Monopoly Gamer - Full Gameplay & Discussion
Ойындар
Today we're sitting down for a full game of Monopoly Gamer. This is a great new twist on the Monopoly formula that keeps the game fast and fun with a great Mario theme on top. We'll be collecting coins, buying up real-estate, tossing turtle shells and fighting bosses to see who can score the most points!
In this series you'll be joining our group of friends for a post-game discussion. We'll be giving our impressions of the game as well as highlighting exciting moments from our session.

I think I prefer the full gameplay when the game is more strategic or an engine-builder, but for something as simple as this I would prefer an edited highlight reel.

Good feedback to hear, thank you Zach! This one isn't exactly a deep game huh? :)
I want this one! I can see this being played during Gencon! I have always wanted a mix of Mario Party and Mario Kart all in one!

My family plays Mario party daily and we are buying this because it’s the perfect Mario board game
Love the full playthrough and gotta imagine it'll make it a lot easier editing and getting these out.

Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it! It's definitely easier to produce something like this than a regular video. I'm hoping we can keep doing this in between regular videos going forward.
I personally really enjoy full game plays of games and would love to see more.. The typical format with highlights and discussion is good, but I personally enjoy seeing all the gears in motion.

Chronosv2 this is something we were hoping to do in the gaps between regular videos, so we'd definitely still do both...appreciate the feedback! :)
I prefer Full gameplay videos with the discussion at the end... I always liked the other format but I really missed seeing the game in action... I would vote for you guys to do it this way always :)

Good to hear Paulo, thank you! I'm really toying with the idea of just doing both. One shorter, regular format and then editing down the gaming stuff after. If I did that though I'd probably have to relax the editing on the full game play even more...which I have trouble doing :P

I wish you guys would do another one of monopoly gamer and monopoly Mario kart. It's generally fun watching friends screw friends over with these games.
Full gameplay all day !! Wut be awesome to see more of these - especially via. livestreams if possible

Vagenlitefoot that's good to hear, thanks for the feedback!
I love the edited format but for some games i think the full gameplay is better, it gets us viewers feeingl like we're part of the game and this way we learn some tactics from you guys and even tell you guys what we would have done in your place at that moment (Not in this game specifically, but in some more complicated and tricky) Great video as usualy, it's always fun to watch you guys play and if i may suggest i would love to see you guys play Sons of Anarchy: Men of Mayhem. :D

Thanks Daniel, that's good to know. We're definitely going to keep going with our regular format but glad to know there is interest in full game plays (of deeper games at least :) ). Good call on Sons of Anarchy. We've still gotta try that one!
love the unedited full gameplay stuff. I imagine it would be easier to put edit and put out content. I say go with it.

3Bcrown cool, thank you for your feedback. It's definitely easier to film and edit than our regular stuff so we thought it might nice thing to fill the gaps between regular videos. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video, it really helped 👍🏼

Thank you for watching! Glad it was helpful!
I think the edited format is better, but having 2 videos (one with edited fragments and discussion, the other with full gameplay) for some games would also work well, especially if someone's interested in a game and would like to see a whole playthrough. Good vid as always, I'm not that much into boardgames (yet), but this is my favourite channel right after DriveThruReview. By the way, didn't you have Arkham Horror LCG video? I'm pretty sure I saw fragments of it and wanted to rewatch it in full but couldn't find it anymore.

Thanks for the kind words and feedback, it's good to hear! I may try to put out separate videos for the full game and regular edited pieces in the future..we'll see how it goes. As for Arkham LCG, it's something that we've recorded a few weeks back and I'm currently editing to put online hopefully sometime in the next week.
Hey gang - like the concept, and can't believe I'm watching a Monopoly BG, and find it looking interesting :)...would love it if a camera shot or switch occurred to be able to see the board better at times (top down, maybe).

Chris Henderson thank you Chris, glad to have your feedback! I'll try to have a better close up shot of the board next time, probably with a second camera if we can.

The guy with the drink in the middle took the coins instead of dropping
Cool game, cool gameplay 😊
Cool gameplay
Top down view of the board on the main view and a smaller corner box with everyone sitting I think would be a better setup
Well played
I love this
there is also some power packs for more mario characters
So cool
I haven't seen anyone mention that depending if you get the collectors edition or the regular edition the main boss battle is different, if you get the basic set you fight Bowzer, if you get the Collectors Edition you fight Bowzer Jr. and both are different.

Wow, I had no idea this was a thing! I guess the majority of the people I heard talking about it picked up the Collector's Edition as Gamestops a few weeks ago. Didn't hear much about the standard retail version. Thanks for the heads up!
Great watch! Will you be doing the Mario Kart version?
I love it Mario monopoly gamer
I just got this game. Yoshi is op as well as boo
The coins you use to purchase a property are supposed to be left on that same space of the property that is being purchased at that time.
This looks great! I really want the Collectors Edition, but I live in the UK and there isn't a GameStop here. Dose anyone know if it'll be realised over here or will I just have to pay a ridiculous price to get it shipped over?
Simple great drinking game love it kids love it too.thanks guys

Totally agreed! And thank you for the kind words :)
La habilidad de boo me confunde un poco, cuando avanzas y te pones detrás otro personaje, al avanzar de esa forma recoges las monedas del camino o no se recoge nada?
When you are boo and want to use Yoshi star power- you have to drop 3 coins. Do you pick up the 3 coins you sdropped to use the star power too?
Is there more boss fights
Part 2 pleaseeee
I love this game! Me and my girlfriend play this like 5 times a day 😂 do you Maybe know of any games that are similar to this? I love the gameplay compared to the standard monopoly games.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it as well! As for similar games that play on the lighter side...I'd check out the new Risk: Star Wars. It's thematic, plays quickly and has a good amount of both strategy and luck. Played it many times! We actually played it live a years back! - kzread.info/dash/bejne/a51o2cqxeriomqQ.html

When everyone is on the last battle with bowser jr. And yoshi lands on starman does he also collects all bowser jr coins as well? since yoshi ability is to collect all coins from the board. P.s. my friends say no to me cause he to op and the card does say all from thr board but they get so mad when i collect them so can someone verify me if im right or wrong doing so please.
“You can’t live a happy life, without this game” Said someone, Absolutely not me If there are more then 7 vowels, I’m lying.
I am getting monaplle gamer for Crismas
Imagine playing all 13 tokens as 13 players... (double the number of bosses for the same game length). I want to try that when I get my hands on this game, and then watch it fail.

+Board Game Replay It was just funny. Watch at 14:46 as Brian hides his coins under his drink can, leaving out only two, in order to deceive the rest of you. But Isaac doesn't let him get away with it. LOL
Well, I prefer the edited gameplay. With post-game discussion and flashbacks.

urutzu that will definitely remain our primary focus, this was just something we were hoping to to do in between. Thanks very much for the feedback!
omg
What about bowser tho
I have this game
For extra chaos and negotiations , (and COINS literally flying from players pockets to the board) play with any amount of players. Started a game with 4 players and 4 more friends showed up mid-game, we had them join in and played an 8 player game the other night and the characters were all pretty balanced. We house-ruled Donkey Kong's super star specifically to steal 3 coins from each player in 2-4 player, 2 coins in 5-6, and 1 coin from each player in 7+. As it was far too strong in the higher than intended player count. It really balanced his power out. We also made it where each person only could fight a boss after they passed Go (we thought about adding this to Free Parking on the second and third laps around the board) rather than everyone roll until someone succeeded. It added quite a bit to the time, but made it feel a bit like Mario Party meets Mario Kart. (We also think it'd be fun to make another mini- game mechanic for passing go 3 times like a Mario Kart race!) What was great is that the points at the end of the game were actually distributed pretty evenly. Coins actually became the winning factor in our game and the friends who showed up mid-game were even in the running! All in all this was a tremendous experience and I think that added so much to the fun factor. I understand that people will see the word Monopoly and be turned away from this, but it really is worth a look.

Hmm, that might be a good time to tell how well this game sold overall. I remember Risk Star Wars having a big sale on the Black Box editions on Black Friday.
Who else got a monopoly gamer ad?
So Monopoly that isn't Monopoly? Why is it even called Monopoly, knowing that a lot of people hate Monopoly?
@boardgamereplay
7 жыл бұрын
Haha good points I guess. I think the Monopoly name was for the mass market appeal and the "gamer" part was more of a modern appeal? It's similar to the whole "Risk Star Wars thing. That game was nothing like actual Risk but it was appealing to some new audiences and old at the same time.
What bothers me the most about this is the game is only 4 players
