Mola Mola Munch Munch! Feeding Time With Young Ocean Sunfish!

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Mola mola munch munch! Target feeding with our two young ocean sunfish is a piece of cake. Both beasties have learned to hit their Mola marks to dine on tong-delivered delicacies!
ven though ocean sunfish have a brain the size of a walnut, they can be trained to recognize a visual dinner-bell (a “target” in the biz) to come over and be fed by hand. The molas are fed a special blend of food inside a sausage casing, allowing us to study how fast these animals grow. Our daily tailgates with the molas prove that you can be bean-brained brainiac!
See if you can spot our young molas on our Open Sea cam: mbayaq.co/SkpVDa

I think he's adorable....I love ocean sunfish. They're just these huge things that don't harm anything or anyone and just swim around and sun themselves...

they're predators. they eat pretty much whatever they can catch which is a surprising amount of things including squid, crustaceans and other fish.

Also for us it's one of the most cutest moments we saw here on KZread 😊. But we are not sure if it was the cutest for us ... a few months ago we met a little hand-raised orangutan and it's also really cute.

My little blue beta fish knows when i tap lightly on the edge of his tank to come to a specific place to be fed and flares at me to show his impatience if i don't get the food in fast enough.

Is it true that Sunfish have been known to kill them selves by throwing themselves out of the water trying to get rid of parasites?

Wow, the "Survive Mola mola" game did make it's way into pop culture huh? 😅 No, Mola don't die from jumping out of the water to clean parasites-they often jump out of the water to evade sea lions and other predators chasing them!
