I needed a new dining table. First I wanted to build a simple construction but then I tell myself if I do build one then it should be something special. A Simple Modern Dining Table. The special thing is that I turned the square tubes 45 degrees to get a special look. Even I sometimes had to think twice about not cutting it wrong. The special thing is also the Tropical Wood (Wenge Hard Wood) that has been standing around with me for 20 years and I finally found a use for it. It was once again a very nice project of which I am very proud.

And then people still ask "Why is your table so expensive?" ....... because it seems that the majority of people these days just simply doesn't understand what it takes to make such a beautiful piece. Time (labor), patience, planning, wasted steel because of complex angles (maybe not in your case), contracting someone to do the parts you can't (for example the table top. but maybe not in your case), grinding/polishing, materials, paint and so the list goes on.... For some reason the average Joe thinks that everything, even custom made things, needs to be cheap because China has brought that way of thinking to the world with mass production. I as a metal fabricator applaud you for an excellent and beautifully created table!!

We make in China - cheap - cheap. Not because mass production - because mass exploitation of our people. Work hard. No holiday. No toilet break.

What was that angle grinder extension? Is that professionally manufactured or did you build it yourself? Seems brilliantly simple, I would imagine you don't use it often, but when you do it is the perfect tool. What has your impressions been? Is there anything you would do different if you were designing it? Your fixture table is brilliantly simple as well, excellent design and fabrication

@@TheMetalist I have been shopping for a fixture table for several weeks, I had picked one and intended to order this week. Your video has screwed up all of my plans, the design of your fixture table is too brilliant and simple to not replicate. I was considering using a trailer hitch system to have a chop saw and or a vise end up exactly level with the surface. If you were building your table again from scratch, is there anything you would have done differently? Any particular tips? I was planning on making a torsion designed for the top so that I have fixture holes on the aprons of the table. What made you decide to not go with a torsion design? I'm very impressed with your design decisions on many projects, I would appreciate any input you have to offer

In order to continue with this masked charade, This format change requires clarification. It's it now The woodist, or the Metaloodist? Maybe the Meodist? See whatever I justify just doesn't work. May we be privy to any further changes in format,,, BEFORE, we are forced to endure the outrageous assumption that wood deserves and "IST" to begin with. This is causing far reaching dilemma's in my genetic propensity to a welding psychosis. I also believe my balls have shrunken since watching this video. And this wont do at all.
