Massive Explosive Chain Reaction at 200,000fps - The Slow Mo Guys

Ойын-сауық

This video contains 4 absolutely massive explosions using a variety of explosive equipment such as shock tube, det cord, shaped charges and avalanchers.
It was performed safely under the supervision of explosives experts. Additionally, Dan has training as an EOD in the British Army.

Yeah, it's very pleasurable as most of the time he comes off as a massive dunce. I feel like it's often similar with Gavin and cameras. They're simply very specialized people in their narrow fields so they don't as often get an opportunity to show off their knowledge.

When I was in the Engineers we had the opportunity to practice with shaped charges, both the circular ones and linear ones. Linear shaped charges are ideal if you want to make a neat cut in concrete surfaces, like bridges. Incredibly neat, straight cuts up to 1 metre in depth.

Yes, that would be awesome! High explosives have a detonation wave that moves at around 28,000 feet per second, or almost 20,000 mph. Meteors often enter the atmosphere at 50,000 mph, so all those Hollywood movies where the meteors are coming in to hit the Earth, or another planet, are WAY too slow.

Yea it's true the videos are long but it's very fine to me I usually just skip to the parts that I like, while other can watch the entire videos if they want. It's quite easy to do. About the destruction part that's a good point, still if people dislike destruction, why even click on a video named "Massive Explosive [...]" But it's fine people do what they want, I was just really suprised to find out 1.5k people disliked this, when the video is exactly what the title says. It's not like they are exploding fireworks in their garden and filming with a bad camera.

Very interesting to me. I was Army infantry being transported on a Navy “Armored Troop Carrier” boat on the Mekong River in 1969. I was laying down on the deck of the troop well in front of a giant styrofoam cooler that had a large amount of water in it. A Viet Cong B-40 rocket, almost the same as a modern RPG, hit the outside of the hull slightly above where I was. There was a loud explosion and I was covered in water and styrofoam fragments. Only 1 person in the boat had a minor shrapnel wound. I knew it had to be the water in the cooler that saved me and others. My theory was that the molten copper and steel droplets were small enough to be stopped by the water. Also the damaging hot jet of gas would have been abated by the water. Your barrel was about the width of the cooler.
