Disgraceful. They should be serving life in prison. The fathers connections are the only reason they are getting away so lightly.

Not only it's justice. It's whole garish, arrogant, gun-toting, greedy way of life exemplified by its complicity in the carnage and genocide in Gaza - money is their God. Deepest condolences to the Corbett family.

The lies spewed by paid defence hacks to denigrate Jason Corbett’s character were shocking to behold. I can’t even imagine how his sister and his children felt sitting in that Courtroom while their loved one’s character, a dead man who couldn’t defend himself, was being assassinated at every turn and they were not allowed to rebut the lies. If Molly Martens and her father got away with time served then American justice would prove to be a biased joke. As it is, the killers got away with 55 months for killing a man. In this Courtroom, it appeared the criminals became the victims and the victim was painted as the criminal.

A truly sad reflection on US justice. A bunch of experts-for-hire allowed to take the stand and shred a dead man's reputation with spurious inuendoes. Appalling.

Judge was right when he said their story was full of holes……. Murderers got a deal and judge was limited with term he could impose on them. At least the judge ensured they had to return to jail (bet they hoped for time served). Not only did evidence reflect the victim was drugged, murdered, but the kids must have been sedated too……. Mother/wife of murderer sits in her room while listening to the loud murdering assault and neither goes to see, nor rings emergency services……. They can spew all the lies they want, the facts are clear. PREMEDITATED MURDERERS……..

Because she said that she was abused, battered woman syndrome, so they found some judge that agreed with her in this case he just she just had accomplished her dad. The judge was probably paid off. That’s how things work.

Hard to believe people can drug someone beat them to death and paint a picture of themselves as victims so much corruption in the judicial system now she found the perfect target in that loving husband and father so hard for his son and daughter hope they find the peace and happiness the deserve as the try to go on with their lives

Shocking how they got away with only a few years in prison. Thomas Corbett is an embarrassment. Being former FBI, he should know better. If what they claimed was a true self-defense, they would have only hit him a few times to knock him out & then call the cops. And there's 2 of them. So one could have called 911. Unless you really want someone death, no one in their right frame of mind will keep hitting someone on the head when they're already unconscious. They really wanted to make sure Jason's dead.

Justice for Jason Corbett and his family was snatched away by the appeals court, the prosecutors who gave up, and this second judge who admitted he didn't know anything about the case. What a travesty, what a disgrace that these two vile murderers essentially got away with murder.

Is he for real "51 months more than just". It's an absolute disgrace of a sentence. They murdered Jason, and they left two kids without any Dad after already losing their Mom. They should be locked up for life. I hope they are haunted for the rest of their lives and never find an ounce of peace.

The defence lawyers were a disgrace with their outrageous response after the sentencing. Clearly they had zero empathy for two children whose parents are both dead. It was unpardonable to try to suggest that their mother had been killed by their father, in a disgusting attempt to paint the stepmother as a victim. Did they actually believe all the lies? It was proven beyond any doubt that Molly Martens was a compulsive, manipulating liar, who spent time in psychiatric care and whise family had FBI connections. The fact that evidence bags from the scene of the crime were alleged to have been found in her brother's house, twelve days after the murder seems to have been conveniently forgotten about. Also the comments of her ex fiance.

Actually, there is something typical and familiar about this case… women can just go around saying that they’ve been abused and literally get away with murder and in this case the father helped out. they should both be in prison for the rest of their lives. Period!!!
