Kuldeep he does not play anymore because his fielding was so poor so he got dropped

Easily one of the best spells of slow left arm I’ve ever seen, when Monty bowled like this, he was world class.

I loved Monty. No one celebrated a wicket like him! Pure joy. Ohhhhhh Monty, Monty!!!

I loved Monty just for the excitement he brought. He just loved playing for England and it showed

Legend of a man, shame he came at a time when the management were so lacking in empathy, in another time he and Swann would have been the best ever spin partnership we'd had.

Swanny happened. He was a great spinner, was viewed as a better fielder and batsman than Monty.

His style of bowling would be more successful now imo. This was an era when spinners were still being told to ‘throw it up and beat them in the flight’. Monty was fast and flat and bowled more like Ashwin and Jadeja than an old English twiddler.

Monty is 1 of those people that you just can't dislike. By my reckoning, England lost this test I bet? Seeing how much it was turning for Monty, surely Vettori spun us out on that Old Trafford pitch? (edit) Just looked on ESPNCricinfo and nope England won! Strauss hit a century and 2/3 chipped in with scores of 40+!

G swann,m panesar , shane warne ,harmeet Singh , k yadav ,n lyon ,yuzendra chahal ,ish sodhi are true spin bowlers.they always bowl on flat , hard bouncy or green pitches and they pick wickets on these conditions and they dominate the batters always and all never afraided to give the ball some air.
