just right with a beautiful natural timbre to them with great clarity and seperation. The vocal performance on the Starfield is what seperates it from the crowd (think hd650 vocal performance). Upfront with beautiful intimacy. There's nothing else like it even remotely close to it's price. The Treble is rather rolled off. Super smooth and fatigue free yet it maintains good detail (not as good as BA counter parts but still very good) and resolution. Soundstage has equal depth as it does width with both presenting well above average performance. Great 3D like sound. The Starfield in my opinion has set the bar very high for $100 competition. The Blessing 2 is very very similar to the Starfield in tuning and tonal balance but has much better extension and detail retrieval up top as well as in the low end (which it should considering the price and having 4 balanced armature's per side). I can't help but be a Moondrop fanboy (proud of it) they just make some all around incredibly enjoyable products.

    @@soldierboy2350 Thanks so much for the details. It's really nice to hear there is such an iem to counter the Tin T4 on the warmer side of the signature. I am one of those treble sensitive people , and my T2s are quite fatiguing , so i have to run the either Harman or Crinacle neutral. Seems like the next upgrade is the Starfield to get a warmer relaxed sound

  • @soldierboy2350

    @soldierboy2350

    @@whitewolf_5 you won't even get a slight touch of sibilance or harshness from the Starfield. The Treble response is some of the smoothest and fatigue free listening I've ever heard at any price range and they accomplished this without the loss of detail or resolution. They truly are great. I own the entire Tin Audio T series as well and the Starfield is better than every single one of them but that's just my subjective opinion. Even if I look at it objectively I still don't see how any one could think the T2, T3 or T4 is better than the Starfield. For $100 they fricken nailed it.

    Finally I bought a Moondrop! Not Kxxs but Moondrop Aria Snow Edition. It's closer to Kxxs than Aria IMO. It's an improved Kxxs; same DLC driver as Kxxs, better tuning, more comfortable, much better case and also spring tips included. And most importantly, the Aria Snow Edition's waifu is way better than of Kxxs. It's the most magical and charming waifu that Moondrop has ever made. I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Endgame IEM for many many years. I just hope it lasts that long.

    @@ZReviews 😅😂😂😂 Very true statement! Your extremely ADD (as am I) I have seriously wild theory that throughout your brain rattling iem review career.. you have heard things (literally studying audio) that the normal individual does not get to experience.. esp the high end stuff. I 💭think some of this has unlocked parts of your brain. Your extremely intelligent. The fact that your "experience" leaves you baffled for words in trying to explain certain sounds... oØf this along with the question, I NEED to know if anyone else has heard these!?!😅 This says it all! A+++Review! Im going to go broke the rest of this month and am buying these at the beginning of April. Thank you my friend! 22:50 & these sound like 700dollars worth of insanity! ~#ZReviews My only stupid question is, does anything else even compare to these that may be 500ish.. Im about to starve for these! 😂😂😂 Stupid because if you say yes.. xxxxxxso and so is nearly as good.. I will always be left wondering what these would have been like and longterm kicking myself for not just holding out and spending just a bit more. Advise to ANYONE who is thinking similarly... if you spend 500..wtffff is 200 more. Dont be a fool! 💥💥 bangbang! ✔️Just do it! Why such an insane maniac-long reply? Because you will not reply to this anyways, + its bound to help someone else out if they understand my method of madness I've now rambled on about! I have been watching your (iem+speaker reviews) for the last (little over) a year now and have yet to pull the trigger on ANY set of high end headphones! Money on deck multiple times and still passed!!! I've been holding out for this exact reaction! "these are scary" oØf.. these are horror... super oØf... these are 700doll hairs worth of insanity oØoF!!! 😅😂😂😂 No other review has quite left you as speechless yet confused as much as these have. Plus your in over your head with an iem collection that Im certain nobody could match! This = 💯Experience! I definitely trust your review! Nobody's able to fake this "reaction" again lost for words by unequivocally being only left saying ITS AN EXPERIENCE! These goddamn Moondrops likely trigger the feels similar that of a junkie getting their long awaited fix! 🎧that are a damn 💉drug?! Without having them yet I guarantee thats these S8's! 🤪😈 BWAH HA! 🤗🎥It's a horror movie! 👹😨 Scary AF! ☄☄This was the go-er! 🌛💧$8 time! 💥💥💥🔉🎧 Have a great day everyone✌!

    You described the S8's pretty accurately. I absolutely love them and tried quite a few high end IEM's but these take it to a while another level. Some think they sound a little sibilant but they are not. They are just scary the detail you hear. I literally was listen to tracks and could on some hear the background voices and background noises even that I never heard before on others, they are literally that good. They absolutely destroy the Shure SE846's in details and SQ I stopped using after listening to the S8's. The only other IEM that consider accurate while being borderline psychotic is the Sony IER M9's. The S8's and IER M9 are endgame for me when it comes to IEM's. The S8's are well worth the $699 MSRP as nothing in price range comes close and I literally bought IEM's costing 1k plus that are not as good as the S8's. It something about them that pull you into the music and keep relistening to tracks even. The cable could be better, but I ended up getting the upgraded to moondrop pcc coaxial cable, which at least comes with the adapter to go balance. But balance is not necessary except my dongle, or desktop DAC I use balance. Otherwise run them usually with the regular 3.5m adapter on my LG V60 when out

    I bought these. They're a little too sibilant at times, but they're highly detailed and damn some songs sound amazing on them. Fast bass, great vocals, bit tiring but still love them. I ordered the Foam tips and prefer them over silicone, they're more comfy, soft, fit in my ears better and reduce sibilance by a little. I use a Topping D70 and a THX 789 with these Anime Lolis, but even something like an xDuoo Link makes them sound amazing.

    @@kael13 I've listened to quite a few headphones. Like the DT's, Sennheiser HDs, Hifimen Sundara's, ATH M series. The sound staging is amazing. You can hear separate instruments and stuff really easily if you focus on them. I own a M40x and tomorrow I'm going to pick up a 650, cause I prefer a darker sounding headset. But I'm definitely happy with my S8's. If I want to listen to rock or pop they're my go to. They make my M40x's sound like shit. So detailed and precise.

    I had the S8 and the U12t at the same time. A person's enjoyment of the S8 will depend on the type of music and the type of tuning you prefer. I found the S8 very good for the acoustic music I mostly listen to. The main issue I had with them was that female vocals tended to sound a bit on the thin side, more of a throat voice rather than a chest voice. There is a ton of detail but the lower mids recess and a later mid treble peak give these a bit of a dryer quality. I think it is a tuning that some people like for pop.. Now the U12t arrived and it just amazes me still.. weeks later... It has all the detail but are much more "real" sounding. The bass is more present and deeper, the mids are clean and clear, the treble goes forever.. The imaging is phenomenal and honestly I am hearing things in my music I've never heard before. I went back to the S8 after a couple days seeing if I could live with them instead and save some money... no.. After the U12t, the S8 still ends up sounding artificial, like a transducer... a good one but still you know you are removed from the music. The U12t is unbelievably real sounding. Sometimes, like on a bad recording it can be too much.. Some may not like this kind of presentation as they will sacrifice this ultimate clarity for energy like in something like the CA Solaris but for me and my music, the U12t is king.. The S8 is good but really, the U12t with a proper source (I have the WM1A) and cable (the stock cable is crap) is clearly better..

    @@panacheautomotive4298 Yes.. good point. I listen to a lot of classical music, mostly baroque but also a lot of modern classical crossover like Max Richter, Ólafur Arnalds. If you like this or even soundtrack music or ambient then the U12t are great. I’m not sure about hip hop or rock as that’s not my taste. I think the S8 might be better on pop music just because the U12t is ruthless in its detail and separation and some music genres don’t benefit from this approach. For acoustic music the U12t outclass the S8 for realism... but at triple the price I would hope so. The S8 is a very good iem though.

I weared them for 12h , often even slept with them ~ by being soo tiny But with foam eartipps and strong isolation (often didn't even hear my door) The soundstage was "different". 180° different around me. It was all that mattered on them I still know they where not the best in SQ, but probably the main thing that kept me on the IEMs road. Something i couldn't find on any "heavy" on/over ear headphone. The comfort and dive into another sound-space At least the way you are describing them ~ i think i can relate, from the feelings perspective Thank you for making this Review. I disagree with the statement, that there are no perfect IEM. There are perfect IEM, but if a person likes perfection or not is a different thing. Professional monitors like the IER-M9, TG335, VE8 (of course, only with foam or using a custom version) and so on do exist, so there is a reference. Some people might not like these, but not everyone likes perfection. Is imperfection is exactly your thing, you'll find an perfect IEM boring. But objectively, almost (99%) perfect IEM do exist, that is what professionals use who make the music Oh, by the way, the S8 doesn't have that much treble actually. That is a side effect that comes from using them with silicone eartips due to air pressure inside the ear that changes the frequency response. If you use any type of foam, like the MIS T55 tips from Moondrop, they suddenly sound completely different. The Bass is significantly stronger and the treble is tamed. With silicone, most of my songs where way to sharp and i had tons of treble issues. With the T55, i could listen to everything and it wasn't even close. So absolutely highly recommended to use these with foam. You can also send in an 3D scan of your ear canal and they will make you an custom IEM, these also don't have the treble issues

    Dana.k.a.bradpitt You’re railing against the economic equivalent of gravity. There may be temporary exceptions here and there and they will garner media attention, but the overall reality won’t change. It’s China today then on to Vietnam, Bangladesh then parts of Africa. Cheap supply chains are what provide you with your standard of living. Sub $100 iems were figments of people’s imaginations until chifi came along. You understand how much the laptop or computer you’re using to upload your comment actually used to cost when these things were manufactured closer to home? The average Joe, those same ones complaining about lost jobs, could not afford them. They can afford them now only because of cheap overseas supply chains. Look at almost everything around you and the life you live and cheap overseas labour has a hand in you being able to enjoy those things. Much of Amazon’s entire business model depends on cheap supply chains. You can’t get something for nothing. Things are more expensive to make in America, so the things that are made are more expensive - much more. How could that not be the case? Economic input directly affects economic output. My point is that’s not necessarily a bad thing. That’s the whole point of economic development, people get paid higher wages relatively speaking and up their standards of living. It’s just that in the process lots of undesirable things will happen as well like existing jobs getting shipped out, so you have to find ways of dealing with that problem. And in order to do that you have to understand first the economic principles that are at play and find ways to adapt instead of trying to make water flow uphill. The idea of supporting home grown manufacturing is a nice, feel good narrative that we all buy into at times. And so I purchase at the local hardware store on occasion instead of big box Home Depot and take the 20% increase in price. But trust me, I don’t do that all the time and especially not when I need to buy a lot of things when the added cost becomes too much to bear. No one does. You’re being played by demagogues and charlatans looking for personal political advantage. The solution isn’t to “bring the jobs home” and support local since that isn’t going to happen in any meaningful volume. That river flows only in one direction in the long run and is not a long term solution to anything. The only way it does is if the majority of Americans decide they don’t want higher standards of living - and that’s not going to happen. Not over the long haul. You wouldn’t accept that proposition either. People are grasping at straws if they think they can have it both ways. Face reality and learn to adapt. No other way. Ok a bit of rant, not totally directed at you but something to think about.
