Lol... I made same mistake. I was like why will I be buying something I can't afford? Not my style. I never knew I was doing myself by paying outrightly. I have now gotten a credit and also buying some things on instalment payments. Also when you get a credit and, try not to spend over 25% and always pay off in full, probably at the end of each month.

@Daniel, I want to ask, is the 25% the government pays on the lifetime ISA not part of 'Public Fund' which may affect one's application for indefinite leave to remain? Cos not using public funds is part of the requirement for IL. Secondly, if one has stayed in the UK for more than 2yrs, can you still be able to open a lifetime ISA?

1. No 2. You can open LISA anytime, ensure you are not above 39 years old.

Wonderful video, Daniel. You're absolutely right. I've been buying almost all my electronic purchases here in the UK on credit, and i set them up on monthly directly debit. Speaking of paying one off, i recently purchased a top of the line gaming laptop which was quite pricey. However, when i contacted lenovo they told me they don't offer credit sales for laptops above £2k and they dont give student discounts on their top teir gaming laptops so i paid one off which is not a good practice. I didn't have a choice. So yes it'll quite interesting you make a video about how one can futher enhance his/her credit score. Thank you Daniel 🙌🙌

About getting a car, can you share how to get UK full driving licence without spending too much on driving instructor plz?

This strategy will likely cost you approximately £500-800 on the long run, (depending on how fast you learn and how much practice you do). So I bought an affordable car, I wanted a full license so I bought a manual car of say £1,400 then my instructor was charging £50/2 hrs. So I had these lessons and thereafter once I got confident went for the exam and passed. I sold the car for £1,200 This strategy will help you get so familiar with the one car you used to learn and also recoup capital on the long run. Hope this helps.

No, student visa and psw do not qualify you for ILR, non of the years count. You need to get on skilled worker visa or something similar and be on it for the required number of years to qualify for ILR.

Yes please, if your house landlord/estate management is registered with any credit score company. In my case, my house is managed by a housing agent, and we were registered with experian, so it helps with improving our credit score. I hope this helps

But you can't get a credit card if you have not been in the UK for 2-3years, then if you don't earn up to 25k above you are not eligible as a new immigrant.

Not true. I was just 8 months when I got my first CC. Now I’m almost 2 years and my credit cards total are about 15k. Just 3 cards
