    Bill, if it's worth anything, I'm only a 33 year old man from Kentucky, and I love hearing you go off on sports, religion/God, and society in general. I have to say though, knowing that we are both AC/DC people and Bernie Sanders people made me do the Chuck Berry duck walk out of sheer happiness. I feel like an 18 year old white woman signing a yearbook in 1997 when I say this, but NEVER CHANGE.

    I'm an Auburn grad. Bama fans you encountered are the Ashtons and Buffys of the collegiate aristos, such as they are in Bamalama. There are all kinds of fan around the state, but the most dominant Bamanites live in small third county enclaves of chained single wides, sharing one tooth for which to chaw their tabacky, never once hitching to Tuscaloosa to visit their Mecca. Auburn is the same, except we chew crap coaches.

    Ha, I laughed at the pilot complaining about not getting a seat on a plane... and not being able to go home to see his/her family. 😁 Now that pilot knows how the customers feel when WE wait for a seat, or have one and still wind up waiting for hours, going through security and then having the plane never take off... as the flight gets cancelled for whatever reason!!! To the pilot, I say, "Suck it up buttercup!"

  • @nomadman5288

    @nomadman5288

    6 ай бұрын

    First off, the pilot has nothing to do with those delays and cancellations; they just fly the planes. Second, it's not even the same situation. This is about a policy that gives a fat person needing or wanting an extra seat last minute privilege and priority over another passenger. In fact, a woman and her two daughters got booted last minute from flight they already had booked for a fat person that needed(wanted) an extra seat. Their bags had already been processed, so they had no clothes, had to wait till morning and Southwest didn't even offer them a room anywhere. It's not the pilot's or other passengers' fault if a fat person needs two seats last minute. They're the ones that should have to wait if they don't book the two seats in advance, not other people that already had their seats bought and paid for. You should also know that the policy makes it so that the fat person doesn't even have to pay for the second seat...

  • @michaelrichardson6569

    @michaelrichardson6569

    5 ай бұрын

    @@nomadman5288 It is EXACTLY the same situation. The pilot has to wait --like anyone else does-- for the empty seat. I never said that it was good that the fat person got the extra seat... or that the pilot has control over the delays. You are also assuming a lot, or reading in too much. In fact, what I described above as "when WE wait" is the same situation as in your example of a woman and her two daughters went through. I am not blaming the pilot for the delays, but the pilot should be able to expect delays, no room available on a flight, etc. and not whine about not having a seat. And, if they work for the airline, they should be well aware of how the seats work... and are an employee of said airline that should not expect favoritism over the paying passengers. It would seem that the pilot is basically a stand-by passenger in this case... and should have the same odds of getting any extra seat available as a fat person getting the extra seat. I agree that the fat person should not get the extra seat at all (unless there really are unsold seats and they pay the extra ticket price for it), and I never said they should have gotten the seat over anyone else. My response was to the pilot's reaction about getting home to their family, etc. What does the pilot think the rest of the people on the flight are trying to do? Every passenger probably has plans, or made commitments, and most of them probably had these plans made long before the flight. Neither the pilot's stand-by status nor the fat person's last-minute extra seat should kick out a person (or family) that already purchased the ticket(s) for that flight. If they had to kick someone out, then there were no extra seats, and thus the fat person (nor the pilot) should have been able to get the seat someone else already had. In your scenario, there were apparently no seats to give out, so I would completely agree with you that the fat person "needing" the extra seat should be the one to wait for the next flight, and not the family that planned ahead. However, we may not have all the information here: if this was a true medical need for the fat person, the family volunteers to give up the seat for a later flight, what compensation the airline actually offered, etc. If the situation was indeed as you described it, with no special circumstances, then by all means, the fat person should have been the one to wait and not the family. The airlines each seem to have their issues, and I am certainly not disagreeing with you that their policies don't need to change. Extra seat should equal extra seat cost added to the price, so we are in agreement here. It has always made me concerned that I could purchase a ticket (months in advance), and the airline can simply kick me out, loose my luggage, delay or cancel the flight on me even last minute, and not really have to care much. Some delays are weather related, so not much to be done for them. But some of the "mechanical" ones are based on airline neglect and not a sudden or unpredictable... and would not be delays or cancellations at all if the airlines took preemptive steps instead of only reacting to problems. Yet, that seems to be the trend with many companies, and not just the airlines. But that pilot probably worked for that very airline (Southwest, in this case), and should know those policies already.. .and thus should not be surprised by them. So again, to that pilot, "Suck it up, buttercup!" ...And from the other side of things, would that pilot want to sit in the seat next to the fat person that "needed" the extra seat that did not get it? 😁

  • @Games_and_Music

    @Games_and_Music

    5 ай бұрын

    @@michaelrichardson6569 I know that the pilot's description was overly sensational, but if i know that the last seat was taking by 1 buttcheek ... I'll not be very understanding of that. Especially if it's last minute, that can't be the normal way. If so, then there should be a weight/height/girth box on the ticket ordering form, so that the airlines will know what to expect, or ideally, what extra costs that customer will pay. I think this was a "prevent defense" from Southwest, considering they already have a bad rep in customer service. Charging or denying fatties would probably have caused a bigger stir, outrages and boycotts by _certain_ people.

    Suggestion to the guy who is worried about traffic speeding near his house.. it's a little complicated but get some kind of radar gun that detects speed that you can put somewhere before your house where traffic is coming.. I'm sure there's some way you can hook up a couple faux police car lights like the ones they used to sell at Spencer Gifts that was like a dance floor/party light that starts flashing when the radar gun detects anyone going over a certain speed. I dk if that's legal so look into it, but it should be in my opinion. As soon as people see police lights flashing they'll slow right the fuck down.

    About Southwest Airlines: This is a new policy about fat people and seating. A woman and her two daughters already got booted from a flight they already had booked because a fat person needed two seats(instead of the one) and got priority. Oh and the fat person doesn't even have to pay for second seat. On top of that, the mother's and her daughter's bags were already processed and going on the flight, so they were left with no clothes, no flight until morning and as far as I'm aware, they weren't even offered a room for the night.

    41:58 I do think that it's a disgrace. Why can't they roll em up in a blanket and put them in the cargo bay? Can't they make a fat aisle in the middle, for ballast reasons. I know the writer's situation was hypothetical and overly unfortunate, but knowing that your seat is taken by 1 buttcheek of a fat person... yikes. How can they even sit, isn't it way uncomfortable to have the seat gap in your crack? Or do they get an extra pillow to sit on as well? Anyway, i just think that they're rewarding the unhealthy way of life, i'd say bring back the smoker's section! Give us something back. And by the way, they probably should stop the 'economical' seating situations, since everybody is getting fatter anyway. Unless... oh oohh ohhhh Ozempic! And yeah, i'm totally done with corporations, how can they expect me to stay motivated when i know that i'm getting screwed, no matter which company i work for. Working class, kinda like 'working girl', getting screwed and begrudgingly getting paid for it. I don't aspire to start a company, but that shouldn't mean that by default that i will get screwed. Also, you need to work on your editing skills, hah, your return from the game was inserted at the worng moment, because after you said bye, there was still like 5 minutes of pre-game stuff.

    It's only southwest that does this and tbh I think them doing it will/has given them immense backlash. They already struggle as an airline. Not sure why they would damage their business like this...

    @@experssion123 I think it was a "prevent defense" and it blew up in their faces. Trying to be inclusive, but alienating more. But yeah, why, they should've just kept on going and not do this kind of stuff.

    That's why I don't care about the NFL, NBA, and MLB because those athletes don't give a shit about you. They only care about their money.

    Complains about rules in sports games, and then also complains about refs not calling fouls lol. Sports fans are brilliant geniuses.
