Evan thou they would still be very effective. They would not be the end all. The riders are still people they miss sometimes stress nervous battle figure etc. Then u also got the challenge of people don't tend to stand still for u to shoot them with arrows lol. All that with fighting the momentum and movement of the horse all simultaneously. They will miss alot. Practice is different to the real thing

@@paceyombex yea not disputing any if that. Was just pointing out the reality of it. Alot imagine then as one hit killing machines on horse back wich couldn't be further away from the truth. But none the less they where extremely talented in what they did. They where nearly unrivalled at using bow on horse back just like the Welsh was at volleying arrows

It's to help with accuracy. You don't want both arms in heavy tension, so the front arm should only be providing counter force to the draw arm. If you do it right, the bow drops after release. Mike's-super-short-show!

Mounted archery doesn’t belong to Mongols or Persians or the Chinese, these cultures adopted the art after, but the credit for this invention belongs to the Scythians , they were the first humans to ever ride horses, they invented the recurved bow, eventually combining the two as a war tactic introducing the art of fighting from horseback. A good portion of their numbers consisted of female warriors and archers, hence giving rise to many of the stories and Greek accounts of the mythological Amazons

You never know how close it would be for a dismount to pop up as you pass by... Especially if it is unexpected and you are continuing to engage enemy at bow distance. Would take too long to pull out a saber then have to sheath the blade and try to continue to shoot.

@@CulturedPotato Mounted archery doesn’t belong to Mongols or Persians or the Chinese, these cultures adopted the art after, but the credit for this invention belongs to the Scythians , they were the first humans to ever ride horses, they invented the recurved bow, eventually combining the two as a war tactic introducing the art of fighting from horseback. A good portion of their numbers consisted of female warriors and archers, hence giving rise to many of the Greek accounts and stories of the mythological Amazons

You never know how close it would be for a dismount to pop up as you pass by... Especially if it is unexpected and you are continuing to engage enemy at bow distance. Would take too long to pull out a saber then have to sheath the blade and try to continue to shoot.
WHY slow it down? It looks a thousand times more impressive full speed.
I though they used their thumb with the wrist turned to avoid the need for a finger to steady the arrow??

She is using a thumb ring hold on the string.
I feel like I would pull the bow back to far and stick a arrow straight into my hand

I believe that it simulates having to engage a very close dismounted soldier as she passes. Would not have time to pull a saber out then have to resheath and continue to launch arrows.
