I couldn’t help but picture Princess Diana being crowded Queen during all of this, as it should have been. The Peoples Princess is still very much alive in the hearts of her admirers around the world. Part of me is happy that Charles & Camilla finally got to be together, at long last. But Diana will always remain the most beautiful, compassionate & deeply loved Royal of our generation. And I am certain she is looking down at Charles, smirking, shaking her head with good humor & wishing him luck on his coronation & reign. And laughing her ass off at Camilla 😂

As much as Camilla is the love of Charles life, im not a fan. Diana married him despite him being her sisters ex, who refused an offer of marriage and then divorced him so she would never have been Queen anyway. The greatest Royal after Elizabeth and Anne is Catherine the Great not Diana. I watched Diana's tantrums at polo matches and other events she may have been lovely to look at but not Queen material that needs stability and sacrifice. Every Royal has to do charities, patronages etc as they don't work its a historical standard

Charles and Diana were an arranged marriage, and they both had affairs. Their marriage was unhappy, and Diana didn't like the job. They divorced, and both moved onto different partners. Unfortunately, Diana died in a tragic accident, but how does that mean that Charles wasn't allowed to remarry to the woman he loved all along? If anything people should be mad at the late Queen for meddling and arranging a loveless marriage in the 80s. That certainly was not a modern move, and I find it incredibly unfair to attack Charles and Camilla for something they had very little power over.

Social attitudes towards race, empire, illegitimacy, abortion, homosexuality, and pretty much any major moral issue have changed dramatically in that same time frame. Royal attitudes towards virgin brides have altered in half that time frame - that's what prevented Charles from marrying Camilla in the first place.

The fact that the monarchy are meant to represent those chosen by god, Devine and a representation of all things holy yet these two spent most of their adult lives sinning, lying and cheating. Kings and queens are held to a higher moral standard in exchange for their higher status. If they can’t stay true to that standard then they shouldn’t be crowned. Charles should have advocated the throne immediately as a sign of respect. I hope his reign is short and swift

Camilla never complains, stands by Charles's side and is a steadying and stable influence on him. Should we be condemned by our past? I hope not. He was is the head of the Church of England and he committed adultery. Not just one off mistake. He did it continuously for years with zero regard for his wife. That is serious misconduct in my eyes. Why did he get to keep his job? He should abdicate for someone more deserving of the role. Then live his life with his adulteress in peace. As for sinning, I agree. It is what it is. I do feel it wasn't Diana, Charles or Camilla's fault I do believe as much as I love our late beloved Queen, in her attempts to dictate her son's life she started what turned into an ultimate disaster. If she just let Charles marry Camilla from the start, Diana wouldn't have had to go through the emotional torment. She could have found someone who not only loved her but cherished her. I do not believe Charles had any ill will to Diana and I do believe there were mistakes on both sides. Queen wanted Parker Bowles out of Anne's life so decided if he marries Camilla then thats two things sorted. Also the princes managed to change their grandmother, if the Queen was more open as she was in her latter years Diana may have been supported more. The Queen and Prince Phillip were extremely fond of Diana and they tried to convince Charles. It was a mess all three victims and all three at fault. I don't deny Diana got the worst out of it all. But, I do think she got engaged and married at too young an age and was overwhelmed and did not get the support she needed at the time. Charles is a big idiot if he knew he couldn't let his first love go he shouldn't have messed with a young girls life just because he formed a friendship with her whilst dating her older sister. im at a point let Diana rest in peace, there is too much horrible shit happening in the world globally that we need to forgive, even if we can't forget. Our current King made that situation worse that his mother unintentionally set in motion. Im a bygone be bygone stage now, when will the finger pointing stop. In end its Diana's son who will continue the royal lineage. Sorry if I offend people but there's alot more to consider. I think beloved late Queen unintentionally started this saga and that her son our KIng made it worse.

This ravishing beauty by Andrew Lloyd Webber is the best thing, where bringing new stuff to the coronation is concerned. With lyrics from Psalms, it couldn’t be more heavenly, and perhaps more importantly, far from controversy and contentiousness heavenly. No doubt Webber came with a complete understanding of the significance of the moment, and had in mind all camps, and how what they’re seeing triggers their feelings. Can’t think of any other composition that would have married the lyrics so well , and have the yearners for the fairy tale & the acceptors of the fact, and those in between, all joyfully reconciled under the will of the divine. Bravo !

Why in the world do people still get so crazy about Diana? She was miserable in her marriage. Who would wish for a woman to stay forever with a man who didn’t love her? You don’t have to like it but it’s total delusion that people think Diana would’ve ever made it to this day intact emotionally. She deserved better and would’ve had she still been alive.

The marriage was over in all but name by 1987. Charles tried to fall in love with Diana but they were ultimately too different. They had nothing in common and were incompatible. Diana's older sister was the first to date Charles with a view to marriage, but he ended up paired off with the younger Spencer granddaughter. Charles and Diana would've divorced with or without Camilla. She probably would be remarried by now had she lived. Even she didn't blame Camilla in the end. Charles and Camilla should've been allowed to marry in the first place. It's obvious how comfortable they are with each other. They make each other happy. She knows how to tame him, how to deal with his fastidious ways, and how to bring him back down to earth. She never tries to overshadow or emasculate him, nor does she court media attention. With her family background, her rural interests, and her personality, she is an ideal royal consort and absolutely deserves this. She is also, from what I hear from everyone who has met her, unfussy and lovely in person with a great sense of humour. She deserves this.

@@lilinath7974, no, he wasn't. The notion that he spent the night before his wedding with Camilla is false. Diana admitted that she was the first to stray. I'm also subscribed to the British Newspaper Archives and have read scores of old articles when the Charles-Camilla affair leaked that confirm it.

Is she Queen or queen consort ?? Because I keep getting mixed messages from different sources.. But judging by this ceremony and her with her crown on the balcony and almost in tears of emotion I gather that she was allowed to be the new Queen of England

The title is Queen. There are 4 ranks and distinctions aming queens. From highest to lowest. Queen Regnant (like the late Elizabeth II) this is the highest rank and is equivalent to the title of King. That is why the husband od a Queen Regnant is a prince, not a King. She is already the King. Queen Consort - the wife of a King Queen Mother -the mother of the sovereign. Dowager Queen - the Widow of a King, not necessarily ther Queen Mother. They can all be simply referred to as "Queen", or their rank can be added after their name. Her Majesty The Queen Consort Her Majesty the Queen Her Majesty Queen Camilla, Queen Consort, Etc, are all correct Use whichever u like.

Diana wasn't happy in her marriage to Charles; she separated from him and in doing so she forfeited the crown - and she seemed pleased enough to do it. Would you have preferred her to be miserable for the rest of her life? Would you have preferred Charles to reign alongside a Queen Consort that didn't want to be with him?
