i WOULD HAVE NEVER THOUGHT TO USE THE METAL RULES IN THAT WAY... SPEED UP CUTTING TIME AND ACCURACY IMMENSELY.... BULDING AN STEAMPUNK FANTASY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX.... THIS WILL REALLY COME IN HANDY.... THANK YOU!!!

I wouldn't have either, if I hadn't seen this video. If you don't have a wood chopper (which I don't), that's a great substitute. It's not as fast as using a chopper, but as seldom as I have the need to cut multiple short pieces of wood to the same length, that's the next best method.

Nice! 👍
It would be totally fun if someone could invent a system similar to the magnorail, that would allow the passenger figurines to board and disembark the trains! LOL Not sure it would be possible, though...no way to make that bridge to the inside of the train cars...
You are so talented sir really an amazing job concratulations

That is impressive! Great job on building it.
So you've got, like, a train platform, in the middle of nowhere, and no train station in sight. Is that usual practice in Europe? Taking nothing away from the platform, of course...excellent job!
@marklinofsweden

Thank you! 👍😊 Yeah.. Swedish passenger traffic has more or less always been a loss business. Sweden has too few citicens spread over a too large area... so.. yes! This was a common sight here in the 50s. Empty platforms in the countryside with not much else in sight. Maybe a few houses down the road..
Dear marklin of sweden, thank you so much for such a wonderful tutorial and congratulations on your magnificent model. It was very inspiring!! I wonder whether you have considered compiling your ideas into a book? All the best!

Thank you for the positive feedback! I´m so glad you like the videos! Naa.. I was born KZread and on KZread I will remain. BUT! I have got a number of propositions to make clinics, showing methods and techniques for an audience, both in Europe and USA. I consider that, but probably not a book..

This is the first time I have seen your videos and must tell you I really did enjoy your project ,very informative and well done.I like the way you give measurements and your colour mixes and proportions.I plan on checking out more of your work,Keep up the great work .BTW...I like those needles ,very handy for pinning and clamping ,wish we had those here in Canada.

Man what patience you have for details. I've wanted to scratch build a platform and you have given me some ideas. The first one I built for my HO scale railroad came out too big so I've decided to use it on my Lionel 027 layout instead. Guess it's time to invest in a proper 1/87th metal scale. Live and learn. Nice job on your platform. :-) Rusty in eastern Tennessee (Witherington Place Railroad)

that is spec-flaming-tacular! You did a really, really nice job on that! I can't wait to try your water technique for a seascape I'm planning on painting soon. If it will work for water, it will also work for clouds (hopefully). Thank you for sharing your immense talent with the rest of us!
I was seriously amazed by how this was made, the attention to detail and the work that it took to make this. How did you make this in 2-3 hours?!? You're pretty nifty with your hands. Great video!
@marklinofsweden
6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the positive feedback Charlton! :D Naaa. This platform took like 8-10 hours to make and mount on the layout. I work typically like 20 minutes per day.. No more, no less.. so it does of course take some time, but hey! It´s relaxing and great fun.. No need to hurry.
You are a really crack, I like it! It looks perfect, and your tricks and skills are surprising.
Incredible - I am just starting to learn and you inspired me to try... beautiful work and great instruction.
I'm really impressed as always. There are however two steps in this tutorial that you go over pretty fast and that is HOW you find the "right" angle to cut the queer-bars and how you actually keep that angle while cutting them. You could also have pointed out that they have to point the same way to be usable. However, whoever comes as far as to build a similar platform will off course find that out himself. The second thing is the cutting out the stair, not the steps, but the different levels. Still, a very good tutorial!
@marklinofsweden
6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the positive feedback Magnus! (y) "how you actually keep that angle while cutting them"? Easy.. You just dont change the angle of your hand in between each cut. "cutting out the stair, not the steps, but the different levels". I don´t have method for it.. It just happend they way it´s shown in the video.
wow bravo! another sumptuous work of master! it's a real beauty! I will try to reproduce it for my network. you are my biggest source of inspiration in model making! I progress each time!
Nice j didn ' t know that
