When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. John Lennon

I used to be cruel to my woman, I beat her and kept her apart from the things that she loved. I used to be cruel to my woman, and physically - any woman. I was a hitter. I couldn't express myself and I hit. I fought men and I hit women. - John Lennon

Only later in life--perhaps in my 30s---did I come to the conclusion that an education was meant to make me a better person as opposed to a more qualified employee in the pursuit of making money. An education should not be about a "job", but about fulfillment.

@@FrancyPaul There are two main ideas from that quote. First, it is far more fulfilling to act in the service of others instead of being self-obsessed. Second, to be perfectly happy, you have to first stop expecting a reward or consequence, and you should do things, and live in the present, simply to do things and live in the present.

Thinking of becoming monk is different from becoming a monk. Learning any language or culture or anything will not make you a monk. Becoming monk is effortless but nobody can withstand that effortless way of living by detaching ourself from rest of the world living in the world. A normal soul becomes monk soul when he/she knows how to be calm in all situations.

Jay Shetty is really one of best motivational speakers in this generation. So grateful to find a gem like him.
1. Expose to unique experiences and role models 2. Finding that experience and seriously following them, observe them 3. Observing, shadowing, getting close to the process and hardwork
It's ironic how he speaks of the monk that captivated him like never before. He has just done the same to me
Detachment ❤ Being close to everything but nothing owns you

The secret lies in your passion. Your passion becomes your purpose in life, when you use it in making contribution to the world at large. Fortunately, everyone in the universe has a hobby or passion for something. There's no worthless person in the universe. It's the self-awareness that's simply lacking.

I’ve listened to this video 3 times in the last week and just finally took notes on everything that stuck out to me. Amazing life advice. 🙏 I think my favorite quote during the whole thing was “Your passion is for you, your purpose is for others. Your passion makes you happy, but when you use your passion to make a difference in someone else’s life- that’s a service.”
The Element, Environment, Energy thing was spot on. Loved every second of this video from the beginning to the end 🙌🏾
I have been going through so many internal changes.on a path that most people I see daily don't understand. It's ok. My process isn't for everyone. Two beautifully hearted people trying to do what's right. I love them Both.
I have a very similar story... I had a lot of very close friends when I was in high school... then my 4 best friends died in an accident.... I was so sad for a long time so I started to meditate and do any kind of therapy... I started to study psychology, then NLP and Hypnosis and Time line therapy and energy healing... I went to Tony Robbins seminars, 5 week NLP / Hypnosis Trainings, Energy healing courses... then I found a Monk a few months after I woke up... Just by being in his presence you would feel Love and Peace and total clarity... it was so relaxing. So I decided to become like this!
Absolutely Loved this video and the wisdom of Jay! Such an old soul in a young person! Thank you for all you do Caroline

MB, you have the best video colabs and originals as well. Love this Monk's mentality, getting up early and being good to each others and good to this earth that we all should share equally its natural resources and wealth, not only the 1% I subbed already.
While watching this from a certain point of time it reminded me of when I was in 5th grade and I didn't have a book to read but I carried around a dictionary my father gave me. In class, during reading time I would take it out and go through the alphabet because I didn't know where to start but my teacher would yell at me, "YOU CAN"T READ A DICTIONARY" and it made me doubt myself for doing this. I was naturally inclined to be self-conscious because it was considered abnormal but looking back at it now I wish I continued despite her objections. My father taught me that words are powerful and I wanted to prove to him that I was doing the work he desired of me, despite not knowing his good intentions.
Jay Shetty arose out of the blue. I'm seeing more of him on many different Channels.
