There are so many JRPGs coming out this year, the switch might be the best console for this genre of all time.

With Bravely Default 2, SMT 5 and MH Stories 2, I can only say this year is a good one to be a JRPG fan

I got more Capcom games than Nintendo in the past two years. Resident Evil titles are dirt cheap, Ace Attorney is an amazing deal, MegaMan compilations are really well made, MH Rise is an amazing title overall , Okami is the best version to play, DMC3 had great additions and Dragon's Dogma is my personal favourite action RPG now. Capcom is really on a roll.

i just wish they released the actual RE7 and not the crap we got instead, also i would like to see megaman x or zero franchises back, and a breath of fire saga port on switch would be appreciated as well.. other than that, im pretty happy with capcoms progress.

When I got my 3ds out after a while and realized that it was broken I looked up the game and was happy to find the mobile version. In my searches for the game I discovered the sequel, and I was like, consider it pre-ordered.

I was going to say that a port would be hard to pull off with the dual screen functionality, but I completely forgot about the flipping mobile port. You would think that would be a peice of cake.

i hope this reviews well before i jump in...for the first game i just watched a movie cut of it on youtube to prepare, i dont think id want a port of it, has bit of a for kids feel i will say, kinda like the monster hunter of pokemon, but yeah also it's a 3ds game after all, so a bit too simplistic to need it, i expect this to be grander

@@melxb That's exactly what it is, but I'm 23 and I enjoyed the heck out of the first game. While being very kiddy, it still managed to tackle some pretty heavy themes of prejudice and coexistence. Even some laugh out loud moments. I imagine this game's story will be even better.

Thumbs up if you're more excited for this than you were for Monster Hunter Rise! Art style looks fantastic and timeless, really looking forward to it!

I am. While I don't think Rise is necessarily a bad game, I suck at it. With all the games I want to play, I can't make the time to get good.

Been playing Stories on 3DS to get the feel of this "spin-off" series. Love the depth of hatching and optimizing monsties to your liking. And the battle system is simplistic but fun. Stories 2 seems like it will be an even greater experience!

i compare it to Yokai Watch and call it 'deceptive simplicity'. it is very simple and fun, but it can get very hard very fast x3 but it's what i like abut it

I wanted to get the deluxe preorder of the game but sadly all of them got bought up and mostly only getting sold on Ebay for a big price up. Happy I was able to find one normal game for preorder at a normal price.

I don't think the narrator is part of the game in any way, this trailer is more of an overview on the premise of the story rather than an actual story narrative trailer

The first MHS is available on mobile. You should maybe looking to getting that too in order to get a feel for the Stories games. They're a lot different to the normal MH franchise games! 😀

@@marinavieir4 I’m a Pokémon fan and sadly it’s true. I stopped buying Pokémon games after X and Y as the quality and effort of games lessened more and more. I’m not even sure I should be excited for the remake of diamond and Pearl or legends Arceus because it’s just so predictable they do the bare minimum to make the most money and evolve so slow with new concepts

I was introduced to MH with Rise, saw the trailers for this game, went back and played the original Stories, and now I have MH fever. (Also, love Ahsoka she is easily my favorite Star Wars character.)

@tiggy wiggo Yep. The character you play as. (The male in the tribal outfit that Ena jump hugs) is full customizable. Be it gender, hair, eyes, skin colour, face shape and tribal make up. :3

I mean, at least they aren't revealing everything like they did with Rise! Some surprise factor will definitely be appreciated in my case. I was sad to hop into Rise and realize that all of the monsters in the trailers were all there was in the game. The less I know about this game before release I think is for the better.

@@thelasseigne1 Agreed! Stories 1 felt like it's only restriction was from the hardware it was made for (I love the 3ds, but it definitely had a hard time with all the models running around). A revitalized version for switch is EXACTLY what the series needed. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.

I'm unsure but I believe many artists who made BOTW helped out with be art style for MHS. The first game released A Legend Of Zelda DLC pack in celebration of it.

Very likely. The first MH Stories demo was meaty, too. So much so that it actually might've lowered Capcom's sales of the full game.

..... OH.... so that's why it's called wings of ruin.

I wish they'd re release Monster Hunter Stories from the 3DS on the Switch, don't mean to port beg, but I could really use a more smoother experience, my computer isn't strong enough to emulate Citra at 60fps.

There's the mobile version. I don't recommend it unless you buy external controllers and better batteries for your phone of course.

Wasn’t really interested in the first game even though the concept seemed really cool because the story just seemed a bit too chidish for me. Now I can’t wait for this one because at least the story seems a lot more serious and that it knows it’s got a tale to tell.

Probably not? I'd always recommend playing the first game, as it is great (3ds, mobile, or even BlueStacks emulator), however I'm sure that Capcom understands that many people haven't played the 1st game and will keep the game newcomer friendly.

You don't need to have played the first one. The male palico and the blonde guy from the original trailer are on the first game but at most there will be small hints/references but nothing major or impactful story wise, so you can play this as your first game no worries. The first one is available on android/iOs if u still wanna give it a go though

@@ajakks6551 The game itself I can always buy digitally, so I'm not that upset over the deluxe version being sold out. But the amiibos I'm sure are likely going to be resold on ebay for upwards to $60-$100. I really don't get why online stores don't implement some anti-bot features like a captcha or something. I swear, the first store to do so will automatically win my support for future pre-orders.
