Was frustrated and ready to call a plumber, even already having the replacement faucet on hand. But your video saved me by solving the mystery of how to release the old faucet from the sink - it's one nut that can be removed with a deep socket! Outstanding clarity + solution - you win the prize for helping this handyman maintain his self esteem. Thank you!!

This video made the job easy. Thank you. In my case the 5/8" nut on the spray hose connection, and the nut on the faucet itself were very corroded and did not want to come loose. A pair of short channel lock pliers broke the hose nut free, but nothing would break the 5.8" nut loose using hand tools. I finally got my impact wrench and used an extension and 5/8 deep socket to get the nut off of the faucet mount. No problem. Just a lot of rusted flakes all over the place.

This is hilarious (not the video, but my situation). I was trying to remove my Moen faucet which I installed 10 years ago, but couldn't figure out how. Then I came upon your video where you said something like: "I put this in 10 years ago and I forgot how I put it in.... I couldn't tell how to get the Moen off." I even had the Moen installation tool which I kept under the sink and didn't know what it was until you showed it toward the end of your video. So funny how similar my situation was. Thanks so much for your video!
@brettquinn32445 жыл бұрын
Thanks. This solved the mystery of how to get the faucet off the sink. You said in the beginning you just 'disconnected the spray wand hose'. I spent 4 hours trying to unthread the spray wand hose nut. It is a 12 sided nut on mine (an older model I think) and no metric or English deep throat socket would grab it. ( I had to cut the spray wand hose to try this.) I was able to loosen the bolt holding the whole thing together (the main thrust of this video). It was already loose to be honest from years of usage. I was able to get it loose enough to unthread it to the wand hose nut, pull the faucet up off the sink top as much as I could (about 1.5 inches) and cut the whole thing free with a Sawzall. When it was all free I took the piece with the wand nut to the hardware store and tried every English and metric deep throat socket I could find and none of them grabbed it None. Pliers probably put it on and pliers are needed to take it off. An impossible task when mounted to the sink with no room to work. Just a warning to anyone trying this at home. Thanks for the video. IT was helpful.

You got straight to the point, and I gleaned enough info to remove it about half way through your video!
You saved my mental health and gained a Wolfpack fan.
The handle actually recently broke on mine so I guess that's my queue to replace it since it's been on the sink since forever but I couldn't figure out how to get it off and was literally about to bust out the sawzall until I found this video. Thanks a ton!
Thanks! I was stuck for 20 minutes until I found this video!

You're welcome!
I stared at the underside for an hour trying to see how to get the old faucet off. The horse collar looks like a compression fit but that didn’t make sense. Thank you for providing this invaluable insight!
I know this video is old but THANK YOU SO MUCH- this specific video helped me uninstall my old as balls kitchen faucet (I am tiny so I actually crawled in there and took off that part without the special tool) and saved me $200 from not having to call a plumber. You’re out here doing the LORDS WORK 👍👍
Made my day brother. I'm a DIY guy but could not figure out what was holding this in place. So glad I stumbled on to this. Saved me a ton of time and frustration. Thanks for the vid.
My husband was extremely grateful for ur video. Thanks do much!!!
Outstanding video--no music and straight to the point! I was in the same situation not remembering how I installed this version. Thank youj!
Thanks a million!!! I watched video and was just about to head to garage to find smaller wrench when it hit me to just check under sink for that tool. There it was on a shelf with black writing on it saying 2007 sink tool. I had totally forgotten about it. You saved me a lot of time. Thanks again

Thank you very much! Perfect timing to watch your video as I want to change the tap!
Ahhh. Thank you! That makes sense, I never installed a faucet like this, and was at a loss on how to do it.
I looked my dang faucet over for a while trying to figure out how to tighten this thing, looked like it had to be attacked from the top, so I disassembled the top till I couldn’t disassemble it anymore!! Watched your video, and had it tightened in two minutes flat from below! Thank you for this video, I couldn’t find anything on this till I stumbled my way here!
Thank you! I was clueless as to how to remove my faucet until I watched your video. I purchased a 5/8 inch deep socket before I started and the rest was a piece of cake.
Dude. THANK YOU. I was about to lose it trying to figure out how to get this damn faucet OUT!
Finally A useful video! For old houses
Thank you so much. This helped so much. I just wish we found this 3 hours ago.
Thank you so much I was about ready to take the old one back and say screw it. But you just save me hours of banging my head against the wall, so appreciate people like you posting videos to help others. I hope the return the favor to somebody someday.
Thank you for this video. I was in the same boat as you. I couldn't remember how I installed it 15 years ago
I suspected the same, and thanks for confirming. The nut required a little liquid wrench and someone holding the fixture so it would not rotate while I loosened the nut. Thank you. Go Pack!
Thank you! I was stumped! My house was built in 2008, just like you said, thats how old the faucet was.
A million thank you's for sharing this. This was puzzling me to the point that I kept putting off the task (it's not completely broken yet).
100% pure gold!!! Many thanks! I have been looking up at the underside of this thing for an hour.
Oh my goodness - God bless you sir! We thought the thing was welded to the sink and my husband was about to lose his mind trying to get the thing out. Luckily, he found your video before pulling out the jackhammer. I came on here specifically to thank you for sharing the solution!!! Hallelujah ❤️
THANK YOU SIR!! I was looking for a couple of screws to remove this. Never would have thought about that nut holding it.
Thank you! Mine was a rusty mess, but after your video I knew what to look for. Thanks again!
I appreciate this video because it's the only one I found with the same connection I've been struggling with. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing, I took one look at my old moen and said, 'nope'. Your vid was the first I found!
Just what the doctor ordered! Thank you
I don’t know what would possess anyone to think this would be important enough to post a video… but thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
A little internet gem....Just when I needed it, Thank you.
SAVED Me! Thank you. I was so stuck and I am trying to replace my parents kitchen sink faucet fixture and was sure I was going to wake up to the folks angry, and the plumber on his way her way. truly, thanks.
dude you're a lifesaver, i saw this assembly and thought it was a crazy plumber's retrofit with all those crazy screws.
Your video is over a year old but I just had to replace my Moen faucet. I was so frustrated. Your video was one of the first to pop-up, so thank you! Installed a beautiful new faucet w/o issue after the Moen removal.
Layne...you just saved me from going to Home Depot and doing something HORRIBLE to whomever happened to be working in the plumbing dept. THANK YOU!!!
Thanks Layne, exactly where I was stuck!!!
YOu can't imagine how much this video helped. I just could not see how to remove that piece. It was obscured by a quick fit fitting, after I took that off, the nut was visible. Thanks for telling me the size too! Done!!
Thank you! I was fixated on the small screws on the bottom of the block, all of which were rusted as my faucet has apparently been leaking longer than I thought. This method is so much better 😁
Same as every other, I forgot about the tool. Yep I found it after watching this. Changed my frustration to a hearty LOL. Thanks for the reminder.
Thanks so much for sharing this information! When we saw that thing around the connections, we were lost. One of the "little" things that no one thinks is important. Your share was a life saver! Bless you!
Thanks - just pulled mine out. 10 years old! Merry Christmas from California!
If I ever bump into you in a bar, your money will be no good. Thanks for taking the time to upload this video! And I'm sure glad I switched brands with the new one!
Awesome!!! You just saved me a couple hours of head scratching... Thank you!!
Your video saved me a ton of frustration trying to remove the old Moen Faucet.
Always refreshing to see a truly good human being operate! Thank you for being great person and thinking of others!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I never would have figured that out myself!
It is 1am local here and you just saved me hours longer of frustration. Thank you!
My first time replacing a faucet, and I was second-guessing my ability to do so until I found this video. 30 minutes later, and I'm done. Thank you, good sir!
Thank you, thank you ! I would never have figured this out without help. Perfect video at the right time! The install of my new Moen faucet took less time. Happy wife, happy life.

Glad it helped!
thanks for the information. i couldnt find a socket that was long enough to insert and take out the nut. so i had to use a small wrench to slowly turn it until it gave, then i unscrewed it with my fingers. luckily my spouse and kid werent around bc i cussed up a storm. but your video gave me a good idea of what had to be done.
Thanks so much, that nut was hidden by years of grim. You saved me from a big headache
Nice. This solved my problem, couldn't find the hardware in that tight space. You are the man. Managed to get the bolt with an adjustable wrench. Go pack!
