One of the funniest films ever made. I was could have been an extra in it as it was filmed in Scotland near Stirling and I was a student at Stirling University. They took loads of extras from the uni, especially for the final scenes where an army comes over the hill. Unfortunately, I had something else organised on the Saturday the scene was filmed. I've always regretted that.

Interesting fact. The reason the pythons used coconut shells for the horses sound effect simply was the the fact they couldn't afford real horses. I think the idea was the brainchild of Michael Palin. Genius.

The Holy Grail is hilarious

This was the first thing ‘Monty Python’ related I ever saw. Still hilarious, both this scene and the movie. You wouldn’t be able tell that Graham was completely drunk throughout the whole thing.

This is such a classic scene, love your reaction to it! lol Holy Grail was what made me a huge Python fan back when I was 14, and in terms of their films, it's my favourite one. It's so silly and hilarious!

This is probably my fave Python film of them all. Yeh The Black Knight was John Cleese. Love the way they use coconuts instead of real horses.....

This scene stars the same two actors featured in the Biggus Dickus scene from Life of Brain - John Cleese and Graham Chapman. The two were writing partners from university. Their first professional writing work was on the BBC "Doctor in the House" TV show, I think.

One thing people always get wrong about sword fights is movies is this idea that they they long drawn out and elegant like say princess bride but actually a real medieval times sword fight would be more like what we have here, short, brutal no holds barred and finesse be damned, even Arthur walloping the black knight in the helmet was accurate and it would invariably end with a limb or 2 being brutally hacked off.

I'll take that into consideration for the next video going forth. I have just checked it on my end and put it on full blast and I can hear it fine. But Ill tweak it the next go about. thanks for the comment. Will adjust it a bit more :)
