Monsters, Inc Interactive Ride | Using Flashlights to find Monsters | Tokyo Disneyland 2024

[4K] "Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek!" is an interactive dark ride at Tokyo Disneyland where you use flashlights to find monsters hiding throughout Monstropolis.
This dark ride is 1000x better than "Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue" at Disney California Adventure. Do you agree? Leave your comment below.
Ride filmed January 2024 at Tokyo Disneyland.

I was stunned when I took this ride. The set was so beautifully done. The paint job was so well done, and their attention to details blew my mind! I wish the ride could be a little be slower, so I could take my time to appreciate this ride! haha

Wow, now THIS is how you do a "shooter" dark ride! No over-use of big screens, detailed moving sets that tell a story, and targets that clearly react when you've successfully hit them. Plus I'm still trying to figure out how they showed us Boo's bedroom through that final door - something involving mirrors, I assume? :)

It's mirrors - if you look at the upper right of the portal at 3:40 as the vehicle approaches the scene (before stopping), there's a quick shimmer of light in a straight line that goes to the wall behind. The entire background of the scene is uniform and symmetrical so the mirror works perfectly to mask the room beyond.

@@tsunami762 Oo, great catch! I can see where the diagonal mirror is now, but it's incredibly well-done.

I'm glad Tokyo Disneyland is so good at understanding the essence of what makes a good Disney ride. And yes, it's way better than ours. I know there's a 20 year time gap in technology, but it's the fact that they decided to go the extra mile and not stop at "just another classic dark ride" that still fits with the theme of the ride.

Incredible, not a single screen in sight! Though the flashlights remind me of those weak 90's Playskool flashlights I had as a kid.

I'm wondering how they did that door effect at 3:40. It's such a great effect

I can explain, a hallway is placed through that door to create the second room, the way it looks like there’s nothing behind the door is as simple as mirrors. It’s a simple effect but looks amazing in execution

It is an attraction that I always ride when I go to Tokyo Disneyland. It was built when I was a child and the fun doesn't change even as an adult.

Great video as always. heres a fun fact, the Japanese voice of Randall, Yutaka Aoyama, is also the dub voice for Sour Bill in Wreck It Ralph 1 and 2. He, as well as Yuji Tanaka and Hidehiko Ishizuka, both Mike and Sully respectively, also played the Monsters Inc characters in Kingdom Hearts 3
