it’s dope you guys caught on to how Carmy is reluctant to develop a close relationship with people, and if i could also add on to that- we also see how obsessed Carm is with trying to make sure he can fulfill his dream of opening the restaurant and the thought of trying to make sure the “work/life” balance is evened out in an area of business where it’s already hard to be consistently successful in, is definitely scary as shit to him. it also kinda slightly reminds me of Whiplash where Andrew sabotages his own relationship just to be perfect at his craft.

Love that you guys picked up on the fake number. Carmy is classically self-sabotaging and bringing it back to his conversation with Richie in 201, he says he doesn’t even know what is fun for him which is a bummer but maybe also what makes him the best at what he does
