I am a hunter myself, although I hunt for food and not for “fun,” but I thought I’d give some insight for this type of hunting. These hunts are not cheap, it typically costs several thousand dollars, if not tens of thousands of dollars to hunt animals like these. That money goes towards the local economies, as well as permits. The money from those permits actually goes towards protecting the hunted species from habitat loss and poaching. The “trophy” animals are often very old. The older an animal gets, the larger its horns or antlers get, and the hunters typically aim to get an animal that is at the end of its life, and sometimes it is required to be of a certain size to ensure the hunters are not killing younger animals. It provides a unique experience in nature, harvesting an animal towards the end of its life, and most, if not all, of the money goes towards protecting habitat and threatened species. At face value it can seem cruel, but it is typically at net positive.

I think the snow leopard is the most gorgeous and amazing animal that God ever created. Thanks for the rare footage!

When you give people easy way out they will take it. Why not just give them the money then, but realistically why not just tech them to farm...etc...etc...etc...instead.

Plus the money goes into conservation to protect the animals!

Beautiful animals & amazing country. Snow leopard was incredible

The group therapy shaking hands and expensive firearm advertising firing sequences were amazingly interesting. The footage of the animals and country did pad it out, being mediocre & erratic fortunately didn't detract from the main subject. The animals being tame enough ensured the achievements of great trophy hunters are still there for the intrepid.

Legal hunting does not contribute towards extinction at all. Only so many of these animals are allowed to be hunted each season in order to keep their populations in check so that they do not grow out of control and ruin the environment. Hunters are the good guys...
