Looking back at that old footage, there was a lot of work you had already done and you've done a whole lot more since, Kudos

Thanks for the inspiration. I am working upgrading my seat in my 52 Willys truck.

I have '01 Civic buckets in my '72 Elco. Four Hot Rod Power Tours and about 30K miles on the car and they are one of the best decisions I made. I have done 600 miles in one day with no discomfort. Great minds think alike.

I think they look good. Back in '61, safety in pickup trucks and cars in general, was not really a consideration. Adding seat belts is a big plus! As long as you like them, who cares what the purists think. My friend in high school had a '67 3/4 ton Chevy pickup and we put a Cadillac power front seat in it. You hit your head on every bump, and we never did hook the power up to it, so it didn't adjust but it was comfortable.

The seats, the 245/45R18's, and the air bag size I chose, make this thing ride like a sexy sports sedan. I love it.

My experience has generally been that upholstery was nothing but the quickest hackery that worked for a minute, before I got hold of it. Not like the fabric, foam, springs and what-not are going to last forever, and it's usually just covering up something ugly to begin with. I wouldn't lose any sleep over the upholstery gurus being un-fond of my work.

Gr8 video, are any Mazda GC 626 cars available, model year 1982-1987, the 86' my dad had and were extremely comfortable, public transportation service drivers wanted these seats in the vehicles they drove and hence the reason many of these cars in trinidad had their interiors stolen...yes thats right, interiors were stolen, seats, door cards were the only things taken, seriously....have a look around, may be some of these cars still in the junk yards,
