It is also a good idea to put some a percentage of your income in some kind of savings fund towards your pension. The earlier you start with this, the better.

Intresting video. I arrived back in England from SA with nothing literally nothing in 1992 except my British passport and £300 in my pocket. I took any job ( dish washer was my first) to get on the ladder and have never looked back I did live a party lifestyle for a number of years until my children came along . Now I live on a very frugal budget my exercise is cycling mtb and road its free until I break something on the bike which is then replaced after scouring ebay for cheap parts 😀 food is cheap homebrand supermarket stuff clothing is cheap not big brandname stuff and social is walking days out with the family and home packed lunches or occasional meals in a café internet unlimited broadband combined with free wifi at home works great. Also there is alot of free wifi out and about if its needed. The one thing that can not be tweaked if you wanted to or needed is rent costs which are unfortunatly high Im lucky in that respect as I have paid off my house.I would say you can live cheaply and still enjoy life if needed but if you budget well with a standard wage in the UK you can also live a party lifestyle if thats what you want 😁

Hi there. Thank you so much for the video. Hubby and I are also looking to immigrate sometime this year from SA. Are there any costs that go towards a medical aid or medical insurance?

As a South African, you’ll need to pay for NHS. I’m going through on an Ancestral Visa, and NHS cost me around R63,000

The rent and property in general is extremely high in the UK! You definitely get more value for money in South Africa when it comes to housing.
