@@YangJinHyun That's why the best people to make fun of something are the people that care about it the most. They know how to hit it where it hurts lmao. Like when I saw some videos making fun of old-school metalcore kids and I was like "hahaha yeah that me but like .... can this be a full song?". Also, "Bad Guy" from Anthony Vincent with Jared Dines (Bad Guy - Billy Eilish in the style of Breaking Benjamin) is an amazing example of making fun of something while also making it sound amazing.

You gotta always evaluate the character of drum machine vs actual drummer. I prefer Drum Machine over an actual drummer even in metal since it sounds unnatural but also more unique. For a good album thats almost all Drummachine Nailbomb - Point Blank comes to mind. Sadly no one in the band remembers what drum machine was used anymore. P much all my black metal stuff was 808 since its suprisingly good for blast beats.

I feel like this is a result of audio-engineer metal, stuff like Mick Gordon's work. You can just program the drums to be crazy and they'll sound real/good enough, and then just do basic downtuned super prod'd guitar stuff, and you'll sound super heavy and "pro" without any actual instrument playing ability.

The sound engineering is actually quite hard to get those industrial sort of sounds. If you just programmed drums without a good idea of sound design itd sound like absolute shit. It's really hard to make any programmed drums sound good enough, be that some overpriced hi res drumkit sample pack, a drum machine or a crappy 12 bit rompler sound library. Pretty much half of the sound people associate with most metal genre comes from post-production anyways. There's alot of old death metal and black metal demo tapes which would be a great example of how alot of the heaviness comes from a studio engineer putting delays and compressors on things. Hell even the Trve Kvlt stuff people still fight over nowadays is basically amateur sound engineering.
