I grew up fishing. I haven't fished in years but I feel so irrelevant as a fisherman. The size of these fish make me feel like I wasn't really doing anything except playing at fishing. Incredible.

You can catch giant catfish and huge smallmouth bass on the Cumberland River in downtown Nashville.

That's a great fishing trip Spencer 😁 out here in Colorado we have streams and rivers that are that small and they hold massive catfish and walleye in em. Free lining and setting clickers and letting em get smoked is a blast year round.

Gar is actually quite good to eat. We always just threw then back until a couple ofnyears ago when we decided to trying and we were very surprised. They have 2 long pieces of solid white meat, similar to tenderloins. They can be a pain to clean, basically you're cutting through armor, but they're worth eating.

Great video. Again. Starting this year off in a perfect way. Here in California I have to purchase license at January 1st. Worth every penny. Is it possible to talk about the permits needed in the places you fish? I'm an old lady (73) and in CA. It is about $60. If you want a 2nd pole it's more. I see you and others using several. Could you speak to that as well? Thanks again for a great time.

Seems like at least in that location. I catch them all the way into Oct in Iowa, they just move to different spots.

These are two types of fisherman. One has clean hands, clothes and uses pliers. (Spencer) The other is covered in dirt bloody hands and uses sticks. (TY) I'm usually the TY guy. 🤣
