For those wondering, the camera recording our regular footage is the Sony A7SIII. Its ability to achieve relatively low levels of noise at high ISOs combined with the f0.95 lens means that under the light of the full moon, we basically have colour night vision.

I’m sure by now you’ve realized those shining lights at the beginning that were distracting Gav are stars. You could clearly see Orion’s Belt and once you saw that. The other 4 main stars of the constellation were evident.
that clear shot of the full Orion constellation in a blue day-looking sky isn't even the point of the video and yet it has immediately sold me better than any ad -R

That exposure is insane. F/0.95 at 32000 ISO turns complete night time in to day time. Those stars in the background at 1:22 are the constellation Orion, and you can even see the Orion Nebula pretty clearly in the shot.

@maxgamesst1

The TV show "raised by wolves" films often using the opposite effect. They will film their night time scenes during the day and turn down the exposure for the alien night
@Yvolve
10 ай бұрын
@@maxgamesst1 That's a fairly common trick. It is used in many movies, sometimes during the edit. The Mummy (Brandon Fraser one) opens with a pan across a temple complex, which was partially real (the servants bowing for the emperor in his chariot) and shot during the day. They ended up making it night, so you can barely see how much effort went into making the set and seamless transition when edited properly.

Somehow my favorite part of this video is just the footage from the handheld camera when you guys looked at the sky with the stars. The image of a blue sky with stars in it was gorgeous. It's easy to forget that even in the deep of night, the sky is still blue from refracted sunlight.
What's even cooler than the slow-mo explosion is the INSANE exposure that camera gives. It's like you're filming through one of those ultra modern military night goggles.
The water spike to the face was my favorite ever shot - now it’s this one. Incredible!

One thing that never ceases to amaze me is the accuracy of exposure on some of the slow motion shots.
