That's an interesting way to build a house. From practical perspective, it seems very similar to the stick-built platform-frame construction we use in N. America, but with all those separately machined pieces, I'd expect it to be more expensive. Unlike our houses, these wouldn't require any external cladding, but with no drainage plane, they would need a large roof overhang in wet climates to keep the water away. As others have mentioned, wood treated to prevent rot might be required in some places, and I suspect that wood treated to stop the spread of fire might be required under some codes too.

PC No. What's the catch to have a large roof? Isn't it supposed to have large windows so that the natural light could enter inside? I mean, Isn't that the goal of such as these natural material build houses? What about 🐀, 🪳, and other menace? Do I have to run around the house constantly and spraying all sorts and probably some for humans cancerous septics or something? Isolation like in the video? To make it easier for the rats, mice to nest more comfortably? What about soundproofing? What about floods? How long these houses can stand? Wind? I guess someone will live in such houses but it's more of a headache rather than HOME where you can live with family. My opinion of course. And only a ground floor on top of all? Thanks but no thanks

I love the look, and I like the idea of building without fasteners like this, or with certain types of log cabins. But, my first thought with the sawdust as insulation is, MICE! Where I live, you'd at least have a mouse or red squirrel trying to get in, and once it did, the entire wall passage is open to them as bedding. At least with fiberglass insulation, they don't want to chew it up to use as bedding.

Wiring and plumbing such a property is as simple as putting the system up in the first place. As it treating it against wet/dry/fire and storm. Wood chips are only used as an example, there are many, many possibilities for insulation. The main point,is that it is an affordable and simple to construct home or those of few means...or for those who want to invest in helping other human beings have a roof over their heads. I seem to remember that all Settlers housing in the new world Continent of America, before and after it became the USA were and mostly still are made of Wooden planks laid over a wooden frame and nailed in place.

Harriett Hope. "of few means" you mean poor people? I think that even poor people would not live in houses such as these. There more cons rather than pros for living in such houses. Wooden houses in general. Probably it will be interesting for the few coming years but when the bills for maintenance start to come.......I don't think so

Get a grip: IT'S A WOOD : BURNS EASILY, GETS MOLD EASILY, SUSCEPTIBLE TO MENACE LIKE M8CE, RATS, COCKROACHES. Maintenance must be a fortune? Cosy? Probably for temporarily living not as a permanent residence. The wood will dry, the salt in the air from the ocean will eat it. It's not just to build it and say that you have a house. House needs to be home too. Earthquake stability? Probably. But if Earthquake is long lasting you better have concrete wire house rather than wooden. And only ground floor house? WOW! Fireproof/bulletproof/eavesdropping gadgets proof? Concrete and bricks don't burn. Wood does. After all, the wood is used widely in the world for heating and warming rather than living in it
