Marklinofsweden

Welcome to my channel! Here I´m sharing my passion for model scenery creation. My goal with every video is to push the limits for increased realism and still keeping the methods and materials simple and low cost. Most of the materials, software, tools and machines has been provided by different manufacturers over the 12 years I´ve been an active KZreadr. Every new video therefore needs to be tagged with the "This video contains paid product placement". However, in real life the channel is totally dependent on donations and Patrons for it´s continuation.

Don’t you apply matte varnish as last operation?

Really nice such a 3D -scanning application! But to be honest, the saw cut parts doesn't look real to me. I'm missing the annual rings (is it possible to scan some variation on the saw cut sides of some logs, and use that in combination with it?), color variation and it's a bit to yellow for me. But for the rest, nice to how realistic those tree logs are!

It looks great and sure does the job but at $1500.00 Au that is very expensive... I personally, still prefer the original real piece of a tree used for wagons and the like..I try to use real items where possible and just use smaller pieces for scale size.

Excellent as always! That is a very very nice piece of kit, but 1000 euro is likely beyond most of us. Will you make any of your STLs available to us plebeians?

Looks great! Several people in the comments being nostalgic about making scale logs from real trees, and I understand their thoughts, but to me that was always one of the things that never looked right to me but everyone seemed to accept. Real tree twigs have nothing like scale bark, and to me it always just looks like twigs. It's great to have something that's actually looking like a scaled down real log.

Martin, I say this with great respect and as a long time fan of your work - your actual hands-on work - your channel has kind of morphed into one big sales pitch for 3D printing everything - even when you’re walking through woodland where natural materials could have been collected to make exactly what you wanted to make in this video WITHOUT having to waste more plastics, energy, other materials and quite frankly, time. A twig is a perfect representation of a branch as it is. We don’t need to scan, print, paint etc etc etc. You have made yourself look both avaricious and really rather silly in this video. It’s sad to see what’s happened. Goodbye

Great work as usual, but.....always a but, it seems that you're more and more interested in "selling" expensive digital tools than in the hobby itself. I really miss your videos from years ago where you shared your extraordinary abilities to do a lot of stuff that we, hobby train lovers, don't even think that would be possible to make with simple everyday life things and your own hands and lovely handycraft. I hope you'll be able to go back to those lovely videos from time to time. Thank you for sharing!

Isn't that the metamorphosis of every good YT-channel? They start off sharing their passion and putting in their life's blood. But once a fairly large community forms, and they gain partnerships for advertisements, content-frequency and / or -quality declines. Although, to be fair, I haven't checked back at patreon in a while to see what's going on over there.

Just my 5 cents from Germany. I'm watching your channel since years, you created realistic water made by toilet paper. My deep respect 👍.. But since you more and more making projects with the support of a 3D printer, I'm less interested of your channel. The whole things you need for digital realistic model railroad is expensive enough. I will never buy a 3D printer or any scanner. 😮

Whilst you were in the forest. Wouldn't it have been a much cheaper and quicker method to have just picked up a few twigs and used them. You couldn't have got more natural than that.

Quite the nifty method. 3D printing seems to get a tad of overexposure in the hobby perhaps. My first go-to for logs would be finding something in nature and work with it. However, it must be said that the fidelity by this method is of course stellar.

Hej marklinofsweden! Ar du Planerar att göra fler videor med Creality-skannern? Jag skulle vara intresserad av att se hur, till exempel, en 1:87 3D-printed bil skulle se ut med den här metoden... Tack och tschuss fron Holland!

So funny. I was walking with my wife and saw a piece of this type of bark. I picked it up. Wife said, "What are you doing?" I said , look at this. It would make a great rock face my my railroad. Than a few weeks later this video comes up.

Another excellent idea. We don't model a certain country or region, so everything goes, lol. Call it terra hodgepodge hahah. In that regard, adding windmills is a splendid suggestion.

In the US, we call lots of things windmills that have nothing to do with grinding grain. Most pump water. I have never seen these before, so I looked them up. These are real windmills. Inside is a grinding stone. Just thought I would throw that out there in case anyone else was wondering.

I like the built.. and want to try making this. In the Netherlands we have a lot of mills, but usually the wings or wieken (as we call it in dutch), are covered by some cloth like a sail. So they catch more wind. Maybe I could make that out of paper..

  • @Tybold63
    @Tybold638 күн бұрын

Am pretty sure they had cloth back in the days in Sweden too but the majority or all of these are not used as mills any longer so they are "naked".
