Monique comes across 100% more genuine and trustworthy than Pat Houston. I'm glad she left Gary and found peace, as Gary comes across as a mean spirited man. However it would seem from this interview that Monique would have been a far more supportive sister in law than Pat! When you talk about enabling Pat and Gary I believe were Whitney's number 1 enablers. They 100% relied on Whitney for their livelihood, so would not call her out on her addiction, the didn't want out of the circle or the direct debits. Unfortunately for that reason she isn't here. Yet they are selling stories and her personal belongings to ensure they still make revenue off her dead body. Shocking behaviour from so called 'close family'.

Gary was punishing his mother for dropping his real dad as a hot potato, bringing in destruction. Monique was not helping his plan so he changed her to Pat. Plan accomplished.

He wouldn’t even let Monique attend the funeral just to keep up appearances or so her son says. Sick.

I remember when Whitney mention her on her 2nd album and her son Gary Jr. said they had Chinese eyes😃. She is very pretty.

Gary isn't a Houston, he's a Garland Whitney's half brother, so why is Gary, Monique and Pat going by the last name Houston? Gary and Whitney had different fathers, only Whitney and Michael had the same father, John Houston is not Gary's father, Cissy and Gary's father divorced before Gary was even born, but it looks to me that they're all capitalizing off of the last name Houston because of Whitney's fame, but no not one of these people's last name is legally Houston, nice interview though

@@MUSICENCYLOPEDIA He did it because of Whitney 's fame he was never regarded as a Houston until Whitney became famous, and, don't even know if he did it legally or not, that was later can't say for sure, his mother Cissy even said that his last name was Garland, but oh well name change or not they're still family

Whitney Fan47, Where did you get your facts? Monique said around 1998; but, I'm thinking she may have meant 1988 instead. She said it was around the time Whitney started being famous.

Gary is not a Houston he is a Garland....cessy Houston has already had him before she married whitney and Michael Houston's father. Gary just wanted to be famous with the Houston's name because of his half famous sister whitney Houston.

Gary is a fake! Pat is faker! This woman keeps it REAL! Lovely lady, too good for Gary Houston (allegedly Houston/Garland).

Pat is trash, Gary traded down. I do however like Donna Houston though

It was never mentioned that John Houston ever legally adopted Gary, Cissy never mentioned that , not even in her book but she did say at one time or another that her oldest son 's name is Gary Garland, not Houston , of course she herself became a Houston due to her marriage to John and they had 2 children and so of course he became Gary's Stepfather, only Whitney, Cissy and Michael are legally Houston's, by way of name and blood, ( although she did marry Bobby Brown , but still went by the name Houston because that's whom she was famously known for) ,but no Cissy never once said that John ever legally adopted Gary. Gary decided to jump on the famous last name Houston due to Whitney's fame and recognition but there was never any mentioning of John legally adopting Gary, at least not to my knowledge but oh well, it's just a name
