When you match the Moe Norman Model you get Moe Norman Results. All you must do is make sure you are doing it correctly.
In this video, I present the Moe Norman model and show you what I look for when I match the model.

About the Single Plane Golf Swing:
The Single Plane golf swing is not a quick fix golf technique. It is a system, beginning at address, that simplifies the most important moment of the golf swing - impact.
Starting at address on two planes where the arms hang straight down at address, the Conventional golf swing is complicated. Because the arms are hanging straight down, a conventional golfer must lift the body into impact creating stress on the back.
This upward movement to accommodate the two planes is unnecessary.
The Single Plane Golf swing simplifies the golf swing by eliminating the need for the upward movement by starting and impacting on the same plane.

To find out more about the Single Plane Swing, I have created a "Single Plane Pocket coach" that you can take to the range, or course, and learn the fundamentals of the swing. Find out more about the Pocket Coach here: gravesgolf.com/yt/get-guide

Hi Todd. I’m 77 and started using the “Moe-swing” since April. It feels easier on the body and I just shot my best score in a long while. BTW, I ordered the pocket guide and advanced tips but I don’t see any email confirmation. I thought I took screen shots at time or order but don’t see it. I wonder if I was dreaming? lol Or senior moment which I’ve been having a lot of lately. Just hope that the link to order the pocket guide is not a bogus one. 😬 Thanks for keeping Moe’s movement alive. Keep up the great videos. Respectfully, Rod in Hawaii.

Moe's style works. I have been doing it for a month now with the training aids, book and video I purchased, well worth the money. I will keep playing this way for life, i'm 65 and first time ever killing the ball good as my Son and that is Priceless...

Golf (especially good golf) is so hard. Matching a model is so much easier than trying to affix patches and corrections to an already ineffective swing. This method works, is shown to be more effective and efficient (bio-mechanically) than conventional and, did I not mention this, IT DOESN"T CAUSE ANY BACK PAIN! Thanks Todd, for saving my game and my back. :)

Took many years off from golf due to kids, 2 back surgeries and fishing. Kids are older, friend sokd his offshore boat so ... decided to start playing this past week Just practiced this for 1st time today on a field with 3 wedges. . 56, 53 and 49 Hit 48 balls of each. A few mishits but 85% were within a very good margin considering 1st time I really felt so far away from the ball, like I woukd hit it to the right .. but most ended up 5 to 10 yards to the left or dead center Looking forward to re-learning this swing as I jump back in to playing more

Hi Todd, hope you are well. Thank you for everything you do! You have a beautiful way of teaching and explaining things and I love that you are passing on Moes swing to everyone. I have one question for you. I know when he was pitching, he liked to feel like he was making a long putting stroke. Did he have that feeling with all of his irons too?

A plane is the direction, parallel to what was at set-up. Hogan however had a plane for the fist path and instead of it being fixed, Hogan’s idea was, that the down-swing plane derived to the outside of the target in order to approach the impact from the inside. Moe’s looping of the fists and club is the oppisite to Hogan. Both are really solid and consistent. I think Tom Watson combined these two as he referred the shoulder plane being the key for consistent ballstriking of his.

Todd. I love your videos and everything about the single plane swing and Mo Norman that you teach and demonstrate. I have committed to the single plane swing and going well. However, do you have any guidance on the tilt forward of the upper body at address? I think I am standing too upright, which is causing a short flat backswing, although I am arriving at impact on the set up plane. What is the ideal forward tilt and how do I find that for me? Do you have any videos covering this? I noticed in this video you show of Mo, that the angle of his back forms pretty much 90% to the shaft/trail arm angle. Is this what we should be looking to achieve to match the model? Thanks.

I’m firmly convinced that Moe’s way is the more efficient ( obviously) for consistency but also from a bio mechanical point of view the very best way to use ground forces naturally without pain in lower back. If I could have lessons from you!… it seems difficult from France, unless you provide online lessons. Let me know please and merci for your great vids. 👍

Todd, setting up with the club a foot behind works as part of the single plane swing. But if it works for the swing shouldn't it work for chipping and putting too? I have been practicing chipping indoors this off season and I am surprised how much better results this gives me. I'm not sure about the putting yet but I'm going to try that too.

Could you call this an over the top swing since his hands are under plane then comes down on plane.

  • @ToddGravesGolf

Good Question. Over the Top is a "conventional term". I try not to describe Moe's swing conventionally because Over the Top implies that it "should" go back on the plane. This premise is biomechanically flawed. Moe's swing is a natural movement of the club when you rotate the body. It moves On a Single Plane relative to the body's rotation.

  • @ToddGravesGolf

yes. All swings have biomechanical limitations, this produces sequence. The goal is to have less variables and simplify the motion.
